  1. Check with Chief Joseph at Fireball Modelworks, he might be able to help.
  2. There are several resin suppliers that can help you with your wheel/tire and even chassis/driveline choices depending on which route you go. You show the ability to do some scratchbuilding so you may be able to do some of the work yourself, saving time and money in the process. I think a 4wd is the way to go, either stock or lifted, but that is my preference.
  3. I think those are for the 69-73 model years, Jon wasn't clear what year he was looking for.
  4. Beautiful models Yuri, well detailed and photographed.
  5. Unlike the modern trucks of today, crew cab trucks from the 70's & 80's were considered work trucks and heavily used by governments and utility fleets. Many were 4wd, some were 2wd, but back then they were all at least a 3/4 heavy duty chassis. This being your build, it would and could be possible that some creative type builder went the lowered half ton route as well. Will be interesting to see this one when it's done, you are off to a nice start!
  6. oooooh! Just added to my list of Gotta Haves! Thanks
  7. Greg, The column shifter is correct for this model as it depicts the 3 speed manual. The floor shifter you see is for the 4wd system. If the vehicle had an automatic it would have been column shifted like the manual. Nice looking model, I need to get busy on my Broncos!
  8. Just when I thought I was ready to place an order, you go and add some more cool stuff! I am in for one or two of these dump beds.
  9. Glad to hear you are getting the necessary care to continue the fight Harry! Please let us know what we can do to help you in your time of need. Continued prayers and wishes for a full recovery for you and your family.
  10. I suspect that someone will offer those flares to us in the aftermarket sooner rather than later. Would love to see that half cab and flares in another kit release. They could do several different versions depending on their budget.
  11. Just saw the ad for the coming week and they still have model kits at 20% off. This has become their strategy the last couple of years during the holidays. As far as Michael's, I haven't seen much there that is that new or recent.
  12. Very nice! Jimmy Flintstone is offering a Econoline van of that vintage if you want to give another shot at replicating that van.
  13. Another great trade with Casey, always a flawless transaction and we somehow think of additional stuff to trade after the boxes ship!
  14. The Testors Model Master Lacquer line has a color Nassau Blue that is pretty close to the color on your chart.
  15. Your best bet is to email Gregg directly, he doesn't search the forum here. There have been issues (no pun intended) regarding the publishing and shipping as well as the cost involved to get the magazine to press.
  16. I was in the one in Matthews NC yesterday. The same kits as mentioned above, mostly Lindbergs. I did venture over to the automotive and hardware sections and they have a bunch of 3M assortment packs of sandpaper 320-1500 grit as well as individual packages in various grits. Not much in the paint section but if you look you might find some primer.
  17. No dents or rust holes? Love the different colored panels. That engine swap makes it a sleeper.
  18. I like the way this is taking shape, but I have to ask, isn't it sitting a little LOW for you? LOL!
  19. Thanks for sharing Gerry, a good friend of mine is involved with this show and has been asking me to travel back to Chicago for the show the last couple of years. The yellow 69 SS396 Chevelle on page 3 belongs to a former boss of mine. He has been busy over the years building and selling muscle cars.
  20. That looks nice! I like that green, not the usual red or orange Camaro.
  21. Looking good Scott! Not to rush you but it is only 6 weeks until the show, are you going to have it done in time?
  22. Interesting topic and responses. I was at a Michael's today with a 50% off coupon and could not find anything of interest to me. I have a large collection and like most have stated, enough to last me a couple of lifetimes. It is sad that the prices have become what they are, but I think we all know that the model companies have to raise the prices some due to lower volume. I have scaled back buying this year for several reasons- finances, time, need, space - and don't see me buying like I used to any time soon. Like others, reality is setting in and impulse buying is something of the past. I love a good bargain, so swap meets, closeout stores, coupons and trades with forum members is how I am spending my money. $30 kits don't scare me, but they better get my interest because otherwise I won't be spending my money on them. So far I see me spending less next year than I did this year and unless the model companies bring out some all new kits, that will hold true.
  23. We are all hopeful for a full, speedy recovery Jim. As far as the magazine, I am sure Gregg is on it and others will step up to get it compiled and ready for publishing. The forum seems to have been relatively tame with little or no drama over the last year and maybe we can all play nice. Harry has been a huge part of both the forum and magazine for so long and I sure hope he continues to be.
