  1. Thanks Ben, wasn't aware of the super saver club! In looking at the website, I did notice that there was a lot of "order pending" and "out of stock" notes on many items- kits & paint mostly.
  2. I got an email earlier today from Tower Hobbies informing me of their Fathers Day Sale and that if I place an order of $50 or more, I can use order code 01A15 to take $15 off that order! Not sure if the free shipping code 01A13 still works, but I might have to look through the website tonight to see if there is anything I need. Happy Shopping!
  3. I agree Ron, I have enough WIPs on the bench to keep me busy for awhile, much less build any of the 100+ in the stash. I am being real selective now on my purchasing of new kits and have actually started looking at selling some more off, just don't see myself getting them all built.
  4. Get a spare/scrap body and try. I have yet to spray a body with acrylic paint so can't say for sure.
  5. That is great news!
  6. Would if I could but I can't so I don't. Sadly, Hobby Lobby and Michaels are the only ones around. There is a LHS about 30 minutes away, but is mainly focused on R/C that finding anything there that is model related and priced reasonably is very difficult. There is a Hobbytown USA about an hour away but same situation- MSRP + on everything.
  7. Yup, even though I fall into the "old guy" category, there are a bunch of young modelers out there who don't necessarily show up here or at model shows, for reasons of their own. I suspect it's because they might think they won't fit in with us old farts and we will be critical of their builds because the plug wires aren't in the correct firing order or they painted their carbs the wrong color. Whatever the reason, all one has to do is take their blinders off and look around, the youngins are out there building!
  8. Yes you do Kris, nothing but great product and service.
  9. Yeah, and with the Revell thing being so uncertain and Tamiya raising prices, we should probably forget about ever being able to buy models at a retail establishment. Okay, sarcasm turned off. I doubt Hobby Lobby will get rid of models any time soon.
  10. Best of luck, be calm, listen to the questions and concentrate on driving and road conditions (as you should). I am sure you will do fine.
  11. Another scratch build fire unit from Charles Rowley? I'm in! Looking forward to seeing this come together like so many other masterpieces you have created over the years.
  12. Whether they are back or not, I would be very skeptical of ordering from him unless it was on eBay where I had some protection. The shame of it all is that he had some great products over the years and he screwed it up with really poor customer service.
  13. I would still check it out, he may have it in stock and be able to ship, worth a shot!
  14. Very nice Chuck! Nice details and clean paint and decal work. Nice to see that you haven't forgotten how to make paint shiny!
  15. Bandit Resins is not taking orders right now, Kenny injured his arm (he only has his left arm, his right was injured in an accident long ago) and until he can get back to work, no orders are being accepted. It's a shame, he is a great guy and he has great product.
  16. I had two thoughts on what happened: 1. Someone kinked the internet hose and therefore rendered the Forum unavailable. 2. The volcano finally spewed enough lava that Gregg had to move to the other side of the island and accidentally unplugged it during the move. Glad it is back up.
  17. Great job on them both, looks like they have been well used!
  18. If your goal is to store them until you figure out how to display them, then Robert's suggestion of using the Sterlite storage boxes is spot on. I picked some up yesterday at my Big Lots for 94 cents a piece, with the lid! I use them to store my models that I am working on so parts and pieces don't get lost or dusty. As far as a display case goes, depending on the room you have available there are many options. There are used commercial displays available at auctions, going out of business sales and places that specialize in business furniture. There is also a company called Carney Plastics that makes model display cases in different scales that can be wall mounted. While not cheap, they are nice and IIRC can be custom configured to fit various models and die cast. Best of luck in your search, show us the collection when you have it ready.
  19. Is that the wrecker bed from the Midnite Cowboy kit? Looks great, love the weathering and details.
  20. I was showing my latest order to another forum member here and he could not believe that they were not kit pieces. There is no flash on the resin and the details are so clear you would think it was from a kit.
  21. With that kind of price jump, that is a better return than my 401k is giving me. I better get all my kits listed on eBay today and hope there are enough gullible buyers out there to help me with my retirement fund.
  22. Doesn't matter where the water comes in, trying to compress a liquid in an engine is not going end well.
  23. I just got my order, that Shasta camper looks like a kit piece and the crew cab Dodge pickup is going to look killer, just have to fab up a 4x4 chassis for it.
  24. I split a side laughing at this one! Yes, it's as if the rest of us are not on the same planet and somehow typing like that is a sign of superiority! BTW- this is a US website, there is no "U" in the word "COLOR" !
  25. Nice! Love the paint and it looks ready to hit the trails.
