  1. This'll be freekin' cool!! I can't wait to see this one being built for sure! I had to laugh (in a good way) about the statement you wrote above. I bought my fourth kit for this build today for the rear bumper..............................only!!! My original bumper is toast, the 1st replacement bumper I damaged myself when cutting it from the sprues and the second replacement bumper is pitted from the factory! (and it'll take forever for Revell to send me the replacement-which I'm still gonna pursue-and I would have been that much longer finishing this build). The third kit is the Revell Challenger kit # 85-4213 (which comes in mighty handy for this build with a few of the extra goodies) and the fourth I bought today at Michaels with a 40% off coupon in hand for a total of $12.98. When I initially read your post (I'm talking about the first sentence) I was going to tell you if you need any extra parts to let me know but.................I see you have that covered!!! lol
  2. I left 'em on the table when I left work work ! Dangit I knew I was forgetting something!!! Thanks Tim , Stray and Dan! The wires did take up a lot of time and was nerve racking!
  3. Well it aint leaps and bounds but after 35 grueling minutes I've got the windshield wiper motor and ballast resistor wired up. Carl, we're ready to crank this bad boy up. No charging system yet but it'll crank! lol and I don't have the complete pic of it yet but I installed the exhaust yesterday.
  4. Thanks for the build up photos there Patrick! One of these days hopefully within the year or so I'd like to have another go at mine. I just stole a set of tires out of it. The kit had two sets so it's not short a set. That cabin is awesome! Is that where you build at??? I would LOVE to have a separate little place like that to call mine........and my wife's. lol
  5. Lee and Tom: Thanks fellas! I hear what you're sayin' Tom. On one hand I'm going to be glad to have this one behind me and on the other I don't want it to end either! lol Fred: Epoxy on the seats................got it! I'll never go through that junk with the seats falling out again! Dan and Carl: Hopefully I can have some noteworthy progress this morning to have pics to post. I'm a little under the weather but still kickin'. I hear you on that Carl. Can't hear the starter turning over yet though because the ballast resistor aint hooked up yet.
  6. This has turned out very nice Tim and I loved watching every aspect of this build. Of particular note is the engine build up and the overall finish of this beautiful automobile. Top notch stuff bud!
  7. I like this kit. I started one about 20 years ago and lost it in a move and I do have another one now. Cool build. Got any other progress pics?
  8. Welcome back Stray. This looks to be a good build!
  9. I noticed that as well. There have been a couple of set backs with this build with the drivers seat coming loose being the most severe. Sheesh! Same stuff happens in the aircraft modeling world though. lol
  10. Dan: Thanks a mil man! If all goes well I'll see you there on the 25th of April! Fred: Thanks for the heads up on that. It's the military modeler in me! lol
  11. Wow! That looks cool!
  12. Tim: Thanks bud! Maybe I'll finish by the time you've finished your Cuda! lol Jim: Thank you too sir! I really understand about the delays. Life gets in the way sometimes for lengthy periods. Circumstances are different from person to person but I get it pal. Brodie: You know the stripes are something that I noticed but it honestly didn't "click" until you mentioned it! I'm at the point with this build that the current outcome wins out over the risk. In the future I'll be looking for a mask set that will allow me to paint the strips. Thanks for the support and encouragement you're giving. Don: I appreciate the comments and you aint a kiddin' about it being close. I have to pull back on the reigns to keep from rushing at this point. lol
  13. Well I made some decent progress today in the fact that I got the front clip all but finished (just a little touch up here and there), got the rear spoiler glossed for decals and got the rear valance glossed. I also installed the engine and transmission assy. This was a complete PIA due to trying to route the wiring harness into the firewall at the same time as the engine went in. I ended up dropping the engine onto the bench at one point because I thought I had the engine wedged in there good enough to turn the model over and reposition it into the motor mounts. It wasn't too far and found everything was ok. I've got it in there with the glue drying at the motor mounts and xmsn mount locations now. Here's a pic just after I installed the engine:(I've got a ways to go here with this I know , bear with me please) Then a pic of the front clip: and with it installed:
  14. Tupperware container! LOL. That interior looks like there was a lot of effor, patience and time put into it Steve. Wow!!! You really knocked it out of the park with that one.
  15. This is enough to make anybody wanna stay inside!!! Where do you paint at anyways?
  16. Carl: No problem pal and thanks! Tom: You are a model making machine though. lol . Yes it is amazing. It's funny that this thing started out to be a touch up. I was supposed to start my Bf109 build two months ago today for my Bf109 Group Build. The participants have to be scratching their heads about a Group Build host who................hasn't started building anything yet. But I am having fun with this build and it has spurred my interest in building another automotive subject.......hence these kits that I just bought two days ago!!!!!
  17. This is turning into an engineering feat here. Got my eyes glued to this one. Excellent work here Mike!!
  18. First off that body looks immaculate! I have several car kits in the stash now and look very much forward to attempting to pull off what you have done with your last three builds that I have seen. You're not going to have to modify your technique much , if at all. Secondly, your engine looks great Tim. The paint work looks great and you have just enough weathering to make it look a little used.(Nice fan clutch BTW lol) and lastly, the B-2 Bomber?
  19. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man all of those look great Tom!! You have to be setting some sort of record here! lol
  20. umm..................what? lol Great work so far Jonathan!
  21. How did I miss this? All I can say is "woooooooow" !!
  22. Interesting and nifty. Will be looking in on this one.
  23. Nice engine and bay JC! Looks great so far with all those detail parts in there!
  24. Thanks Tom and your dang skippy it is! Four months and running. It'll be about time! lol Thanks Fred and I'm looking forward to your return. When does hockey season end? I can't remember right now. This morning I shot the gloss on the front lower valance and shot the matte black over the rear spoiler and tail light panel. I'm used to painting military stuff and the finish didn't come out how I wanted so I'll probably go back over it again to smooth it all out. It's close but no ceeegar. I managed to paint the tail light bar with clear red and the reflectors with stop light red. I also picked out the "DODGE" emblem with chrome silver applied with a toothpick. I also applied the license plate decal onto the front bumper assy. Pics coming when I get more progress. There's a show in Houston coming up and if I make it up there I'm probably going to enter this build. Trouble is I don't know what category to enter it in. It's definitely not out of the box and it's not all the way fully detailed either. I guess what I'm saying is it's not at either extreme but somewhere in the middle and it's a re-build. I don't expect to win or anything like that but just wanted to know where to enter it and have a good time at the show.
  25. This is gonna look way cool!!! I'd be pulling my dang hair out on a build like this. You da man!
