73' BMW 2002 TII with BBS Motorsport E76 wheels [1/24 Hasegawa]
TonyK replied to e30lover's topic in Model Cars
One of my favorite BMW's and all of your work produced an excellent looking model. Thanks for sharing. I would never attempt to tackle this project so will just enjoy your pictures instead. -

Thanks for the info and the work involved for us to enjoy the best model message board. -
Glad to see I'm not the only one who observes all these commercials the same way the rest of you do. The half man/half motorcycle dude has an attitude in all the commercials and I don't see how that appeals to anyone. I have never "asked" my doctor about a particular drug I saw on tv. I trust he knows what's best for me. And I've always wondered what exactly is in these drugs that would make you want to kill yourself? And I've never understood advertising a drug I can't go down to the store and buy. Seems to be a waste of money. Oh, and sometimes they throw out "see our ad in Golf magazine" or some-such thing. Why? You just showed it to me on the tv.

Hey, I built this kit and you're right, it was fun. I like your paint job much better than mine as I just used aluminum. -
You want to get started on ads? I'm annoyed by most and try to entertain myself at the same time. Lowest prices of the season, lowest prices EVER, friends and family discount, this weekend only (really, no other weekends) and most sales are preceded with a name as if this makes them better. Y'know, Memorial Day, Presidents Day, July 4th, etc. These are just the print ads. Television is even worse with stupid visual antics and yelling or loud noise. Yeah, that's gonna make me want to pay attention as I hit the mute button.

Some will ship how they want to ship and others give you a choice. I've had my problems with USPS shipping but lately I've been impressed. It's a gamble and I'm sorry to read about your problems.

Wow! A nice variety of subjects and they all look stunning. Had to have spent a lot of time on these but the result shows. -

Lotus Indy car or Offy Indy car reissue possibility?
TonyK replied to Amtronic's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Yes, the AMT F1 car kits would be nice to see again. Box art looks like Spa. -
Very nice model you built there....and a lot of wiring!

Same experience with me only the first time was on HBO or similar. Just wasn't clicking with me but since then I tune in any time it's on and have to force myself to move on. Everything about it makes me laugh and I use quotes from the movie often in every day life.

My favorite has always been the B17. Every time I see a picture of one it does something for me just like a good looking car does. Corsair and a P38 and the B47 would be my next favorites. Throw in many WW2 fighters and that completes my list. I can never grasp the looks of a Lancaster. It always looks to me that it shouldn't be able to fly. Just a huge beast but obviously did the job. Have enjoyed building models of all of them in the past.

I vaguely remember that Renwal submarine hanging on the wall when I was a kid. My Dad built about 10 subs and had a nice display downstairs. I think I'd enjoy building something like that for a change from car models.

I'm always in awe of the military modelers. Really like what you've done to combine the tank and car theme here. A good imagination and you pulled it off. Looked like you had some fun. -
Real nice. I never liked this particular Mustang but your build took me right back to the movie. Very good looking model.

Luckily I haven't got the phone calls but get mail every so often for an extended warranty on my cars. What's funny is to read them as they are so generic and don't really say anything specific. Slightly entertaining and then tossed into the recycle bin.

Kits they never issued- but should have
TonyK replied to Paul Payne's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
In general, I'd like to see more passenger cars made that aren't an SS or the giant cubic inch engines or bucket seats. Y'know, regular family cars. Not always the top of the line ones. -
"O Brother Where Art Thou". So many great things about this movie.

Amazing! The more I look at it the more I'm impressed with your skills. Thanks for sharing.

Great! Always enjoy it when a builder adds extra items to a model. Shows a personal side to the modeler. -
So glad you went to such pains to build a great replica as I enjoyed looking at all your pictures. It is appreciated!
