Does anyone know if resin or printed kits in 1/25 scale of either the Ohio State electric "Buckeye Bullet"or the Poteet and Main "Speed Deamon""Bonneville cars?
This is certainly an intriguing project. I have built entire dios based off of a single verifiable dimension like the roof height of the vehicle or a person visible in the photo. Personally I would start with the building structure itself and scale the final size be determined by the number of vehicles you decide to include. One thing I would not do is place it on a square base. I read an article by a professional modeler who never used square base. Instead he built each one with at least one odd angle to the base. Your inspiration subject is very unique and screams for something like that.
Please keep us posted.
A little too crowded for me but the details are spot on. Great and very realistic work. I was concerned about the spots on the floor and your dog's level of being house broken until you added the car into your photos
This thread reminds me of a line from a very old song that goes " Accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative". Get rid of the negative influences in your life if possible and work on the things that give you joy.
Glad building models is having a positive effect in your recovery. I have built during recovery from some surgery myself so I know how rewarding it can be.
It's nice to hear about the positive aspects of our common hobby for you. If there's any place for inspiration for whatever you like to build it's right here. Build what you like the way you like.
You could combine the upper section of another Suburban body minus the roof section over the interior with the lower section of the boat for a totally custom boat. Agreeably a Lot more effort but also a really unique end result.
I do a fair amount of scratch building using mostly polystyrene sheet and shapes. I typically will pre-bend strips around a similar shaped object to avoid breakage and always gradually attach using CA glue and apply kicker to be sure the parts don't come loose. When working on things like those strips on a vinyl top mentioned above I recommend drawing a nice straight line in pencil to help parts aligned correctly.
As an alternative to always using round styrene like the air intake tubes shown earlier I would suggest using copper wire applied with CA. It achieves the texture you want and conforms well to curves.
Yes,OH is the proper abbreviation for the state of Ohio. This part of the state is mostly flat and corn and soy bean farming is the main use for the ground. There is also a huge manufacturing Industrial base here as well for automobiles, and many other things as well as oil refining and believe it or not Army tanks. The Abrahams tank plant is only 30 miles north of our home.
Our climate is temperate with low temperatures in the winter of low teens and a few days in the 90's degrees Fahrenheit.
