Very cool. What decals did you use? -
Kevin Lutz (Missing Link) sells the red lenses.

Looking forward to following along on these. -
If you are open to suggestions I can male a few recommendations. I’ve built about eighth versions of this kit from two resin convertible conversions to ones with the GT350 engine compartment to just out of the box. THe chrome grille and bumper piece is part of the front end of the car and should be body color (except for the grill, bumper and trim around the edge. The kit wheels are pretty bad. The mold is pretty old of this kit and my dream would be if Round2 revised it with a better engine compartment. The emblems on the fenders should be covered with BMF before painting otherwise a few paints coats will obscure them. Ive used Keith Marks decals for a few I built and you can also get the guages from an Ebay seller. THey are to scale which means they are really small and have to be cut out and glued in. It is a kit that you can make a lot of improvements or accept as is and build box stock. Do you have a color choice in mind?

Yes. The hood and area behind the rear seats are different than the original AMT molds just to name a few differences. Round2 has “rebranded” a lot of older MPC kits as AMT.

Testors (IMC) Ford Mk IV
vamach1 replied to THarrison351's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
Very nice work and modifications for the Sebring version. Ive built the IMC and MPC MKIVs and they are not easy but for a fifty plus year old kit it looks great. -

Very cool. I got to see the car about five years ago before it made the rounds and was sold at auction. -

I purchased this 1972 Mustang Olympic Sprint convertible back in July. It is the third one I have owned of the fifty made for the DC Cherry Blossom parade festival. When I sold the previous two I figured when the time was right I would get another and this one is in great condition. The first picture is at the recent Hotwheels show in El Segundo CA and the rest are of the 2nd one I owned.

Sounds like a nice project for the Mach1. Please fill in those vents on the back of the hood as they were not there on any 71-73 Mustang.
-
Looking great. Is that a 3D printed carb? The kit one is far less detailed.

Great looking grabber Mach1.

I just visited the Segerstrom Shelby Event center today and was surprised to see some 351 and 429 Mach1s and Boss 351s.

Looks like the same molds as the Eagles Race brand that sold back in the 1990s.

Mustangs and Mustangs.
vamach1 replied to Steve "Stangfreak? Mason's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Welcome Steve and cool builds. I have been a fan of Mustangs ever since I bought a 72 Mach1 in 1976. -
Another great build.
-
Looking great and I am biased when it comes to Mustangs but this is one of the best new kits to come out in a very long time.
-
Beautiful build.

Historic Racing Miniatures Parts

Brad is dealing with chemo treatments. I saw him Saturday and I got the impression he is probably done casting. Norm may still have some of his HRM stock. Here’s the R&M Co of MD display at the last MAMA meeting. Norm plans to be at the ACME show in October. Not sure if Norm will be casting HRM parts.
