  1. ? It's close but this vehicle is in a class of it's own, to my mind! I can't wait to find out what it is.
  2. I like your thinking! California (well, Arizona) dreaming...
  3. I reckon so, Matt!
  4. Thanks for this, lovely to see. I don't personally get it. It's like having a box of Belgian chocolates and never eating them. For me the '32 needs to be covered in road rash and highway dirt, maybe ticking and cooling in the early evening sun over Big Sur. Or wherever else you wanted to be. But it's completely up to Mr Hetfeild. Does anyone know if he he drives them much?
  5. Is that young Mr Kossoff? Did he drive a Coronet??
  6. Does that make the '32 Ford the 'Stairway to Heaven'? BTW What are we on about in this thread? I totally agree, sir! I'm as free as a board now...(Thanks, Snake!)
  7. OMG! That's the worst looking vehicle I have ever seen.
  8. Hey Dan, that's a proper non-sequitur! Did you mean to post this in 'What irked you today'??
  9. Maybe some of the artificial grass is your friend with this problem, but you're the expert. Here's the monolith from a scene in the film in all it's glory: It's a great film. All the best, -Don.
  10. Fantastically evocative, although dare I suggest the stone pillars need 'rooting' to the pavement? At the moment they appear reminiscent of the monolith in 2001 A Space Odyssey, complete in themselves but not integrated with the rest of the scene. If this is still WIP I apologise - 'Fools and children...' Cheers, -Don.
  11. The cutaways are especially fascinating - I really had no idea these 'Vettes were like that under the skin. You can learn a lot from models! Thanks Peter for building and posting these.
  12. When cars (or bikes etc) run at speed trials such as at Bonneville, they use proper timing equipment. They don't rely on the speedometer. Speedos are notoriously inaccurate. Just saying. Still sounds like the Vicky was running pretty fast enough on public roads. It's a nice car.
  13. Yep, there's good and bad in all of us! ??
  14. Well, I can't stand sexism!
  15. Great job, Michael. I'd drive this if it was 1:1.
  16. I's refreshing to see bold colours, looking forward to the final result!
  17. Yes! I re-visited this with brain engaged and this is indeed a rotary but as you say, Snake, it's quite different from a Wankel rotary. I'll get my coat!...
  18. Looks like a great model, Bruce. Of course you're correct - a Rotary is quite different as you say - think NSU RO80 or various Mazda car engines. Does the model come with a miniature bottle of blackberry brandy to offset the castor oil fumes as noted on the box?
  19. Steve - I too love these sketches - but Cheese Shop and Dead Parrot were both performed by Michael Palin and John Cleese. Mr Jones wasn't in them.? But I'm sorry Terry went the way he did, he was one of the best (as were / are all of the Pythons).

    '40 Ford Bobber

I like that. It looks like a grown up Hot Wheels rod, which can't be bad.
  21. It appears to be mid or rear-engined judging from what's visible under the vent on the rear deck, which somehow doesn't fit with the long bonnet / hood and truncated rear. A bit like a VW-based kit but clearly a step up from that. Is there any more info on the drivetrain?
  22. You need to get some Waxoyl or some Dinitrol on that front end! Very convincing.
  23. Fantastic work, Eddie ! I'm not Ford fan but I do like the Consul Capri, when I was a very young kid these, the Classics and the Anglias were a taste of the transatlantic, along with the Wimpy bar naturally. I really would love to see it finished. What's your plan?
