  1. The correct spelling of Canada is: C - eh- N- eh- D- eh ! My first trip there was 10 years ago and when I rent to the rental car counter, the agent was polite and reminded me that speed limit signs and road signs were in kilometers and not miles. He went through some other traffic laws and pointers and when he got done, asked if I had any questions. Being the smart @$$ that I am, I asked him which side of the road should I drive on? He took me seriously and said it was the same as the USA !
  2. It's a hoax, can't believe everything on the internet Vince!
  3. As someone who has spent better than 30 years in the automotive biz (parts, service, aftermarket sales, manufacturing) there are several schools of thought on the subject. 1. Depending on how the vehicle is driven and the climate in which it operates, flushing the brake fluid is a good idea. Higher humidity and infrequent vehicle use can contribute to the demise of the fluid. 2. It is a service that ALL vehicle manufacturers and MANY shops will DEFINITELY tell you is necessary for proper operation of your vehicle, but reality it is a service that doesn't always need to be done. If major work is done to a brake system ( caliper replacement, wheel cylinder replacement or master cylinder replacement), most of the brake fluid will be replaced anyway. 3. Modern brake fluid (Dot 4 and higher) is more resistant to moisture and if the system is kept sealed, flushing isn't necessary. At the end of the day, it comes down to your personal decision and how you want to spend your money. I have never flushed the brake fluid in any of my vehicles and have put over 100,000 miles on several of them and haven't had a problem. Oil changes with quality oil and transmission flushes are more important to longevity in modern cars.
  4. That is very nice! I love the color, what did you use? Clean and well detailed.
  5. Great job and very realistic weathering.
  6. That is along the lines of what I was thinking. If you have some treadplate material you could also scratchbuild a bumper. I think a push bumper on a truck lifted like that looks useless as it wouldn't be real useful.
  7. My thoughts exactly. I would even go so far as to strip the chrome and re-spray them silver or maybe even go with a light gray
  8. Interesting build, should be nice when you have it done. The real vehicle you have pictured is actually a 1979 model year and there was an AMT kit offered for that vehicle. It can be hard to find and kind of expensive, but it is out there. Revell offered a 1980 version of that vehicle in a kit, but it too is hard to find and expensive. If you are looking for some similar wheels, check out Scenes Unlimited and I am sure you will find tires and wheels. Those Jerry cans on the back should be able to find easily enough.
  9. Looking good , as usual, and should be nice when you have it done! I suggest a winch bumper on the front instead of the push bar.
  10. That is looking very good Casey. makes me afraid to build mine because I don't have the patience to improve it like you have.
  11. Being reported that it might be a suicide. Too many talented people leaving us and even more sad when they do them selves in.
  12. I only saw a resin half cab, 2 pieces, no mention of flares or other pieces. The half cab was $16, plus $4 shipping, or basically the same price as a complete kit, because Tower Hobbies has this kit for $19.95 with free shipping. I think I will wait to see if Revell tools up a half cab or for that matter, I can probably create my own half cab for less than $20.
  13. Missed seeing the ACME guys but totally understand given the circumstances. It was a great show Bob and I was pleasantly surprised at how well attended it was!
  14. Should be a neat build! What are you using for the truck, a LRE?
  15. That is a great story about how the IH dealer still had those models 7 years later and you were able to buy them!
  16. I hadn't been to this show in about 5 years and my how it has grown! There were many vendors there selling a lot of plastic (including me!) and the quality of the models on the tables were unbelievable! I was able to get rid of some of my models and had a great time talking to a lot of great people.
  17. Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland has a flat hood for the 69, I will have to check and see if it will work on the 67. It's a nice resin piece.
  18. I was watching the B-J auction the other night and we all know Steve Magnante is a model builder and all around car nut, and for me, the only reason why I watch. They had a 71 Chevy Blazer come across the stage and as he was spouting off about the various upgrades and options, he threw in a bit about AMT offering a "well done scale model version of the Chevy Blazer" and I thought that was a nice gesture of him to do so! I have heard him in the past make mention of model kits and it's nice to know he is helping spread the word about our hobby.
  19. Nice job! Always thought they should have offered these in 4wd from the factory back in the day!
  20. I shudder to think what my rate is as I have so many WIP that I could focus on them (and should!) and probably have 30 completed builds! I start working at the bench with the intention of finishing one and next thing you know there is another WIP! The good news is that I have realized I need to reduce my collection for various reasons and that will drive my completion number higher! Great question.
  21. That is looking killer! Great job with the weathering and nicely done , looks so lifelike.
  22. Looking good so far, anxious to see it done!
  23. I have searched eBay several times this month and have not been able to find this, any hints on where I might find it? Would love to wait until the fender flares are ready but need to get this half top for one of my kits.
