  1. If Shelby were alive he would sure for sure. ?
  2. I will chime in later with some pictures of some of the HRM kits (unbuilt) and whatever else I dig up I forgot I have later today. I am so fortunate to have seen JC and Gary’s collections in person.
  3. The 1:1 car had the wheels in the FoMoCo pictures above. Not sure where those awful four ug wheels came from - probably excess inventory in a Japanese warehouse and someone thought hey throw some cool mag wheels in there those Japanese kids will not know the difference.
  4. I got my last issue of Mustang Monthly in January. No warning or anything - just heard about it on Facebook. Such is life at these big publishers I guess. I guess Cruz has to find another part-time job now. ?
  5. There were four 66 GT350 convertibles made for testing purposes (yellow, blue, red and green). Needless to say they are extremely valuable today (excess of $1M) and were even equipped with A/C. It’s on my list to build one using this kit and the regular convertible kit.
  6. As you probably know the Mach1 show car got an update for the show circuit so this represents the revised one with the more aggressive snout. I have only seen pictures of the cars in a burgundy metallic color and with the same wheels on both variations. Given the odd scale finding “correct” wheels isn’t in the cards but it my knowledge this was the only model kit of this latter version.
  7. It’s not Ebay but the USPS that makes you ship any package over 14 ounces by priority mail. I asked the clerk but sometimes if you use the self service it will not give you that option if the box is over a certain size but not weight. I have underpriced shipping too by mistake but many things I have sold cost me next to nothing so if the buyer is happy it’s one less thing cluttering up my house.
  8. I have the Sunny kit and aside from a few unique parts as others have said it’s not as bad as putting a Cobra badge on a Miata but if nothing else it’s a starting point if you want to mix and match parts with some of the HRM parts. So if it’s over $20 I’d say pass unless you really got to have it for the box art and maybe the decals or wheels.
  9. I guess this should not surprise anyone at this point. At least we have this forum as a means to share our builds to modelers arround the world which in a way is a whole lot better than before the internet when it was not possible in real time. Looking forward to 2021 for now.
  10. Very nice score and it looks in great shape with the box art just like the paint. Anyone know who the Alexander brothers were and what was customized? I am guessing it was some of the odd looking parts that came in kits of that era that I have seen on the side of the box or in the instructions.
  11. It’s basically a slot car body so the the bumpers are molded in. I had a 2nd body so I modified the Mobogram 70 Mach1 chassis to fit the 69 body.
  12. Do I get bonus points if I finish any of these by Oct 1st? ? Note that three of these are 1/32 scale.
  13. I was thinking you might have been bidding. ?. I am just surprised how much these old kits go for given how simple they are. Thanks for helping someone else pay more ? but it looks much better than the two I sold of which one was a resin copy with a hodgepodge of 66 coupe parts. The box alone you got with yours is probably worth a lot by itself. I did not include an original box I have with that sale (the 65 GT350 version) as to me the box art was cool but if I paid big $$$ for an unbuilt one I would be pretty disappointed as there is very little AMT did even try to make the standard GT into what would pass for an accurate 1965 GT350 with a 289 HiPo and the side exhaust etc. etc.
  14. Nice score Ace on the 250 GTO. I did not know there were three versions. It’s too bad Gunze did the Daytona Coupe without and engine and with the metal chassis. An all plastic kit with an engine would have been nice but it was not in the cards I guess. If I recall the Cobra kit was about $50 retail which probably intimidated the average builder but that seems like a deal now despite the level of difficulty and the photo-etch parts, etc. I broke down and bought the Cobra Kit at the Squadron Shop in Wheaton Maryland in the 1990’s as it was not a kit you would find in the mega toy stores.
  15. Add my Mystic Chome Cobra to the list of models started and not finished due to Modelers Attention Deficit Disorder. I built the burgundy one a long time ago (probably Testors spray) and the convertible is the Testors Color shift paint. You guys know I am a diehard Mustang guy but there’s something about the older Mustangs that just seem to be more interesting with regard to the interiors colors and chassis from a model building perspective. Anyway, I hope to finish something I already painted months or year ago as the backlog is probably twenty at the moment of various year Mustangs. Assuming I go with plain old Ford grey interior for this convertible maybe the end of summer is not a stretch.
  16. 2nd that Ray. I have picked up some older gluebombs here and there but that one Snake Mesner looks to have been painted pretty well assuming it was done many decades ago - maybe a Pactra color. I bought a fastback the Philly NNL but it may actually be a promo someone painted but it had a crack so it will need to be redone. As I was too young and overseas when most of annual kits came out I cannot ever remember seeing one unbuilt for anything less than crazy money (in my opinion). 100% agree with Mesner these built ups are a great to get a rare kit without spending your kids inheritance.
  17. Look forward to your builds.
  18. I have seen some resin cast taillight for various Fords but only at NNL type shows. Welcome to the forum and I think you will enjoy many hours here but it will be worth every minute. Rex aka vamach1
  19. Contact Kevin Lutz kawifreek@msn.com or checkout the Missing Link Facebook page. He also sells on EBay. He should have the bumpers and grilles but the other parts (ram air) were not part of his regular offerings. I loaned him the “masters” so that is where the first ones came from but I cannot say if there are any left. I still have the original parts set aside. Perhaps if there is enough interest Keven or George53 can make some more (NNL East anyone?). With the Round2 AMT 007 Mach1 coming out the ram-air would be a nice under hood accessory as would the special air cleaner assembly (similar to a Boss 429) to make a 351C or 429SCJ Mach1. Of course finding correct version of either of these engines is another story. My batch of about a dozen 71-73 Mustang builds is going slower than I hoped but I did finish a 72 sprint about a month ago that came out pretty good. I have posted that build along with several other 71-73 Mustangs (AMT, MPC, Testors) the last few years.
  20. Great looking 427 which I’m sure will be popular.
  21. Yes these old tires will melt over time. I managed to keep these two intact but for how long is anyone’s guess.
  22. I have actually seen so few Mustang II kits built what are the chances of two red Mach1’s in the same thread. I am sure most of have built “bad” kits but sometimes you have to delve into that dark world to appreciate the good kits. ?
  23. It’s too bad about the interior but it is surprising Entex did a Mustang II but skipped so many other American cars that would be more popular to modelers. It was a great seller car for the 70’s compared to say the “big” Mustangs like the one I could not resist buying as a used car in 1976. Nice job by the way - it’s always cool to have a model of a car you owned.
  24. Some pictures are also on Scalemates of HRM kits and parts.
  25. Individuals have posted many of Brad’s kits and parts on their Fotki pages. Here are are a few examples which came up in a quick search.
