  1. I have been working on something similar to Casey's pictures of a Terra but would love to have one of these in real life.
  2. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^What he said!
  3. I read that statement Chuck and thought the same thing and then realized it's builds like this one that motivate me to try harder. Great job on this build Eric, you have set the bar high! Thanks for sharing all of your tips and methods, it's what this hobby is all about.
  4. There is a message saying more board maintenance needs to be done, I suspect that could be a part of the problem, but I am no I.T. whiz !
  5. Unless there would be a movie tie-in (see Days of Thunder) what purpose would it serve to reissue an old Nascar kit (that is admittedly readily available rather cheaply) with a fictitious name and sponsor? Do you want to build a 90's Lumina kit with Ben Dover as the driver on the door and Hillary's Hard Drive Warehouse as the sponsor? If they were to re-issue any kits, it would be the ones without decals and let the aftermarket supply driver names and sponsors. The licensing fees would then be the problem of the decal company, not the model company.
  6. Check a NAPA or Bennett Auto Supply store, they have the Duplicolor lacquers in semi gloss, gloss and flat blacks. Fast drying and won't craze the plastic.
  7. Nice work, love the color and the wheels.
  8. Looks good from where I am sitting! I admire your attempt to build something so large, I would be too intimidated. I struggle with the Galaxie trailers, could not imagine trying to scratchbuild something like this! My only advice for cutting long straight pieces would be to create a jig on a flat surface that has a perfect 90 degree angle.
  9. I can see where more of my lunch money will be going next year!
  10. First resin supplier to tool up a conversion kit to take the Moebius F-100 4x4 to a F-250 or F-350 4x4 gets my money. I have the 8 lug wheels and tires already from Scenes Unlimited.
  11. Got a reply back from Olson Bros. Stay tuned, they will have some resin goodies for lots of us as it relates to this subject and others!
  12. Mark/Andy, I sent an email today, I will let you know what Olson Bros. has to say about resin casting the Jeep parts.
  13. Those are some awesome looking wheels and glad to know Fireball is going to have them!
  14. Thank you Jonathan. The movie Tommy Boy is the story of my life, just don't get the royalty check!
  15. Kinda hard to judge a vehicle based on it being in the market for just as couple of months, isn't it? Aren't all three domestic making some kind of reliability claim these days, depending on which poll taker they use?
  16. www.CustomSquads.com , Models by Tony. They have something really close.
  17. NAPA carries Duplicolor and I believe Rustoleum, for the simple reason that there are two different markets to approach using both brands. I wouldn't be surprised to see Advance Auto Parts ADDING Rustoleum and not just replacing Duplicolor.
  18. Sadly I don't find many of the current trucks that attractive, luckily I am not in the market for one!
  19. I will have to make a note of it and make sure I am there.
  20. There is also the issue of the underside leaving a bit to be desired. Will be watching this one as you work on it. I am surprised that Jimmy Flintstone hasn't created a Suburban-like 4 door version of this kit, similar to the one he did a while back when AMT brought out the Ram 2500 kit.
  21. Was not aware of this resin piece/kit, can you give some details? What all is included with the kit? Price? Availability?
  22. I have to agree with Brian on this Charles! Doesn't matter what you are working on, the details and accuracy of the subject are outstanding!
  23. Very nice, I will have to show this to my son when he gets back from his National Guard training in 2 weeks, it looks like something he would drive. He is a horizontal engineer in the Army, a fancy way of saying heavy equipment operator. Great detailing and realistic weathering.
  24. I work in the auto parts field, have for more years than I want to admit. Decisions like these are usually monetary based. Advance could be switching brands because : A. They are getting financial incentives from Rustoleum to change. B. They are trying to be different in their product offering from the other retailers (NAPA, O'Reilly's, Auto Zone) C. They are trying to be similar in their product offering like the other retailers D. They have a new product manager who came from the competitor and he made a case for the change. E. Tommy Callahan Jr. is the Rustoleum rep now. F. None of the above. I have run into this many times and the above reasons are usually among the correct answer.Change for the sake of change occurs all the time. Could be Rustoleum has some new products that Advance wants, could be the fancy dinners they had at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.
