  1. Is it just me or does anyone else want to make them rusty to complete their "look" haha
  2. I tried bmf... and it looked great until the panel bowed in (since the ends are curved ) which it then became wrinkle city and I wasteda half sheet of bmf. I said forget it and took my red scuff pad gently to it and now it as a brushed aluminum effect. Good enough.... not going thru that again any time soon. And yes, everyone, it was a buffing metalizer
  3. That is the culmination of about 30mins worth of buffing.
  4. So I was talking to a coworker about this today and he thought I might try a buffing wheel at low speed on a dremel... might give it a shot
  5. I tried a microfiber towel at first and couldnt put enough friction to it because of that. So then I switched to a paper towel and started getting results. But there's a fine line between too much and not enough... and it's very tiring and gets rather warm! I'll post a picture... just a sec.
  6. On a '32, I like the 3 window.... but on a '30-'31.... I'll take a 5 window all day long.
  7. Painted some panels with model masters/testors aluminum plate metalizer (spray can) and let it dry for about 2 days and then tried to buff it... MAN what a pain in the butt!! I am using a paper towel as that's the only thing I've found that will really do anything. I've buffed for quite a while, and the only way I can get it to start changing is if I push down hard, and go fast to create friction/heat. Were my spray coats too wet? Should I respray and just dust it? Can I use an aluminum polish? At the rate I'm going I wouldn't be done by next month and I'll probably break the parts doing it!
  8. Yep, GT350R has them. GT350 does not. Oh and if you have a mustang or cobra you don't want you can just give em to me
  9. Thom Taylor 34 roadster (I want one!) 68 Corvette L-88 racecar 1 or 2 versions of the Shelby Cobra Obviously the '32 Ford and the GT350R the blue 37-ish ford convertible w/ the little trailer had em too Thats all I can think of... There's a little shop that specializes in used model car parts that I frequent, and I dig thru the tire bins looking specifically for those tires with the lettering on em! Among others of course. Came away with quite a few.
  10. Looks really good in paint! can't wait to see it on the shelf and grab one
  11. Wow. I really enjoy this. Loved the show, and I've got a Rockford firebird in the works.
  12. That would be nice if someone could get in touch w/ Bob. I need every resin part for a '65 Fairlaine... a '68 Torino GT grille.. and a couple other bits.
  13. Here's the only one I have.
  14. It's always nice to get a dedicated bench. I built one last year and don't regret it. It's not as big of a space as I'd like but it works. I've got far more clutter and supplies now than this picture.
  15. Someone here once told me there's a particular size of brass rod available at most good hobby shops... they sell it in like 3 or 4ft lengths... great for making axles out of. I'll have to get the size when I get home.
  16. Stacks!
  17. Not sure if you're familiar with the youtube series Roadkill as stated above.... but this definitely sounds like something they would do... bring a tool kit, gas can, tire inflator, oil, battery, and spark plugs/tune up kit, LED flashlights for working on it on the side of the road and I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting! LOL Most of all, it would be great if you filmed or photographed your journey in that truck. Definitely would be a great experience.
  18. Super cool! If I had more scrap cars, I'd do something like this. Always wanted to.
  19. This thing is getting better and better!
  20. Lets just hope someone doesnt buy their molds/stock and then just sit on them and do nothing... I'm regretting not getting my small order in sooner... hopefully they'll reopen the site before the end of the year so I can get my order in.
  21. I had to use DOT-3 brake fluid, but it was by no means a fast process. I had to leave it in there for almost 2 days to get it to fully lose its grip.
  22. Love that southwestern rust finish!
  23. Looks good! Also looks like Kowalski got ahold of it and put his plates on it
  24. Saw this on facebook the other day.... I could use one, or 5 of them lol
  25. I've not touched my Bronco at all. Been rushing to finish 3 builds for my local club meet in march.
