That looks great! I like your interior too. How about some info on what you did there?

AMT Modified Stocker with the suspension lowered, modified the roll cage and added a dashboard even though you can't see it. Used the hood and windshield from the AMT Chevelle station wagon. I really enjoy these Modified Stocker kits and tried to change things a bit but not sure it's all that different.

Typical Tamiya kit that goes together without a single problem. Painted as they suggested with Tamiya German grey and clear. Odd paint scheme with the blue and white but the decal placement worked out fine replicating it. Always enjoy building Tamiya kits and found this one to go together even easier than past kits if that's possible, Everything had nubs or pins on the parts so it was never a problem lining all the odd body parts and other pieces together.

Got the decals from Mike's Decals and they also provided a template for the hood. That was a headache for me but part of the problem was I used too thin a sheet as thicker plastic wouldn't have warped so much when I bent and glued it. The decals were nice to apply without any problems. Sanded the Goodyear off the tires to apply Hoosier decals from my decal stash but not much else needed to be done from the Monogram sprint car kit.

Very nice looking model. Wasn't this car color Tamiya made a specific can of paint for?

A very sharp looking car and I like your choice of decals. -
Great looking model! Glad you took all those pictures as I really enjoyed looking at your work.

The wife recorded it but we haven't watched it yet. I told her how many times can I watch these documentaries on him? Your "thumbs up" may make me sit down and check it out.

This continued technology always reminds me of the movie Wall-E with everyone being a fat you-know-what spending their life in a chair and everything being done for them with a push of a button.

Excellent job on the model and a great movie.

The Blues Brothers! Great movie and great music. "Gotta go see the penguin"

Went to Hobby Lobby yesterday for a bottle of paint with my 40% off coupon of course. Ad in the paper showed 40% off all models but there was no sign in that section at the store. Would think they'd want to promote that but guess not. Nothing I wanted anyway. Seems to be the same kits I saw the last time I was there a month or so ago.

1917. Many of you may have already seen it but finally watched it on Showtime or HBO or one of those cable movie channels. Thought it was great. War movie that really captured my interest watching it as I got caught up in the story of 2 guys that have to get a message to another "company" so have to get from point A to point B to deliver it. I won't give anything away but reminded me of a video game where you have to deal with all these different scenarios along the way. Found myself in the characters shoes as they did this and had my heart thumping faster at times. Just a good story in my opinion.

Removing partial chrome plating, or paint over?
TonyK replied to thedude's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I always try to scrape the chrome off but if the surface is irregular I've brushed some dullcote on first before painting. -
I enjoy dark roast also; just as I like my dark beer. Mostly drink Seattle's Best and have never tried Peet's because it seems to be the most expensive at the store but maybe it's worth it? Odd story about UPS with all the electronic gizmos to direct you to the exact destination I don't know how there would be a problem.

Bought the kit and was surprised/happy to see a new correct decal sheet. Lifeguard is spelled right. Don't know how you would know from the box but I ordered online so had no idea until I opened the box. Anyway, good for Revell for fixing this.

VERY nice!

What the?! I'm so impressed with your imagination and your "weathering" technique. Everything looks like it's metal. Could look at these models for hours.

That model looks like a real bike! You did a great job! Thanks for sharing. -
97 years old. This guy was amazing and I've enjoyed reading so many stories about him that I'm not even going to try and say anything. Most everyone probably already know the stories anyway. Glad he made it to 97. He deserved it.

Do you say and try not to buy any more kits but
TonyK replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
One of the reasons I rarely go there. I think the last few times I've gone there was for a bottle or can of paint and that's been a few trips in as many months.
