  1. Very Kool my friend, very kool indeed!
  2. I double dog dare you to have decals made for the doors that say "U.S.Navy Recruting" seeing as how it's already painted battle ship gray
  3. Looking very nostalgic there Mr. Boyd. Two thumbs up from NNL HQ.
  4. Ok fellow diorama builders I need a suggestion for what to use to replicate wooden lattice fencing on my current diorama. I could scratch build it from evergreen strip or basswood but am hoping someone out there has already solved this and can suggest an alternative solution.
  5. Maybe you could find one of the AMT car hauler kits and build a load of muscle cars and hot rods for it to haul. That should keep you busy while you heal. Just remember to have fun doing it.
  6. Very inspirational work my friend! Thanks for keeping us posted..
  7. nicely done speedster with period correct parts and paint. The real cars were basically built from what ever was available at he time and then driven until they dropped then fixed and run some more.
  8. I often hesitate to be critical of others' builds as what they post is their best effort and sometimes those builders are battling physical issues that limit what they are able to do. Like my mom often said"if you can't say something nice,Don't say anything."
  9. Top shelf build. All the other superlatives appropriate for this masterpiece had been used by the time I saw this post this morning!
  10. The village we live in is one mile wide. At his 481 MPH record speed it would take him .07 seconds to drive through town or about as long as our only traffic light stays yellow. Yes I would set out my lawn chair downtown to witness that event. I would probably blink and miss it.
  11. Neat solution to the rear suspension. I love the fabrication and parts choices you're making on this build. I'll be watching with great interest from behind my own pile of projects.
  12. So this will a "C3-peat"build?
  13. This car screams to be built in scale even as a curbside version. With these photos and knowing the overall length of it a scale model of it is possible by photocopy enlargement to use as a starting point. I have tried to find the dimensions on-line with no luck. Does anyone have that info ?
  14. For as complicated as the exhaust system is the flow is beautifully graceful./ Top shelf stuff!
  15. You certainly have my attention. I live in Jackson Center,Ohio where the Airstreams are built. They just completed building a new 48 million dollar travel trailer factory that is visible from our back yard. The ability to recreate the rounded shape if those end shell caps eludes me so this style "silver bullet" style remains I still need to build. I have built a replica if Dr.Holman' s 1935 Airstreams.
  16. That sounds like a job for a bulldozer.
  17. Posts like these show that our modeling roots run deep.
  18. I wasn't aware it could be better, but if you're sure please proceed.
  19. HJK, check for a personal message from me.
  20. The abbreviation PM is for "personal message" . Sending me your email address using that method keeps your email private between you and I and away from others. This forum offers the personal message service.I am having eye surgery tomorrow morning so it will take a few days to respond.
  21. Are you willing to share your reference photos? I would love to do something similar myself.
  22. Jergen, I built a Weaver Auto Carne from scratch a couple years ago a have a lot of reference photos and drawings I made while building it. Mine is mounted on a '25 Ford model TT chassis with a wooden cab and tons of detail. If you PM me your email address I will gladly send you as much information as you can possibly need to construct your own Weaver Auto Crane.
