  1. That was me yesterday! Walked in, bought my one Foose pickup kit , paid and walked out. Went next door to Ollie's and picked up another Dan Finks Speedwagon kit and used my 15% off coupon, got the kit for $6.79 plus tax! There are times when I will buy something at full retail at HL in addition to using the 40% off coupon, but more times than not I don't.
  2. Maybe someone has figured out that modelbuilding is a somewhat solitary thing and we needed some companionship in our lives! LOL!
  3. Interested to know price and quality. I am headed to Chattanooga next week and might have to pick some up if it is a nice paint.
  4. They should do whatever it takes to bring that back, it would sell like crazy!
  5. I'm in for one!
  6. How hard would it be to have a panel body tooled up to fit on this chassis? I am thinking that would be one way to milk the tooling costs for this- a new body and some wheels and presto, another hot rod kit!
  7. Geez with all the whiny talk about how this kit is so simple you would think Revell gave us a real POS but all I am seeing is a nice kit that has a lot of cool stuff. Considering how many all new tools we get each year, I would have to say that we are lucky. Sure, some things could be better, but that statement is so true of many things, not just plastic model cars. Seeing these pictures has me in for a couple.
  8. Update to my above post. In today's mail I received my order from Chris Olson- two half cabs, a set of rear quarters with the flares and the raised hood. They look as good as regular kit parts, were packed very nicely in the box and have verrrrry little flash. Nice stuff, anxious to see what is next!
  9. Always love a 32 Ford, nice job so far!
  10. Nice job on that ! Looks like it belongs behind the Revell 57 Ford wagon!
  11. Yeah, what he said! Nice work, be a shame if this wasn't offered up either in resin or styrene.
  12. Can't wait to see what you do with the left over Datsun monster trucks now that you have pirated the wrecker equipment from them. Nice job on the weathering and love the old spoke wheels.
  13. Just wanted to add that my recent experience with Fireball was excellent. The communication before, during and after the sale was outstanding and the products were extremely nice. I must say that I would not hesitate to order again and would suggest that you can order in complete confidence.
  14. Look around, I think they are available in resin from Replicas and Miniatures, Scenes Unlimited and possibly MAD. They can be chromed if they don't come that way from a resin caster. The Modelhaus had those in their line and were great! The old Monogram 57 Chevy had some, not sure if they were deep like that though.
  15. That is what I am thinking! I don't know if mine will be black, but at $16 I can afford to build and paint a few of them!
  16. In their message online, they state to contact them if your information changes either by calling 217-864-4402 or email them at models@modelhaus.com . I would assume that this would apply to credit card, email address or shipping address changes. They also state that you can delete items from your order but you CANNOT add to it. As ZoomZoom pointed out, they planned on being retired by now and it will be another year before they can due to the onslaught of orders they received. I cannot imagine how many of us would delay our retirement a year to fulfill orders after stating our intention to retire a year in advance. That alone speaks volumes about Don and Carol and how they feel about us as customers, many would have just shut down the website and left on their terms.
  17. Can't vouch for BNL, never bought any thing from them. VCG has nice stuff, good service and a nice guy. I have one of their Chevy big blocks and haven't built it yet, but in looking it over it seems pretty nice with just a little clean up needed.
  18. Very nice, looks like a cleanly built and detailed truck! Your Bare Metal foil looks great, I suspect it wasn't as easy to do as the pictures indicate.
  19. Absolutely beautiful, great details and you nailed the look!
  20. Waiting on my order from July 4, 2016. No hurry, I have a ton of other stuff to build to keep me busy. Some of the nicest people I have ever met, sure hope they get to enjoy their retirement and this crush of orders has given them an infusion of cash beyond what they imagined.
  21. Working in Virginia this week I found the Hobby Lobby in Glen Allen today at lunch. Did some walking around as it was laid out a little differently and stumbled on a display of Ott lamps that were on clearance. Originally marked $59.99, got one today for $21.49! Did some more walking around and found a Revell Finks Speedwagon on clearance for $8.49 and while a buck higher than Ollies, I grabbed it figuring it will get parted out.
  22. Sometimes Google can be your best friend..... Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland 317 Roosevelt Ave SW Glen Burnie, MD 21061 410-768-3648 I believe it is $8 for his catalog. Google search Replicas and Miniatures and some people have created albums of the pieces and parts they have purchased over the years from Norm. My personal experience was outstanding, to the point of him refunding some of my money because he directed me to another source for something I ordered from him and he felt it was a better product!
  23. FYI, the 64 D100 shortbed resin kit is under development, meaning it is not yet available. I would suggest contacting them to see when it will be ready to order.
  24. IIRC, they were at the NNL in Atlanta this past November. Nice selection and fair prices.
  25. His passing has had more of an effect on me than that of Chris Cornell. Not to diminish Chris's passing, it's just that the Allman Brothers music was a much bigger part of my life and holds many great memories from childhood. Just a shame that some great musicians have passed on recently but that All Star band in heaven just got a little better! Gregg was the mastermind behind the writing of the music- Duane and Dickie Betts brought it to life.
