Help with tires for Moebius F100 4x4
mikemodeler replied to heyjohnxx's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
You can also check out Scenes Unlimited. Danny has developed some nice looking lug type tires that should fit those kit wheels just fine. If you want to go modern, he also has some nice tires with either highway or mud tread patterns. Great product, fast service and priced right. -
This will end up being another $50,000+ pickup truck that has more luxury amenities than real usefulness. Target buyers will be families wanting something different to pull their small camper or the occasional Home Depot run to pick up some plants and 5 bags of mulch. I would rather track down an old Scrambler and refurbish it for a lot less and have something more to what it should be.

Moebius 66 Ford F100 Pickup preview
mikemodeler replied to SteveG's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Thanks for the update Dave! Looking forward to having these available. There seems to be a huge demand for 4x4 versions (as you probably already know!) so my opinion is that if you can see to releasing the 4x4 version, it will be a success! -
Nice to know that a Dodge D100 pickup is coming, will have to wait and see what is actually in the box. The artwork states "D100" but the vehicle is clearly a W100 (note the 4wd front axle) on the box. As stated, what is shown and what is released can vary greatly (Moebius 70 Ford 4x4 pickup comes to mind). I am sure there will be some resin folks out there that will have a conversion/upgrade kit for this along with some other parts and pieces.

For The Moebius Pickups.. and others???
mikemodeler replied to impcon's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Joseph at Fireball Modelworks has created the F250 4wd conversion kit and a nice set of cab marker lights for the Moebius kit but beyond that I haven't seen anyone else create anything for them. I agree that some other pieces would be nice (bumpers, mirrors, etc) and suspect that the upcoming utility bed in the 65/66 Ford F100 will find it's way to a few of these kits. I am willing to spend some cash if someone offers it! -
I just checked email, my Fireball Modelworks Moebius 4x4 Conversion kits should be here tomorrow- after I leave for a business trip to Texas! Something to look forward to on Friday!

While I might not be a fan of slammed trucks, I will say this one is excellent! Absolutely perfect paint and details, congrats on a sweet build! -

Beverage trailer
mikemodeler replied to Spruslayer's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Aaron is on to something with his build- the Charlotte Fire Dept uses a beverage body trailer to haul it's Haz Mat equipment to the scene here. A lot more work to make the doors roll up and functional as you would have to build the inner body structure too, but I am sure there are some builders here up to the challenge. -

Awesome work on this "slump buster" Bill! Love the color and details, period correct and spot on. Thanks for showing your polishing tips, they are very helpful and just like the 1:1 world. -

I want to say that Bandit Resins offered a grille and tailgate conversion kit, I will have to check and see if I have one, thought I picked one up a while back. They might still offer it, worth a phone call or email. -

I don't believe there was a Cosworth Vega kit and I can't imagine Round2 will tool up a decal sheet, a set of wheels and a complete engine to do one either!

I am trying to replicate a friends' new toy, a 2008 Mustang GT. I have looked around and the only 2008 Mustang kit I can find is a Bullitt kit and while the body is correct, the wheels and grille are different from the picture he sent me. I would like this to be as accurate as possible and seeing how my knowledge is more bow tie than blue oval, I am hoping to get some help! If you have suggestions on which kits to use to get the parts needed, I would greatly appreciate it! I am including a picture of the car to help. Thanks in advance.

I cannot imagine the horror of having mere minutes to grab your belongings and leaving everything behind and then return days later to find a pile of ashes. Prayers go out to all impacted by this fire, residents, first responders and relatives of the victims. i was with a good friend of mine over this past weekend. His son is a fire fighter who is based on the west coast and fights these types of fires. He returned from his honeymoon last Tuesday night and Thursday morning was on a plane to Sacramento to join his crew, could not imagine how his wife feels!

Ghosn arrested for securities fraud
mikemodeler replied to fumi's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This is a huge deal in the OEM world. Financial misconduct is a nice way of saying "stealing money". He has been one of the most talked about OEM CEOs in recent memory and has tried/proposed mergers with several manufacturers. He is ego driven and is notorious for his cost cutting ways to profitability, often at the expense of quality or design. He will most likely do some jail time but his days in the OEM world are through. -
This is a Cosworth Vega- Twin cam motor, limited production. Shot this picture at the Petersen Automotive Museum this past summer.
