It could also be that despite some enthusiasm for the kit, the pre-orders were not there so Revell did not take a chance on running these at the time. If the reported dimensions and crudeness of the kit are to be believed, then maybe Revell did us all a favor in not releasing this kit yet. We will probably know by the end of October as to what Revell will do in 2015.

From the sounds of it, this "all new" kit is worse than the old AMT one that I have multiples of, I wonder if I should even bother opening the box, much less try building it?

There is supposedly a second video clip (that hasn't been shown to the public) that could help the Grand Jury with their decision. This is no doubt a difficult time for everyone involved as it could go either way, and none of us have seen all of the evidence so we can only speculate as to how this will go. I doubt very few residents of Ontario county have NOT heard about this incident but hopefully whomever is seated on the Grand Jury will listen to all of the testimony and review the evidence closely. Like many racing incidents, this one prompted changes to rules but also has deeply affected many people.

Moebius 67-72 Ford Pick-up news
mikemodeler replied to Dave Metzner's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
There will be multiple versions of this kit- long and short bed, 6 and 8 cylinder engine. I suspect that there will be 4wd versions as well as an early test shot revealed a 4wd setup. -
View from my office. What does everyone else do all day?

I work in field sales and my view usually changes everyday, so I can say that I am lucky to have escaped the office life and same 4 cubicle walls 18 years ago. -
AMT 72' Chevy Pickup Short Bed Kit
mikemodeler replied to PlasticWagens's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Bandit Resins once offered a conversion kit for this truck, not sure if they still do so I would contact them and ask. -

Nice progress, what color is that blue? It almost looks like a factory color. -
My new spray booth
mikemodeler replied to JohnnyK's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Looks simple but effective! I would think it will be easy to keep clean and with the tub being clear, it helps bring more light to the booth. About how much did this cost you? Where did you source the fan? -
I love Hobby Lobby!

That 40% off coupon makes the Tamiya primer affordable. I keep checking the HL to see if they have the Revell 67 Camaro or Ford Raptor in stock, those two will be bought in multiples! -
New Revell 1/25 2013 Camaro ZL-1 (pre-painted)
mikemodeler replied to Brett Barrow's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
hadn't planned on adding this to the purchase list for the fall but just might have to after seeing this post. Thanks for sharing the pictures. -
To add to your information james, the rule book stated that engine displacement was limited to 5 liters, or approximately 305 cubic inches and Chevy didn't have an engine in that size so they created one with parts you mentioned. I am looking forward to this kit and hope that there are many more versions of 67 Camaros on the drawing boards at Revell!

Always amazes me how well our modeling friends in Europe can build an American classic so detailed and accurate without having grown up around them. Nice work and great details, like the masking of the body for Alcad.

It was brought to my attention

I refuse to buy any resin sight unseen unless they are a well known and respected caster, because the last thing I want to do is support some rip off artist. This past weekend I was at the CKM show and spent over $100 on resin kits and parts. Bandit Resins was the beneficiary of my spending spree and I would buy from them online but enjoy seeing them at shows and talking with Kenny. There was also a husband and wife team there from Xtreme Scale Detail and they had product from many other resin companies, including some of Scott's products from Futrattraction. They proudly displayed the brands and didn't try to pass anything off as theirs and I commend them for it. In fact, I think it is better to have others' items for sale like they did because if you are looking for a specific part from a supplier, they make it easier to have available in one place. It's unfortunate that some people feel the need to copy someone else's hard work and then try to defend it. The best thing we can do as a community is to not support those companies and let them suffer the consequences of their actions. -
trying to remember which car it was that came with black fuzzy pom-poms on the wheels!

That is probably true of most tool companies Joe. Pressure to keep prices down has forced companies to cheapen their product. I don't make a living with my tools anymore, not sure where I'd go if I had to buy long lasting ones.
