  1. Wow, nice job! Your extra work really paid off here - unibody looks about right. I really like seeing one done as a stock 6 cylinder. For what it's worth, the gas tank on the Ranchero is actually hung by straps under the bed - it doesn't recess up as much as yours does, but most people won't know that.
  2. Thanks, Tim! One thing I have to take issue with in the article is the statement "Another kit highlight was Heller’s F1 tires." They're fairly awful in my book - I replaced them with better ones from MFH.
  3. Hey, I just finished building that car last year (make sure you scroll down for the pics):
  4. I'd like to see them bring back "Fred Flypogger as Speed Shift" eventually.
  5. Interesting . . . it's not on the Round2 website, but the Cobra Chopper is?
  6. Wow, okay - watching with interest. I saw the 2 and the 2E race. Looks like you're doing the late style 2 with the 2C style wing? I have a few Chaparral builds planned here myself. I have the LS kit, the HRM kit, and and old Cox slot car body.
  7. I believe there are several people who have in fact used it that way. I'd still like to see an FIA Cobra in kit (plastic) form though!
  8. No good reason other than "lack of modelling skills", ha. I think I've improved it slightly since I took that photo; getting closer to paint now.
  9. These Appleton spots from R&M are just the ticket!
  10. Now with trailer! Finished the trailer a while ago, but was waiting for some R&M tires to balance it out.
  11. $60k and they put the wrong engine in it?
  12. Flathead about ready to go in:
  13. Excellent work - very realistic! I had no idea they made a model of such a thing.
  14. Body is on the chassis and the interior is done. Thanks again to Casey for the boot. I'm on track to finish it this year!
  15. After learning that the Pierson coupe used a lot of '40 Ford components (suspension, brakes, steering), I figured I'd add a little more detail and picked up one of these for parts: In case you haven't seen one, it's a beautiful kit, extremely well done. One thing led to another and I soon realized the frame and interior pan is a near drop-in to the '36 body. Here's the frame assembled and painted. The only alteration is adding a battery box under the seat (the stock '36 location).
  16. Yes, they are called "tunnels", although F1 cars these days are only allowed to use rear diffusers. https://www.symscape.com/blog/secrets_of_diffusers https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ground_effect_(cars) Great work, Claude!
  17. I just started building one of those this week. Not going to build it clear, though.
  18. Another thing to check might be your printer settings. I've used the Expert's-Choice ink jet paper (made by BMF) and I seem to remember at one time they recommended that the printer to be set for photo paper (if your printer has such a setting), although I don't see anything about that on my current pack, hmm.
  19. Looks like they're just white crosses? Shouldn't be too hard to just cut them out of white decal paper, or even mask and spray them. Either way, I've got some different ideas in mind for mine.
  20. Hey guys, in case you didn't see it, the Torque Trike is scheduled for this month!
  21. Nice - I see the "Torque Trike" (Black Max) is due already.
  22. Replicas & Miniatures has them (RM-152). Five wheels with separate lug nuts.
  23. I built the Italya version about25 years ago, which I believe is the same kit with different decals. Hasegawa did a bunch of versions of the F3000 Reynard, some have engine covers, some don't, but I think they're all pretty much the same kit otherwise. Scalemates listing here: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/hasegawa-23003-reynard-89d--320822 I don't have any pictures of my build handy at the moment, but from what I remember it's a very nice little kit. Goes together well, almost Tamiya quality. It has a good Mugen engine and ample potential for added detail if that's your thing. Let me know if you need any more info, maybe I should pull my build out and shoot a few photos.
