Freekin' cool!! This whole 3D printer gig is about to take scale modeling to a whole new level once it gets fairly affordable. -
Hang in there John. Attitude and patience will prevail here. You'll be back to working on this build before you know it. Gator did bring up a good point with the snap kits. There are some of those out there that I actually thought about building and have seen built here that turned out great. You've got this man, it's just gotta be on life's terms right now.

'66 Barracuda "Hemi Under Glass" --To be cont'd......

Thanks Jim, JC, Kerry and Dave! I'm still chugging away on the Ford F-100 and will hopefully be done by the first week or so in November. After that I'll have a green light for this build. Still gathering information and parts. Anybody with some good files or info on this ride? All info would be welcome at this point as I'm finding it a little difficult to locate bumper to bumper pics on this resto ride. -

What's up with that tach?? That thing looks practically real!!! I see the backing looks like a decal. What did you make the needle pointer out of? Motor looks superb! Where'd you get the oil filter decal at? -
Everything from detail work to paint is there. This build is right up there with the best I've seen yet............

This looks very interesting. I'm in!

Thanks Gator! I got to re-looking at the hood and scoop and decided that the scoop needed some engine numbers on it. I had a set of decals that said "BOSS 429" on them so I decided to cut the BOSS part out and trim up the 429 numbers and apply them. I'll let 'em dry out and clear it in the coming days. I think it added a nice touch to the front of the truck. I now have all the Street Demons kits as of last Thursday. I see another 429 going into at least one of these...possibly the 54 Chev or the 41 Willys. Decisions, decisions, decisions....... Hmm....

Tim: Thank you for your comments. I'd been wanting to build that bird for around 17 years before I took this one on. I did all kinds of research on it before hand. Harry: Thanks bud. I got beat by a pretty fair lookin' 109 B and this Stuka actually beat my all opened up Fw190 D-9. That was weird. Kenneth: Thank you sir. Hopefully I'll have that dang F-100 finished in time for the Feb show. lol

I'm likin' that set up you've got going there Dan! -
Thanks a lot Dan and Gator!! All I've gotta say is that when I did the gloss coat on my Challenger build a few months back either 1.) God was with me , 2.) the stars were all lined up just right, 3.) Hell did in fact freeze over or 4.) it must have been pure dumb luck because this paint job here has given me a run for my money!!! I'm still in the fight and aint giving up though!!! This morning I wet sanded all the minor cracking I saw in the gloss finish over the flames on the body and polished the heck out of it with Novus 2. I also repainted the flames on the 4th friggin paint job on this hood and will be letting that all gas out for 3 or 4 days before attempting another gloss coat on it. The roof got a wet sanding and polishing as well and I glued two retaining screw heads onto the rear license plate to tidy that up a little. It was a busy morning since 3:30 a.m. and I got to spend 4 solid hours on this thing so I feel like I got a lot done with it. I ended up lightening the pics up a little so the flames can be seen a little better. Under the right lighting these things jump out at you. You can see where the finish is a lot smoother in this photo particularly at the front of the fender area. I'm surprising myself with these results. The flames on the hood came out better this time around IMO because I thinned the decanted paint a little more and got it to come out a little smoother. Here's a shot with everything installed as it's gonna be. So far I've got good feelin's about this time 'round.....

I just got this one in yesterday. This'll complete the collection of the Street Demons series. I guess I didn't have to get all of these in the SD line up as all of those kits have been released numerous times with several different schemes and options but I just wanted 'em for nostalgia's sake. I had all these as a kid but only built like two full kits with two others partially built before chucking 'em in the trash. It's just nice to take a trip down memory lane I guess. I

Carl: Thanks and no sir I didn't get to take it to the show but its all good anyways. It's a little bit from being done. Dan: I appreciate that and hopefully I'll get this all right this time. Just to show that I'm still pluggin away at this ol' mule I snapped some shots of the most recent gloss coat this morning. There are still a few traces of cracks but I'm going to be wet sanding that out and polishing that all out with the Novus. I believe this will be the final coat of gloss on the body. I managed to shoot the same coat of gloss on my hood.................again!!! Hood has the same shine as the body here. If you look closely you can see the flames where there isn't a shine. It's what I was aiming for.....a VERY subtle hint of flames.

What catches my eye about your builds is the likeness to realism and it's something that I'm striving for. I like how you can take a model and paint everything up with all the shades and colors you do, throw your skills with Alclad in and then apply detail that mimics real stuff to create something this extraordinary. Builds like this is what sets a replication apart from a model. .
