  1. Nice job, can't decide if I want one of those or not, already have enough trailers to build!
  2. I'm in if it is the stock version, nice kit and an easy build if I remember correctly.
  3. Great job Nick, good to see you back!
  4. Nice job, very clean and well detailed!
  5. .125 is equal to 1/8th of an inch, which would be VERY thick in scale and not the easiest to work with. If you have a hobby store nearby that stocks styrene sheets, you should be okay with the .040 or .060 thick as it will look more realistic and easier to cut with an X-acto knife and a straight edge. As mentioned, if you are going for a diamond plate look, the Don Mills scale plastic diamond plate is spot on perfect. Nice work on the bed and welder, it's always good to make patterns with cardboard before cutting plastic! Any chance you have dimensions or drawings for that welder?
  6. Do you have any pictures, links or information that would benefit the rest of the forum?
  7. Never met Harry in person, but shared many PMs with him about the hobby, this forum, life and many things we had in common from me previously living in Chicago. He was a kind person, very passionate about the hobby and this forum and he felt like he had a second family here. I am hopeful that he has found peace and is free from suffering with his passing but as others have said, he leaves a huge void here on this forum and in the hobby. It will be hard to visit here without hoping to see him posting or commenting, but I think he tried to make us all better modelers and a better person with his comments. I will continue to pray for his family and hope God helps them through this difficult time. RIP Harry, you earned it.
  8. Those outside pictures really make that model. Nice details and very clean build!
  9. Looks great Chuck, your weathering skills are top notch and that came out really nice.
  10. As of today, there is not a standard wheelbase 8 foot bed available for this kit. I know of at least 3 people who started on creating corrected side panels but have yet to offer them in resin.
  11. While I do not have a copy of this kit, I do have some MCRC resin pieces and I can tell you they look just like a regular model kit, they are that good! They take great care to create high quality resin parts and their quality is up there with the best of them.
  12. New job has me in the Chicago area this week for some peer training and I couldn't be happier to be back here so I can experience some real food and see some old friends. Tonight it was Giordano's Pizza as they have a place across the street from my hotel. Not sure why it is so hard to make a decent pizza in Charlotte, but it tasted sooooo good! Of course there are leftovers, it beats the hotel breakfast! Tomorrow will be a visit to Portillo's- a beef sandwich is in order! I could do without the crappy weather, but then again it could be January instead of April!
  13. Nothing there that I need or can't live without.
  14. Very hard to read this post and not be affected by it. I truly hope for the best for Harry and his family, whatever they decide. I wish there was some way to make the pain and suffering go away for him and let him return to his old self as he was a friend to so many of us here on the forum. I have said many prayers for Harry and his family and will continue to do so as they are needed more than ever. The best we can do at this point is to continue to pray for the comfort of Harry and his family in these most difficult times.
  15. Very nice! I had the chance to buy an 83 K2500 that looked almost identical to yours but didn't have the cash. It was a low mile truck that had belonged to a friend's father and was the perfect snow plow truck, only problem was it had the typical flaking GM paint job and had some rust on the cab and hood from sitting out. You did a great job with the details, seeing yours makes me want to get a long bed from MAD!
  16. Looking good so far, should be a beauty when done!
  17. Look for the Revell F250 kit, it has an 8 foot bed and is fairly close in body style. I do not recall another kit that depicts an early 80's Ford long bed, could be wrong though.
  18. Hard to tell by the limited view in the picture, but it probably was a snow tire like tread considering the year that car was raced. Fireball Modelworks and Scenes Unlimited have similar type tires to what is likely on that car, I suggest you check their websites and also see if you can get a better picture of the tread of the tire.
  19. Nice job on that! Where did you source the wheels and tires? The bed looks like the resin 8 footer from MAD, correct?
  20. until

As luck would have it, I will be in Detroit this Sunday, however it will be after the show is over! Oh well, probably saved myself a few bucks!
  21. I like it Bill, definitely different with the flames but it fits! I have one of these to build, gotta get busy.
  22. Always thought this "Car" movie franchise was a bit far fetched and I have never sat through any of them, in a theater or on TV. The fact that they are on the 7th installment and probably have a few more in the planning stages says a lot about their audience.
  23. Glad it is working out for you Rob, best wishes to you and the family for continued enjoyment of your new surroundings.
