  1. I am still wondering when the '70 F-100 4x4 kit will be on the shelf? Glad to see the 65/66 F-100 is coming along and that utility body will be used on so many other trucks.
  2. I wonder if they meet US standards (fuel/safety) and could be ordered for use here? Not that I want/need one, but it would be fun to have something "unique".
  3. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY off the rails!
  4. check out Tamiya TS-48 Gun Gray, not 100% sure if it metallic, but thought it isn't.
  5. Spring is finally here in Charlotte, 72 yesterday, 78 today and supposed to be at least 65 every day for the next week. I could do without the tree pollen but it is that time of year. I hope to get some bodies painted in the next couple of days!
  6. There has been a bunch more "stuff" added to new vehicles today that weren't on vehicles 5-8 years ago. Most cars have back up cameras, crash avoidance systems, improved fuel management systems, and other safety systems, some through government rules, that contribute to the cost. Add in good old marketing and the price gets pumped up only to give big discounts! If you are serious about a GM truck, they are making deals on 2018 models as the new 2019's will be rolling in soon. Another option to consider is looking for a year or two old vehicle, with low mileage, that has already been depreciated by 25-30% while still having a lot of useful life left in it.With programs like Carfax, you can check a vehicle out a little better than in the past, taking the salesman's word that it was driven to church by a 90 year old great grandma!
  7. Those are railroad vehicles. Special equipment to run down the rails, usually hydraulically activated.
  8. Hard to believe he isn't aware of all of the discussion going on Jim. Business people who ignore the elephant in the room usually get what they deserve in the end, it's called karma. A simple email reply is all that is necessary- no long winded excuses, just a simple "I'm sorry it's been so long, I am working on getting caught up" and then ACTUALLY shipping the order. Said it before- Don and Carol Holthaus had it right, orders are shipped in the order they are received, that way no one is left behind- and it should be the way a business is run.
  9. Kinda like when Revell had a Corvette 429?
  10. That is a Mopar holiday
  11. Sounds simple enough, but maybe the profit margin isn't there to allow for it. I think where many of these suppliers make a mistake is in promising fast turnaround time. The Modelhaus had a policy of about 6 weeks from order to delivery and in many cases it was less than that but they always stated "allow 6 weeks for delivery" and "orders are filled in the order they are received". Don't remember Don and Carol having the issues or complaints because you knew UPFRONT the lead time and Carol was good about letting you know if there was a problem. Something most small businesses overlook is the customer service aspect of the transaction. Good customer service is not hard but bad customer service is easier.
  12. Nice job, love the color choices!
  13. People ask me why I have a dozen snappers in my stash and this is why! These kits build nicely and can be the answer to getting back to building when that detailed build is giving you a headache. Nice paint and details, love it!
  14. And ruined whatever reputation he had earned in the past as a good guy. Sorry, but if you are struggling, let people know and stop taking orders until you get it worked out, unless your goal is to take money with no intention of fulfilling orders.
  15. Not the first nor the last cottage industry hobby supplier to take people's money and disappear. Others have been well documented and some resurface with a new company, others just come on to forums like this and act like nothing happened. Sure do hope those that are owed product either get it or their money back. I would think an inquiry at the post office or local PD might get the ball rolling......
  16. The rants and raves are still there, under the community section, the personals are gone. Yes, the R&R section is source for some of my good laughs and jokes.
  17. Sweet build, love how you make it look so easy.
  18. The last couple of model shows here in the Carolinas have seemed to be pretty well attended. They (SCMA and CKM) do a good job of promoting the shows and make sure there is a good mix of vendors and models on display. Some shows have more vendors (actual hobby shops/suppliers) but they do a great job of having a nice mix of product available to buy. The number of models on display seems to be the same, haven't checked actual registrations against previous years but tables were full.
  19. I saw where the overnight snow that fell in Martinsville has postponed the racing until tomorrow. It's been awhile since snow has forced the cancellation of racing for the day, I think the last time was at Bristol. Gives me something to have on while I am working in the home office tomorrow.
  20. That is looking fantastic, great details on the engine and the paint job looks perfect.
  21. There were multiple MPC and then AMT kits that had that body in it. Brian is right, likely from the DOH series given the white plastic, only issues were in various colors.
  22. The 72 Blazer is crude but a better kit than the Ramcharger IMO. The quality of the kits from that era aren't that great but it's what we have to work with. My suggestion is to build them the best you can and use them to improve your skills.
  23. Well, sounds promising, any hints Dave?
  24. Quite a nice looking pair you have there Mate! Love the stock and off roader versions, nicely detailed!
  25. I bought my Mega Million ticket, I think if I win the $468 million, I should have enough to buy Revell!
