  1. I painted it so long along I cannot say for sure - probably a Testors red. Other things not evident are a resin rear end, photo etch grille, wheel center emblems, and taillight trim, windshield washer bag, and roll bar. The funny thing is in the group picture I forgot to include the AMT 67 GT350 I built several years ago.
  2. I have not built one yet but it looks like a 427 chassis and engine to me. Compare it next to Revell 427 to decide which is more or less accurate.
  3. For the record this weather bites.
  4. Here are a few closeups w/o flash.
  5. Two more pics.
  6. The recent build has some company of diecasts.
  7. After a long time, a lot of parts from many sources and some lousy winter days, I have finished this one for now. The only things I may add later are plug wires and the seat belts that hang from the roll bar. This began as a AMT 68 Shelby with a Mini Exotics conversion plus some parts from the AMT 67GT350.
  8. It goes to show you sometimes what you think is correct when you see a real car it actually isn't. The "real" R model I saw would be what I call a private entry 66 Shelby with some 65 R model mods. The Monogram kit represents a 65 R model fairly accurately which you have replicated. The only thing I see is if you remove the battery (mounted in trunk) and radio, and add the shock tower braces and a Monte carlo bar you will be good to go. R models also had stock looking valve covers if you care to take it that degree of accuracy.
  9. Saw a nice "R model" at a car show last weekend. It has the 66 dash, style quarter windows and side scoops so I'm guessing it's not a factory R model.
  10. The Boss 429 had the horns relocated and lines and fittings and lines for the oil cooler. Changes those things should be an easy fix.
  11. Here is a nice picture of a stock 302 engine for reference.
  12. I have spare parts for this kit if you need them.
  13. You may want to "upgrade" under the hood with replacement inner fender and adding shock tower braces.
  14. Heading down to Boca Raton FL tomorrow. To heck with this zero degree BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH.
  15. I saw these parts on Ebay a few weeks ago. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Missing-Link-Resin-AMT-Ford-Mustang-Boss-Mach-correct-front-bumper-amp-grille-/351289891129?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=imz%252F%252F257pdT%252FxyCGG4oC2knvwmY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc If I recall about 10 years ago I asked Norm of R&MCO if he would cast the 71-72 style bumper for the AMT and MPC kits and he did. Whether he still has the molds is another question.
  16. For the flat hood check with Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland. I had Norm cast me a few from a hood I cut out of the Johan funny car so it would fit the AMT/MPC Mustangs.
  17. Picture from that website of the car at Daytona.
  18. Now here is a Cobra barn find.
  19. Great job on the weathering. I can't remember which Ford kit has heads that has the rockers which would look cool. A 427 Cobra body was made of aluminum and most kits are fiberglass.
  20. Very cool Eleanor. The license plates are on Ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-25-scale-model-Gone-In-60-Seconds-Eleanor-Mustang-car-license-tag-plates-/181088197973?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a29b29d55
  21. The 67 Shelby GT500 is the winner. I'll post more pictures when it's done.
  22. Here are three kits I started a very long time ago and are in various stages of completion. 68 Shelby with Mini Exotics 67 Shelby conversion kit perhaps 80% complete. Ford J car box stock perhaps 50% complete AMT 289 Cobra (box stock body and chassis painted) perhaps 40% complete The first five votes for whichever model is the one I will complete first. Feel free to list your 1st, 2nd and third choice too. Thanks for looking.
  23. Way cool. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Icon-Models-1-8-Scale-1970-Ford-Cleveland-351-Engine-/191509851346?pt=AU_Toys_Hobbies_Diecast_Vehicles&hash=item2c96e06cd2
  24. I found two more engines in my parts box.
