Hobbico - BANKRUPT!
mikemodeler replied to niteowl7710's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
What is wrong with you??? Don't you know you should be on forums spreading fear into the hearts of fellow modelers about the demise of Revell and how the Germans always ruin everything???? LOL! Good for you, I intend to do the same this weekend! -
Not to get into a battle over who knows what, but as a person who has spent the last 37 years working on and around automobiles, I will object to your statement I have highlighted above. Last year I worked for Honda on their airbag inflator recall campaign that targeted 2001- 2003 Honda Accords and Civics and there still millions of them on the road. Many had over 150,000 miles on the odometer but people were still driving them. Today I work for a parts company and I can tell you that many of our top selling parts fit vehicles that are 6 years old and older, a testament to the quality of Asian vehicles. The majority of them are FWD and if regular maintenance is performed, these cars will easily go 15-20 years and 300,00 miles or more. I respect your opinion, but research some facts before blaming a chassis design that has been around since the 60's and has proven to be reliable and efficient.

Has anyone heard of The Sales Shack?
mikemodeler replied to MikeRousseau's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
No kidding! I placed my order yesterday and I will have my kits on Thursday, not bad from the NW corner of the USA to the SE corner! -

My point exactly. Apparently my thinly veiled sarcasm was taken seriously. -

I agree, but maybe a little more speculating and dire forecasts for the demise of Revell is just what we need. I mean, why bother building kits and posting stuff here relative to the hobby that is positive when one can predict the future based on whatever "knowledge" they may possess? -

Absolutely beautiful. Very well detailed and paint is gorgeous! -
Sorry for your loss Mark, I lost my oldest brother a month ago to cancer. Once they get near the end, they seem to go quickly and it's hard to think of them not being here anymore. Condolences to your family.

Excited about reissued '84 Pro Stock Camaro !!
mikemodeler replied to gbdolfans's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Maybe he means that with different decals, one could build many different race cars. Not familiar with this car, maybe the chassis can be used with other bodies? -
Has anyone heard of The Sales Shack?
mikemodeler replied to MikeRousseau's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Just placed an order, two kits for $35, $17 for priority shipping, $52 Total cost . Was a little surprised at the shipping cost as standard shipping was $1 less. Looking forward to getting the kits, they will become stash residents until I can work them into the build process, probably sometime around 2030! -

This sounds very promising and with service like that, a recipe for success. Might have to look at a few kits that I was thinking about and pull the trigger before they are gone! -
I was disappointed when I bough this kit as it clearly states "2'n1" and there was only one kit inside, talk about misleading!

Looks great over here on the other side of the US! That Jeep is screaming for some larger tires though. -

If by chance you don't want to cut up a bed and potentially ruin it, Bandit Resins offers a short bed resin kit. I think it runs about $15, but goes much faster if you don't want to cut up a bed. -
Any news on a release date? I realize there has been some changes with the ownership at Moebius and that may have delayed production, but it would be nice to know when this might finally be on the shelves.

Nice video, enjoyed looking at the models and it looks like a great variety of builds!

It's a great show and usually a pretty good swap area. I am up in the air as to whether I will be there, have a possible work conflict.

Interesting that the box says F-100 but the vehicle on the box is actually a F250/350 as the wheels shown are 8 lug, 16 inch tires and the suspension is the high rider. Either way, I will be picking up a couple of these, I've been wanting this one since it was first shown.

Embarrassment happens...
mikemodeler replied to DanR's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
At least you have a local hobby shop to call, some of us don't have that luxury. Glad you were able to find a suitable replacement, hopefully the new stuff will work just fine.
