Man there's no stoppin' you with the good paint work is there Tim? Wow!!

No, I'll end up extending it for a bit and can afford to run it into April as I'm running what looks to be a highly successful Bf109 GB (Hell it's ony been active for about two months and it's already at 950 posts!!!) an Automotive GB that's doing fairly well elsewhere this year. I like the folks here and am not going to cut anybody's legs out from under them in the middle of a build. This has really been a fun GB here to where people can build "other stuff" with other folks who build "other stuff".

Thanks Carl! I didn't do just a whole lot to this thing this morning. I got the transmission crossmember and some other front suspension components painted black and got the driveshaft painted and glossed. Will wait a day or so before posting any more updates as there hasn't been enough done to post anything. Hopefully I'll have the chassis on wheels by Thursday anyhow. -
Mustang Guys, take notice
mustang1989 replied to vypurr59's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I love Mustangs but I'm having trouble with the "new look" . Maybe it'll grow on me after a while the same way 87-93 Fox bodies did back in the day. I didn't care for them much when they came out either but they ended up growing on me and now I love 'em. -
You know I've had a build or two that went that way Danny. Somewhere in the middle of it I just wanted it done and off my bench. I will say that you've done a good job on this build with that mindset though. Hang in there bubba and I'm looking forward to that 49 Ford of yours! I'll get a picture posted in the intro when I get home tonight Danny. Which pic do you want me to post?

Bruce: Thanks man! I think it took me around 30-45 minutes to get the brake lines and fuel lines painted. In short............I'm glad that parts over! I was a nervous wreck during the whole painting process!!! Dan: Thanks for the support bud! The way this build is progressing (or slowly progressing in this case) every little bit counts! -
I bought this kit just so I could use the cowl gun cover out of it..........which Eduard replaced for me so now I have a bright and shiny new kit here. I'm getting the D-9 itch all over again. When I build this I may throw a set of PE seat belts at it , otherwise I'll build it mostly OOB. Everything you need is practically there!!

Think Pink: Engine In, Suspension Started
mustang1989 replied to FASTBACK340's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Backtracking just a smidge here..........That idea for using the resistor with the leads is an excellent idea!!! I happen to have a couple. Will be using that for my next build. This build going on in here rocks!!! Great detail John! -
Sounds like a handful of a kit! I wonder what they were thinking when they updated the fuselage and not the wings???????? If I were in the market for a 1:32 D-9 I'd probably go with that new Hasegawa offering. Since I build 1:48, Eduard has 'em all smoked in the way of detail OOB / bang for the buck areas. True they are a little tricky to build at first but once you've built a couple and watch others build theirs (by way of watching folks in a Group Build) you get the hang of all the barriers and hurdles and overcome those fairly quickly.

Man that is an impressive job under the hood of that thing! Looks good Albert!! While not much in the overall progress of this build, I did manage to start painting the suspension and differential today. Still gotta bring out the detail for the rear springs, paint some of the front suspension areas and paint the driveshaft but we're getting closer all the time.............. -

Lookin' good on that motor! It'll look even better with the color corrections! -
I've seen some good builds come out of Revells Ju-88. Man those guys are really getting their act together with all this new tool stuff as of late. I don't, however , remember hearing anything good about the accuracy of the Ju-87 G-2. I have a G-2 but its the old Monogram kit, nuff said about that. lol

Aww man Pat!!! I feel for ya on that airbrush!! Glad you had the success on the Transam though!! I would assume that the letters have to come off of the hood before using the PE ones. I dunno....I think I'd leave the molded one's alone and paint those but that's me. I'd be real leery of the PE letters. Just my

I like it!!! I'm a big Mustang fan anyhow so I'm in on this one!

Dan: I thought it was cool too but 1400 bucks??? That's a lot of friggin' money!! Ok it's update time. I spent alot time this morning on the chassis detailing and painting the brake and fuel lines, removing all the seam lines and flash from the differential and the front suspension (this was enough to drive a sane man crazy) and test fitting all the parts. I also broke out my spare kit that's molded in white and the spare tire set that I have for my 66 Mustang and put every thing together in a mock up to see if I could get the stance and the tire / fenderwell clearances I needed....particularly at the rear of the car. I had to mess with the spacing of the wheel backing a little but I got everything together and the mock up/ test fit yielded promising results. Here's how the stance will look: -

Thanks Dan and Randy! You know I was toolin' around on my email and got an advertisement for a 1:8 scale Lamborghini Countach LP 500. This isn't related to my build but I just had to comment on this. There aint no way I've got this kind of money laying around!!!! Check it out.
