  1. Looks great over here on the other side of the US! That Jeep is screaming for some larger tires though.
  2. Looks great, nice weathering and detailing!
  3. If by chance you don't want to cut up a bed and potentially ruin it, Bandit Resins offers a short bed resin kit. I think it runs about $15, but goes much faster if you don't want to cut up a bed.
  4. Any news on a release date? I realize there has been some changes with the ownership at Moebius and that may have delayed production, but it would be nice to know when this might finally be on the shelves.
  5. Nice video, enjoyed looking at the models and it looks like a great variety of builds!
  6. It's a great show and usually a pretty good swap area. I am up in the air as to whether I will be there, have a possible work conflict.
  7. Interesting that the box says F-100 but the vehicle on the box is actually a F250/350 as the wheels shown are 8 lug, 16 inch tires and the suspension is the high rider. Either way, I will be picking up a couple of these, I've been wanting this one since it was first shown.
  8. At least you have a local hobby shop to call, some of us don't have that luxury. Glad you were able to find a suitable replacement, hopefully the new stuff will work just fine.
  9. According to some, there is nothing good to come from the purchase of Revell by a German investment firm. Patience is a valuable tool and should be used by us modelers until some firm, official news from the new owners is made public. Speculation and personal opinions only add to the confusion and misinformation.
  10. I find it interesting that some people already know what is going to happen with Revell based upon a press release. I choose to sit back and wait for reliable information from the company itself, but that's just me.
  11. A lot of nice models, looks like it was a great show!
  12. Ditto. There was one here in Charlotte that had an okay selection and the owner was nice enough to talk to, but I was mostly there for the supplies as he had Tamiya paints. There is/was one about 35 miles away that had a much larger selection but everything was just about MSRP. I did stop a few times, again for the supplies.
  13. I'd be more worried about the Germans buying Revell and then stop releasing US car and truck kits. I plan on cashing in my 401k and buying up as many Revell kits as I can!
  14. I saw a Scout Terra yesterday here in Charlotte, might have to pick up a couple of these kits and build one!
  15. I would rather have accurate representations of a subject and worry about scale later, but that's just my opinion
  16. It could be part of a plan they had all along and quite frankly, when you are working for a company in bankruptcy, this is probably to be expected. Unless they intend to totally abandon the US market and the sales opportunity it represents, I foresee some type of operation here as they couldn't afford to ship distributor's orders direct from Germany to the US. R&D and marketing might be gone, but some form of distribution will be around. On a somewhat related note, I doubt we will see any type of replacement parts program unless they retain some customer service function.
  17. The first positive that comes to mind is that Revell is still around, albeit with foreign ownership. Yes the loss of jobs in Elk Grove Village is sad to hear, but let's reserve comment until we hear what the new owners have planned. It hard for me to fathom that the new owners would abandon the US market and the opportunity to re-issue old kits to those of us hungry for them, unless they truly don't care about the US market. What gets re-issued or new tooling will come down to licensing agreements, something I think still is being worked on as far as the Big 3 US automakers are concerned, and I don't see a flood of European models coming our way in place of US cars as I don't think the market is as large. The answers will be forthcoming soon enough.
  18. Not sure how rare it is, but for $175 I could find a lot more models to spend money on.
  19. Looks dangerous to my bank account! Some decent priced models there.
  20. My thoughts exactly Gerry. In the meantime, I will cash out my 401k and buy up every Revell and Monogram model possible in the hopes of cornering the market and being "the guy" with all of the highly sought after models!
  21. A lot of speculating and very few facts here, I am inclined to wait a month once the deal is finalized and we should know more. I appreciate everyone chiming in with their interpretation of what is/has/will happen, but I think if we as modelers would just wait for some official announcement, we would be better off. Many of us have plenty of models and other things to work on besides bashing a management team, foreign ownership, WW2 history and insert the old "If I ran things, this is what I would do" babbling.
  22. That kit looks vaguely familiar ! Nice start, might have to see what I can find to play along, although work has me pretty busy maybe I can find something simple.
  23. I just wanted to give a shout out to a couple of resin vendors here. Om March 28th, I placed orders with four different resin vendors and they all responded to me by the next day. Three of the orders have showed up within about two weeks and the last one should be here next week! In no particular order.... Scenes Unlimited, Fireball Modelworks, MAD and Olson Bros are all outstanding vendors , high quality product and service. I will go a step further and say Scenes Unlimited and Fireball also have excellent packaging and instructions with their product. Order with confidence and don't be shy to spend money with them- we all know how quickly good resin vendors can disappear !
