  1. X 2!! The only thing I have to say about the finish is...................well .......................I............................umm...........................well.....................
  2. Dang John! Thanks for the reference photos! Man I totally didn't see that! Something else I missed was the wood grain shifter handle....Jeez!! The door panels I'm liable to leave alone because it would require removing the seats and door panels (which wouldn't be easy this time around since I've got those suckers in to stay) and thank you again for taking the time to offer a reference and helpful suggestion. I will handle the shifter though. Its alot easier to get to and will make some difference in the overall interior. Jim: Thanks for the kudos and for the heads up on the mufflers! Every car I see has the regular "silver" color to the mufflers. I'm currently researching for photos on that. If anyone has any pics of it that would be helpful as I'm finding it hard to come up with those. lol Carl: Thank you sir! I will be foiling the tips but painting the mufflers black. Chrome BMF should be here on Thursday.
  3. Engine looks sharp there Tom!!
  4. That Vega actually looks pretty dang cool! (not the idiot version! lol) I could see doing something with that kit!
  5. I'm looking forward to that part too. If it turns out half as good as the rest of the rig it'll be a smashing hit!!
  6. Thanks Dan! My BMF will be here on Thursday from Sprue Brothers so I'll be able to get back on the exhaust and finish it. Until then I've been working on the interior. I kept all the original parts to the interior and freshened it all up a bit. The Dodge logo on the inside door panel that I had painted red, yellow and blue at an earlier age got repainted the silver color it is supposed to be and have applied a uniform coat onto the door so it's less sloppy looking. The same went for the rest of the interior. Anyways here we go: Before: After: Before: After: (the scuffed up portion at the front of the door panels will be hidden by the dash when installed).
  7. That does look sharp! I just love those Fox body Mustangs!
  8. I've used Tamiya and Testors and haven't had an issue like this. I wonder if it has anything to do with the decals? Your attitude is great Ed. Just keep pressing through like you are and you'll have a winner man!
  9. There aint nuthin' wrong there!
  10. I like the colors and detail on that engine Tim!! Rocker covers look sharp!!
  11. This is the part I've been waiting on after all the other detailing you've done on this build! I'll be watchin', gawkin' and learnin'!!
  12. Bonus build time today as I'm off of work! Original front seats done after taking the backs off , removing flash, reassembly , seam filling and painting and then a coat of semi-gloss finish to top things off. I tried a wash and didn't like it after the painting process so I repainted before the final semi-gloss coat.
  13. You're doin' great Jeremy! That's a good level of detail in there! On a side note:(and this is in full support of what Richard is saying) Anybody who has a conniption fit over something you're doing or not doing to your builds are commonly referred to as "jerks" and jerks are everywhere. It's your build and anybody who doesn't respect that can fly a kite. Advice and constructive criticism are welcome things but opinionated, intrusive and offensive comments are not. You'll know it when you see it and unfortunately , you will. There are, however, more good folks than there are idiots thankfully. Rock on brutha!
  14. Not much of an update but here we are with the exhaust most of the way done. I applied the base color yesterday and shot the black sections and colored the inside of the drilled out exhaust tips black this morning. I'm now waiting on the BMF to come in the mail to put the finishing touches on this. I painted the seats this morning and will tinker around with those a little more before posting pics of them. Here's the exhaust thus far:
  15. First off, that's a really cool kit and looks to be a good build! Secondly those GLHS were fairly quick back then. The rest of the car fell apart around the powertrain but that particular 2.2 litre was a force to be reckoned with back in the day. BTW does anybody have a pic of that Cavalier kit?
  16. Thanks Dan!!! I just ordered the BMF today. I forgot that the BMF I had was the matte aluminum stuff. Thanks Tom! I wanted to get more done today but wasn't moving around as well as I do most mornings. I'll probably have something more tomorrow buddy!!
  17. Thanks Lee! Well fellas there aint no progress pics for today. I managed to paint the exhaust the base color and will work on the black sections of the pipe tomorrow morning. I did get my chrome BMF on order today though!!!!! Other than that I just started on the drivers seat by finishing the seam removal and painting it up black. Maybe some pics tomorrow of some real progress........
  18. Thats a sharp build Niko! l like all that chrome trim!
  19. There are people here to help out with the paint stripping procedure as well Dave. Look and ask around and you'll find how to do that too. I haven't had to strip a coat of paint off a car build yet but believe me with the good folks here I could find out within an hours time how to do it. You'll be fine man. One thing that was also mentioned by Carl in the 8th reply here was to shoot some paint on a test subject before shooting the kit body you are working on. You'll avoid a ton of trouble and extra work that way.
  20. Jim: Thanks bud! With the amount of work you are soaking into that Vette build I thought that's all you did was spend time on it!! lol! I'm learning alot from watching builds like yours and other folks here! Mike: Thank you very much for the positive comments buddy!! I think the end is in sight!!
  21. Thanks Gene! I hope to start shooting some paint on the exhaust by in the morning.
  22. Why not go all the way with it no matter what? We're all here learning at different levels and you gotta start somewhere. Just make a deal with yourself to finish it no matter what happens and you've got the first step licked! I'm in on watching this WIP. Go for it dude!
  23. We can only hope!
