  1. I tried checking the Pegasus Hobbies website and did not see anything about the F-100 4x4 kit.
  2. I have that trailer to build as well so I will be watching. Haven't decided on a tow vehicle yet, been thinking the 66 Suburban, maybe an AMT 72 Chevy pickup. If I can find another 66 Chevelle wagon, might go that route.
  3. Comparing this side shot to your model, it looks like yours is close but the rear window on yours tapers off slanting downward a bit more than this picture of the 1:1. Nice work on creating a car many of us would love to own!
  4. Nice job! I have a couple of those to finish up, hope to get to them this fall.
  5. I don't have a dog in this fight as I have never ordered from Scale Finishes but having read about the issues raised in this post I will say this- customer service makes or breaks a company no matter how big or small. I am sure Jameston means well, and the idea of hiring someone to help sounds good, but it could be more difficult than you might think. Depending on how he set up his operation, adding someone might mean a ton of paperwork and filings with government agencies that would further delay his ability to ship orders. Hopefully he can fix the issues plaguing his business and continue to offer quality product and service, we need as many companies as possible to keep our hobby thriving.
  6. Always liked the early Toyota Pickups and will be getting one of these when they come out. Question- Does this come with plastic tires or rubber tires?
  7. Similar thinking, I wasn't going for the 4x4 look as much as making it look cool and haul ash, like the Syclones did. The 4x4 could be a neat deal, there are some great tires out there from Fireball Modelworks and Scenes Unlimited.
  8. nice job, love the details and you nailed the look with the weathering.
  9. Went for a short drive yesterday with the wife and wanted to see what new shopping center is under construction (because you can never have enough retail outlets!) and lo and behold, there will be a new Hobby Lobby within 10 miles of my house later this year. Sure hope the wife doesn't get any crazy ideas about us shopping together there, then she will know how much I spend on model kits!
  10. It beats the alternative. Celebrate and enjoy your birthday.
  11. Nice pictures, wish I would have remembered they were coming through town, I would have made the trip up from Charlotte. Thanks for sharing.
  12. Yup. Example: I am not a fan of low riders, don't see the point in hydraulics and "hopping". But I do appreciate the work that goes into building what others might find "cool" but aren't my cup of tea as long as it shows talent and creativity.
  13. Here is another idea, for either one but maybe the convertible mostly. Smooth out the body and use the drivetrain from a Syclone kit (AWD, Turbo V-6), flare the fenders and stick some wide tires on it, maybe Pikes Peak style racer?
  14. I would do the convertible as a Pro Tour type- modern LS power, nice wheels and smooth body. The hardtop I would build up as a sleeper- faded paint, turbo'd motor, narrowed rear end, steel wheels, plain interior. I have a sealed SC/Rambler kit, still haven't figured out which direction to go.
  15. Down here in NC, ammo is easy to find. Dick's Sporting Goods, Academy, Cabela's and a ton of gun stores to choose from. I have also ordered from Ammunition Depot, good prices if you catch their sales. With about 7 different types ( 9mm, .22, 380, .45, .556, .40, 12 gauge )of ammo needed, I am always shopping for good deals.
  16. I picked up the old MPC Universal Jeep CJ-5, the one with the service station package- half cab, snow plow and push bumper- at a swap meet 20 years ago. I have yet to build it, some of it is not wanting to screw it up, the other part of it is having a ton of other WIPs. One of these days!
  17. Thanks for sharing, many amazing people out there who have their struggles in life but manage it all and don't complain. I know a few who have situations that most would run from.
  18. Wish I could help, I remember seeing this body years ago and telling myself..."I will get one soon" and never did. There is a void in this hobby for Holmes Wrecker bodies. Sure wish there was someone else with a 500 & 750 wrecker kit, I would be all over em!
  19. Me too! Reminiscent of when Ollies had a big clearance a couple of years ago, saw some people at a swap meet two weeks later trying to get $18 for a kit they paid $6.99 for! Needless to say, those folks went home with those kits. As mentioned, for these prices it is hard to beat picking up a kit for $7-8 if you are going to just use certain parts, which is what I intend to do. The rest of the kit will be given away or traded for other parts, something I surely would not have done had I paid full retail.
  20. Nice! Now you need to build a Lambo tractor to go with it!
  21. nice job on the weathering, realistic and just right.
  22. That sure came out nice Brian, lots of nice details that you scratchbuilt really make this thing look great!
  23. Just when I said I wasn't going to buy any more models, I see a couple that I will be forking over some of my lunch money for.
  24. My display case is chock full of C2 Corvettes and Camaros from 67-2016. Add in a few hot rods and Chevy SUVs too. The model workbench has 5 GM pickups, 3 Camaros and a couple of Jeeps. Got to get a few more WIPs done before considering any of the big rigs in the stash.
