JUST finished this one last night. Still have a few small decals to apply (center caps/axles/fender rubber marks/contingency decals) Car is painted w/ Tamiya Mica Silver with Tamiya Metallic Orange over top and Tamiya clear. I did very minimal polishing to it. VERY minimal. Didnt wanna rub any color off the trim or spoiler on accident. M.A.D. Resin pre-wired distributor and MSD box. Custom license plate by me No underhood pics for some reason... but they'll be posted. I really liked this kit. Only complains are how the finished chassis fits into the body. I shaved the chassis plate down behind the rear wheel tubs considerably to get it in the body... And the other thing is, you practically have to install the headlight buckets AFTER the finished chassis is in the body... because when you push them in there where you think they look good, and glue them in place, the chassis will push them right back out. Also if you plan on putting the 5.0 decals on... shave the molded in emblems off... because they're NOT the same size... if you look close you'll see. More pics coming soon! Let me know what you think!

How much BMF gets tossed?
JTalmage replied to Fanof69's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If you're me, you think it looks fantastic on the site of the AMT display case trailer, then you accidentally bend it and fill it full of wrinkles... only to have just wasted half of a sheet. Oops. -

It's a good looking truck, but may I suggest more pics and better lighting? -
How many builds do you work on at a time?
JTalmage replied to MrBuick's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I did the math, and with the amount of kits I have yet to build (new not including rebuilders) if I build 1 a month, it would take me 15 years or just over to finish all of them. That's depressing. -

JTalmage replied to MrBuick's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I hate working on any more than 1 at a time because I go a.d.d. and don't finish anything. So I force myself to stick with 1 build on the bench at a time and I finish them so much quicker. Although right now I'm breaking my own rules and building 3 at once... truck, trailer, racecar. -
Hard to believe Slixx didn't catch that. Beautiful recreation btw, love that movie. I wish it would be restored and cleaned up a little... I have it on DVD and the quality isn't good.

Great looking Starliner! I finally found a stock kit of a Starliner... now it's just a matter of deciding how I want to build it!

I have about a half dozen of the monogram '30 5 window kits. Plus a few rebuilders and some parts kits, in all 3 shades of green they came in. Might have to get rid of a few once this new kit lands. Trans and rearend don't bother me. Just happy to have the new kit coming. Someone will make the stuff in resin I'm sure.

Beautiful! You really put out some beautiful Fords! -
I recently discovered 3 albums by a short lived Australian horror-psychobilly band called Zombie Ghost Train... really catchy stuff.. First album, Monster Formal Wear Followed by Glad Rags & Body Bags And their final album, Dealing The Death Card... before the singer went on to pursue his solo honky-tonk career...

Late '50s Slingshot Dragster: a little more, Feb. 27
JTalmage replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Every time I see one of those double dragster kits or tony nancy kits at the hobby shop I almost grab one for this very reason... but then I realize it will take me forever to get to it and leave it on the shelf. Looking good!
