  1. I'll definitely be watching this one JR!!
  2. Thanks fellas!! Been a while since I was in here but it's been a busy month. I've spent the last WEEK cleaning the body up. It took some fancy footwork but I got the body whipped into shape and primed. Before: and after: Before: and after: Before: aaaaaaaaand after:
  3. I'm really liking the stance/ overall look that this one's got Bruce.
  4. Man that chassis looks GREAT!!! Awesome use of the colors & different shades/ lusters to bring out the details.
  5. Thanks Bob. Things are getting a little better as of late. Progress on this bro?
  6. Un................frickin' BELIEVABLE!! Such great work on this bird and absolutely love the photography. You really brought this model to life with that display mount from Factory Direct Models. Your efforts are to be truly commended JP.
  7. Man you are straight up killin' this thing Steve!! Your attention to detail is second to NONE bro.
  8. Thanks Jeremy!! 'Preciate it Carl!! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand the interior is now finished!!! The rough edges between the borders of the two tone seats is ALOT less noticeable in real life and is more the camera picking these up. I decided to go with decals from the Foose FD-100 kit for the light gray portion of the seats which resulted in a cleaner demarkation line than I could've done with paint. Masking on these irregular surfaces to achieve the same effect would've been dang near impossible. This interior was almost as difficult as the '67 Mustang interior that I just got through with a few months ago. LOTS of masking and LOTS of different shades of black with the details being picked out. Now..............moving on to the car body. Completed Interior Shots:
  9. I'm like Codi in regrd to learning from your builds but totally get the busy schedule as well. Congratulations on the win John.
  10. BTW....progress is coming along nicely. That Lawman 55 Gasser looks bad A$$!! I may have to source the cals & wheels and build that one. WOW
  11. All the time. Alot of times, I'll be building along and the build will just take off in a whole new direction.
  12. Thanks Mike!! Thanks Alan! No sir, it's the Tamiya D-9 kit; however, I did use the Eduard landing gear struts, cowl gun cover/ access panel, port side wing cannon access cover and sliding canopy section in order to liven the build up somewhat. The Tamiya landing gear struts were WAY too short, so I used the longer Eduard struts to correct that.
  13. I'll do it Bob. Haven't been in contact with anybody as of late. Work is trying to kill me I think. lol
  14. Thanks Mike. Actually, it's what I feel the most comfortable with and is what I was building prior to my first auto model since my teenage years 8 years ago. Just got through with this one this last year. Franz Stigler's Me-262 from JV44- "White 3" Then there's my Fw190 D-9 "Black 10" from III Gruppe in the closing months of the war:
  15. Welp.....this all came in the mail today. There's a friend of mine that has been working away on his Kingfisher and I've always wanted to build a Kingfisher BUT....never liked the Monogram kit. When I went on a search for a possible newly released kit from a possibly different manufacturer, I turned up with nothing but all these newer released Monogram/ Revell kits. However, I did find an update set from Flightline Engineering that was worth its weight in gold. Pretty much every aspect of this kit has been upgraded/ revised by this guy. Beautiful update set for around $50 shipped. In any case, Tom, if you're in here....thanks for the inspiration. I hope to start this holy grail build very soon:
  16. This outta be a fun build Bob!! Hope you had a good Thanksgiving brother.
  17. Such a great kit. I seen and heard nothing but good stuff about this one. Brilliant start up and am looking forward to the continued progress.
  18. The paint finish on this one is "tops" Bob!! A real shame about the taillights and rear window. Looks like AMT pulled a vintage Revell move on the tail lights there but knowing your skill set, I'm sure you'll negotiate this obstacle very well. Looking forward to more.
  19. Thanks Dan. It's going to take some real work to get this interior to look like the pictures. Door panels are done. One thing to note: The casual eye won't see it but .......the R/H door panel has the master switches for the windows and door locks. It would pass for a R/H drive car in part. lol Painting the inlay areas was a bit tricky but managed to get it done. Trim work and door handles were brought out using Vallejo Metal Colors Dark Aluminum for lack of anything better to paint them with. I also added the "Bose" logos on the speaker grilles.
  20. What a great job on the paint!!! Great job on this bud.
  21. I'm looking forward to this one.
  22. Love the stance and wheels & tires. This one's looking sharp bud.
  23. Thanks you guys!! Hopefully I'll be able to pull the seats off with at least some sort of finesse.
  24. Man....this car's really fighting you in regard to paint Pat. Looking forward to your recovery efforts. Stick with it pal.....this project will be a great lookin' car when it's all said and done. LOTS of good work going into this one.
  25. After a while away, I did manage to get the dash most of the way completed. Still have the steering wheel and column to go and then we're off to the seats. I managed to pick up a spare interior so I could make the painting masks for the seats and door trim so that's next up.
