do you go to the eye dr for this or a regular dr?

does anyone know if the hobby lobby will still have the 40% off models tomorrow? i want to get another 63 corvette kit, but not for the full retail for sure

i really like the ford courier pickup. thats probably the only one im looking forward to in this set

it looks perfect. i found it amazingly interesting how you did the window chrome. looks perfect. i might have to try it

at this point, most of my kits are older kits from ebay. rarely do i buy brand new kits. if they raise the prices higher, i wont buy anymore. i have more than enough kits to last the rest of my life, literally.

not sure if this pleases me or irks me, but i found a bird made a nest in the wreath of our front door. there is a lot of eggs in it too.

This is both a pleased and irked me today. i received the AMT 72 chevy coca cola pickup today from amazon that i have been looking for everywhere. however, amazon packaged it in a sealed paper bad (not an exaggeration, it was a paper bag with no padding). the kit box was completely smashed on all sides. thankfully the model doesnt appear damaged and i am not a collector, so really it doesnt matter if its smashed. im excited i got the kit, but i really wish amazon would stop using the bag

My preference in real life car is 65 then 63 then 67. However, the 1/8 is definitely going to be too big. I really dont like the stock hood of the 67 with the big block vent. It looks cheesey to me. I know its how gm did it, but i just dont like it. I actually prefer the fake vents on the 63

How often do you guys do models? Every day, 1 time per week? Etc For me i probably work on something for a model 4 days a week. Sometimes is just to lay down paint, or just sand, so it might be 10 minutes or if im doing a full detail or build up time it could be a few hours

I am not speaking from direct experience but only what i have researched. these booths, which are also available on Amazon, do not have a sealed motor. If i remember correctly, they have a brushed motor, which can and does spark. From what i have read, the sparks can cause the paint to ignite if its flammable paint. Again I have not direct experience just previously seen research

Does it have a cover or something to keep dust and cat hair from falling on the model when its drying? No matter how much vacuuming we do, there is always something landing in my wet paint

I have greatly interest in this as well. I used to just spray in the hallway holding the model with a glove and had dist in my models. if i got one dust free spray i would leave it at that. I recently bought a big Tupperware box from target that has a snap lid and it works great for keeping the dust out, but it has no exhaust. so im left spraying next to the open window and doors with the fan on to direct the spray outside. Not healthy im sure.

Excellent video. thank you for linking. One thing about the lhd/rhd, i believe the us version has different side mirrors and in a different location. On the us they are on the door.

What is this guy using to mask those parts?
youpey replied to Phaddie's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I always use this liquid mask. you have to put it in thick and it takes overnight to dry, but its excellent https://www.hobbytown.com/bob-dively-liquid-masking-film-4-oz-divr3000/p13913 -
Whats funny is i read an article that said there was going to be a new car shortage. I thought to myself why, and assumed it was going to be one of thise made up things to drive people to the dealerships. Yes, im looking at you toilet paper companies.
-
thank you very much for this information. i am not sure which i will pick at this point. the 1/8 scale 65 might be too big. looking online, its almost 2 foot long. thank you again

i have been looking at the 1963,65 and 67 corvettes that are in large scale. monogram (rebranded as revell) 1965 corvette 1/8 scale monogram 1967 corvette 1/12 scale mpc 1963 corvette 1/16 scale my question is, is there one that builds up cleaner/better than the rest? i prefer the 65 model year over all of them, but honestly if one is much better than the others, i dont have a preference. if the kit is not good quality or doesnt build/fit together nicely, i will probably never finish it. they all seem about the same as far as price on ebay, so that isnt a concern either. also, if there is one that is really bad as far as quality in representation, meaning, it has issues like the roof is not representative of the real car, that is important to me too. any help is greatly appreciated. i searched online, but i havent found much comparing these kits to each other.

i went on saturday and got the amt 63 vette and the revell porsche tractor. i had both on my want list for so long, and figured it was as good of a time as any to get them. the tractor will probably be used in my farm dio, and the 63 vette i am working on now. i am surprised about the vette. i typically dont like AMT kits, and besides the enormous amounts of flash on nearly every piece, its actually a nice kit. with that said, i have the monogram 65 vette on order, which is scheduled to be delivered friday. i will drop the 63 like a hot potato when the 65 arrives. that was my one of my very favorite kits when i was a kid. i am going to try to really take my time and build my childhood dream car

if its the same one i am thinking of, i think that might not be too far from where i live. its been a long time since i drove on 33 though, since before covid.

Why do people dig up these old threads???
youpey replied to Force's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
i think it is amazing to necro an old thread about complaining about people who necro old threads. (is this irony? im never really sure about what constitutes irony) you have won the internet this week ? -
