Hobbico - BANKRUPT!
mikemodeler replied to niteowl7710's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
better switch all of my old Revell kits on eBay to "Buy It Now" before some unsuspecting buyer hears that Revell is going to be around for a while longer! This is good news so far for our hobby, it will be interesting to see what the future holds. -

I might have most, if not all, of the black Chevelle kit that I would LOVE to get rid of Brian! I'll check this weekend and let you know. -
Thornbird 4x4 tires

A picture and dimensions would be most helpful in determining interest. -
Revell bronco
mikemodeler replied to cheyenne93's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
The kit does come with a full top only, the half cab is an aftermarket item from Olson Brothers resin. -

Thanks for sharing, I will NOT be buying one afterall. Sounds like it had potential to be a great kit. -

And in the meantime, I will be listing my "Rare" Revell kits on eBay for crazy prices hoping to recover the money I have lost in the stock market this year! -
I think a kit of the first gen Scout would be a great seller, maybe in resin as I don't know if it would be as popular as the Revell first gen Bronco has been, but one can dream!

Not real interested in this if it's the only build option, just not my cup of tea.

1/25 MPC '86 Chevy El Camino & Trail Bike
mikemodeler replied to Casey's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Will do, gonna be a few days, I'm in Florida and the kit is in North Carolina! -
Actually, commenting on class 8 trucks when the topic is clearly labeled pickup trucks is the problem. I have no problem with discussing Class 8 kits, but don't hijack a thread for your own benefit and laziness.

What truck is this?
mikemodeler replied to PierreR89's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That would make a nice tow truck! -
So then why do you keep posting in the light truck topics? If you want to get their attention, then do it in the appropriate topic for semi trucks. I haven't seen people posting light truck requests in the semi truck topics.

Thanks Steve! I guess it will be summer before we see these, which is fine by me, I have a few others to finish up.

The only accessories will probably be a hard hat and optional wheels.

MPC El Camino w/dirt bike at Hobby Lobby
mikemodeler replied to DanR's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Got mine on Monday (April 2) at a new Hobby Lobby in Jacksonville FL. They had the most up-to-date selection I have seen at a Hobby Lobby in a long time. I meant to go back and get the 1/25(?) scale Winnebago travel trailer but ran out of time. Looking forward to building that dirt bike! -
That Deserter kit goes together pretty well, leaf springs notwithstanding. If they cannot be heated /warmed and twisted back into shape, building a new set is as easy as cutting strips of styrene and stacking them to replicate the kits pieces. The other kits do have their issues. With that Monogram step-side, try using good old white glue (Elmers) and test fit and glue it together to make sure it fits and sits right.

Hey Art, can you or anyone connected to Moebius tell us when the F-100 4x4 kit will be on the shelves? I have asked nicely several times with no answer!

Me too, and considering I was asleep and didn't see the email until this morning, I guess I will get "spammed" by virtue of my information being transferred. -
A bit of a rant, and I apologize to our northern neighbors if they get offended. I drove from Jacksonville FL to Charlotte NC today after spending a few days working in Florida and I could not believe the number of Canadians who were driving their RV's home, possibly from a long winter in Florida, and used the middle and left lanes of I-95 to run UNDER the posted speed limit. I figured if my car has a speedometer that reads in both MPH and KPH, and I can determine how fast I am going, why can't the Canucks?

Jeep Rubicon
mikemodeler replied to martinfan5's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I had wondered about this kit and how it would go together, thanks for sharing pictures and your observations. Still on the fence about getting one, will have to see how this turns out. The chassis detail looks really good. -
I sent him an email last Thursday with a list of parts and he responded the next day with an invoice. I suspect I will see my stuff before too long and then I will be under the gun to build!

Grabbed one of these tonight at a Hobby Lobby in Jacksonville FL. Used the 40% off coupon and walked out with it and was $19 poorer.
