  1. Those are some awesome looking wheels and glad to know Fireball is going to have them!
  2. Thank you Jonathan. The movie Tommy Boy is the story of my life, just don't get the royalty check!
  3. Kinda hard to judge a vehicle based on it being in the market for just as couple of months, isn't it? Aren't all three domestic making some kind of reliability claim these days, depending on which poll taker they use?
  4. www.CustomSquads.com , Models by Tony. They have something really close.
  5. NAPA carries Duplicolor and I believe Rustoleum, for the simple reason that there are two different markets to approach using both brands. I wouldn't be surprised to see Advance Auto Parts ADDING Rustoleum and not just replacing Duplicolor.
  6. Sadly I don't find many of the current trucks that attractive, luckily I am not in the market for one!
  7. I will have to make a note of it and make sure I am there.
  8. There is also the issue of the underside leaving a bit to be desired. Will be watching this one as you work on it. I am surprised that Jimmy Flintstone hasn't created a Suburban-like 4 door version of this kit, similar to the one he did a while back when AMT brought out the Ram 2500 kit.
  9. Was not aware of this resin piece/kit, can you give some details? What all is included with the kit? Price? Availability?
  10. I have to agree with Brian on this Charles! Doesn't matter what you are working on, the details and accuracy of the subject are outstanding!
  11. Very nice, I will have to show this to my son when he gets back from his National Guard training in 2 weeks, it looks like something he would drive. He is a horizontal engineer in the Army, a fancy way of saying heavy equipment operator. Great detailing and realistic weathering.
  12. I work in the auto parts field, have for more years than I want to admit. Decisions like these are usually monetary based. Advance could be switching brands because : A. They are getting financial incentives from Rustoleum to change. B. They are trying to be different in their product offering from the other retailers (NAPA, O'Reilly's, Auto Zone) C. They are trying to be similar in their product offering like the other retailers D. They have a new product manager who came from the competitor and he made a case for the change. E. Tommy Callahan Jr. is the Rustoleum rep now. F. None of the above. I have run into this many times and the above reasons are usually among the correct answer.Change for the sake of change occurs all the time. Could be Rustoleum has some new products that Advance wants, could be the fancy dinners they had at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.
  13. Hindsight is always 20/20. I am sure that there are some people out there who, had they known how cheap Revell was going to go for in bankruptcy, would have put together a group to buy it. The problem, as I see it, is that ongoing operations would have required a decent amount of capital. New product development isn't cheap either and I am sure the new owners are aware of that fact. What new kits we get, what old kits get re-issued, and what current kits continue on will all be revealed in the coming months. In the meantime, we need to get busy building what we have!
  14. Given the nature of how they conducted business, I suspect it will take Don and Carol awhile to sort and process the orders. Their policy of "first in, first out" is a great way to run a business and will probably be the way they do these last orders. I do hope, for their sake as well as ours, that they identify the customers with multiple orders and combine them into one shipment. This makes so much sense and will probably simplify things for all involved. I think they truly want to retire from running a business, especially after the last 5 years, but Don is a craftsman who wants to continue sharing his skills so I am excited to see what he has in store for us. Some have speculated that they might do limited runs of kits and that would be fine with me, it will be interesting to see if they also dig out old molds and run any of their old kits too!
  15. This kit will go well with my other el camino kits. Nice to have this one back with the extras.
  16. I see what you mean Bill, some cool stuff there to consider! I wonder if I buy one of those detail sets for a 57 Corvette if mine will turn out as nice as the one on the MCG page? Nice job on the Corvette and it's always cool to see your builds featured!
  17. Thanks for sharing, looks like a lot of nice models and a great variety too. Hated that I missed the show, had some house stuff to do and it was my anniversary so I had to do stuff closer to home. Next year!
  18. I placed three orders, because I kept finding more stuff I wanted, in the span of 40 minutes. First order was 24095, last order was 24730. I think Don and Carol will be busy processing orders until Christmas if they have over a thousand orders! I am sure there are many like me who placed multiple orders, but again I think they are overwhelmed with orders and will be busy for awhile. Glad to see their product get bought up. I wondered if they had any left over stock and we all found out the answer! Hopefully they can finally get on with their lives and enjoy retirement.
  19. Good Idea Andy, I will do that this week. Who knows, could be something of interest for them. Of course if Round2 would re-issue the Jeep it would help them sell more!
  20. Have you searched Facebook and eBay? There are many companies that sell there and may or may not have a website too. Not sure what you are looking for but try searching those places with a bit more detailed information and you are sure to find something.
  21. I placed three orders, as I kept remembering stuff AFTER I placed my first order. Not sure if it was a sound decision as it cost me more in shipping but I did get some items I wanted. I did email Don and Carol and told them to combine my three orders and use the extra shipping money for their much deserved vacation fund.
  22. I was able to get on the Modelhaus website and make some last purchases for items that I forgot/missed the last time. There were a few things I wasn't able to buy as they were sold out, but overall happy with myself. I was hoping there would be more kits and conversions still available, but who knows, maybe Don will be able to create some new stuff that I really want !
