The 2022 Cannonball Run Year of Birth Build Thread

I know exactly what you mean! My Club DeMer was designed to be painted and then assembled, so I've wound up literally designing my own model using the kit body, which itself needs extensive rework. That's all part of the fun though. -
Nice build and display!

Phrozen Sonic Mini 4K 3D Printer
MeatMan replied to MrObsessive's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Once you get it dialed in you won't look back. I typically do parts I need for my future builds as well as current to fill the build plate. -
Got a little more work done. I used Tinkercad to design a tank to fit in the limited space trunk. It almost fits perfectly but sits a little high, so to the grinder it goes for a bit of trimming to the bottom. I decided to modify the Corvette dash to give it a couple of touchscreens. The one in front of the passenger will tie to a night vision camera in the grille (yes, they do exist), and the center screen will be multifunction. The seats are low back units I bought the files for and printed. I'm considering a console but that's still in the air. I'm working on fitting the taillights now. I cut some from a C7 Corvette to remove the turn signals so they fit, but botched cutting one hole already, but its salvageable with some work.

Y Block Rams Horn manifolds

In that case the ones I printed should fit! I'm attaching a better pic and if you are good with how they look, PM me your address and I'll send them out. -

Thanks guys, I have a little Photon Zero. Perfect for what I print. -

Yes, I'd like to have that measurement before I do anything further. -

Okay, did the first print and they came out good print-wise but I made the mistake of using the kit manifolds for size and didn't account for the bolt holes, which aren't on the kit parts, aaargh?. Its pretty much a do-over at this point because I'll have to resize it in the drawing because I believe resizing the finished file will reduce the print in unintended ways. And yes Andy, they do appear to be curved inward on both pics but I couldn't make that out on the head-on pic. That calls for a different approach than what I used, its called a "sweep" and I used it once before to make a drop axle. I'll give it a go here since I have to start over anyway. As for the casting marks, its no big to add them but they probably won't print well on my low end machine. Thanks for the input. -

I got a little work done on them last night and this morning. The result is decent but I think the variations are acceptable when printed to scale. I'm printing some parts for my Club DeMer today so I'll throw these on to see how close they are to fitting the 57 Ford engine. Comments welcome from anyone who sees something that could be done better. As I said, I'm a relative newb. -

Beautiful work! I have that same wheel & tire setup for my next 4WD build. -

Cool, those measurements are in line with my measurements of the Y-block that comes in the AMT 57 Ford kit and I've been doing some preliminary work. I'll let you know one way or the other if I can do it. -

I use I use blender to clean up files I get from other people. I use Alibre Atom for drawing. I just did these rocker covers. No big deal, just offering as a hobbyist and not tryna make a buck. -
Very cool!

Hey Andy, I'm dabbling in CAD design and would take on making a drawing of these on to help hone my skills. I could then print a set in resin. No guarantees, but if you give me the end to end length, approx port size for the end ports and exhaust exit size I'll give it a go as long as you don't need them immediately. -
Nice work! Excellent patina, and I love the natural looking chop line.

Nicely done!
