I don't believe the service bed is a separate item, I think it comes in the kit with the rest of the truck. Modelhaus used to offer a utility bed, similar design , but they are no longer in business. I have seen some on eBay.

Check out Mega Hobby or Modelroundup, they carry his stuff. I did check the website, it says closed until further notice. Hopefully that means they have some stuff to sort out and will return, has a bunch of neat stuff.

My thoughts exactly! I have a couple of the Modelhaus utility beds yet to use and I am already staring at this kit and thinking I might need a couple more!

I remember seeing him on an old episode of American Hot Rod building a car body for Boyd Coddington. They showed how he managed to hammer and form a beautiful car from aluminum, extremely impressive.

Ya know Bill, you had to remind me of my ever growing collection of resin parts and in particular, Fireball items! LOL! Last night I was at the workbench and while my ADD was in overdrive, I looked at three or four different items from Fireball, Modelhaus, Scenes Unlimited & Olson Brothers as I jumped from WIP to WIP! Yeah, my kit buying is slowing down, trading off kits I don't think I will build for those that I will and my accessory buying is on the rise, but I have to stop and focus on completing some builds before embarking on new additions to the stash. If this 3D printing keeps up, I will have to get a second job to support my habit!

This is the future of our hobby. While kit manufacturers will still crank out kits, I can see where individuals or small companies will develop items to enhance or change what the model companies offer us. Think about the recent 4x4 conversion from Fireball, if you would have told me I would spend $30 on a kit and another $30 on a conversion, I would have told you Heck NO! But here I am, with three conversion kits! Thanks for sharing, excellent video and very interesting.

Thanks Mike! With the release date of the next run of the F100 4x4 kit in limbo, I can get started on a build now if the frames are the same. I am sure I am not the only one wanting to do the same.

40% off of $29.99 works out to about $18.00 plus tax, not a bad deal in today's economy. When I go to shows, new releases (like most of those found at Hobby Lobby) are about $22-25, so Hobby Lobby isn't such a bad deal if that is your only game in town like it is for me. To Vince's point, if you are buying a couple of kits at one time and time and money are a factor, then getting 20% off of all kits isn't a bad deal, provided you aren't just stockpiling kits. We all have our reasons to shop or not shop at Hobby Lobby.

So I have wanted to build a 4wd version of the 69-72 Ford F series pickups from Moebius and was happy to hear they were releasing their long awaited kit. I didn't get one when they first came out but was able to get a couple of the F-250 4wd conversion kits from Fireball Modelworks to build the version I really wanted, a more HD 4wd truck. In looking over the detailed instructions supplied from Fireball, it dawned on me that maybe the frame in the 2wd version of this kit might be the same as the 4wd one, which would allow me to use one of the 1972 Ford Ranger long bed kits to build a 4wd truck. What I am unsure of is whether or not the frames are the same, which is important as Joseph has drawings to show where to modify the kit frame to incorporate his kit pieces. Can anyone confirm the 2wd and 4wd kit frames are identical? It would help me greatly as I want to build up a kit over the coming holidays. TIA for your help.

In 2-3 weeks it will be back to normal, so unless you GOTTA have it now, wait and get it with the 40% off coupon. Hobby Lobby puts all of their model kits on sale at this time of the year, no surprise to those of us who have been shopping there for years.

Hobby Lobby has compressors, and with their 40% off coupon, makes them real affordable. If you are using one inside the house, you will want one that is a bit more quieter (meaning more expensive). A pancake compressor is not quiet, but it has more uses than a regular air brush compressor. Really comes down to budget and if it will be used for something other than powering an airbrush.

I work for a division of Toyota and we are transitioning away from internal combustion engines and getting more involved with electric vehicles and autonomous capable vehicles. While they will not displace the 280 million vehicles already on the road in the US, they will be here sooner than we thought. To think we will all be driving in electric cars exclusively is a bit of a stretch, but the day is coming when we won't have much of a choice because gasoline will be priced out of reach for many. There are many parts of the world where an electric car is not feasible and therefore there will be a market for some form of gasoline powered vehicle. One must consider the lower income person- teenager, entry level employee, etc- that will not be able to afford a new, electric car and will be forced into public transportation. It will change a lot in our lives- where we live, how we socialize, and it might be a reminder of the early 20th century in terms of how many people did not have a car. There will need to be a massive investment in infrastructure for electric cars to thrive. Many will look to the government to fund it, however it will be up to the private sector to make it functional. Interesting times and boy are they a changing!

I love it, weathered just enough to look accurate without being overdone! The updated driveline and detailed underside is perfect. Not sure how you got that picture of it sitting in front of what looks like a real Gulf station, but that just adds to the realism! Great job overall, envious of your weathering skills.

Power Wagon? YES PLEASE ! Maverick? dunno, maybe? Vega? I would like another shot at building that one, mine from the '70's was so poorly done, most likely because I was still figuring out how to use glue and paint!

Go to Harbor Freight and get an oil less pancake compressor- guaranteed to keep EVERYONE awake in a 1,000 foot radius. Not sure how good it will work, but when you have the chance to be obnoxious, don't let the opportunity pass you by!

My thoughts exactly. It's like they went back to the first generation Colorado pickup and said " Let's take this grille, make it a bit uglier, and slap it on the new 2020 Silverado".

Gonna be a few of those kits in my stash that may not have a bed. Love it!

A flawless trade with KHils earlier this week. We've traded before and they have always gone smooth, Kevin even sent me his kit before I was able to send his. Showed up as advertised and will do it again in a heartbeat.

If the 68 turns out to be a decent kit, then I might be in for one and also a 69. I would rather wait than reward Round2 with my money for a kit that has it's fair share of issues.

I remember they would run kits at the 30 or 40% off from time to time. Then they went to 30% off during the holidays. Sometimes they will clearance out kits at 75%, most of the time it's 40%. Whatever the case, I have enough kits to last me several lifetimes so now my purchasing decisions are based on whether or not I will actually build the subject.
