These might have part of George of the Jungle. Anyone remember Clutch Cargo? Discovered him in the late '50s and fell in love with his airplane, which I found out many years later was a Bellanca Airbus/Aircruiser. A few years ago I bought the box DVD set and watched many of them again (they are REALLY stupid to an adult). In some episodes the Bellanca is replaced with a Noordudyn Norseman. There might have been a DH Beaver in there, too.

Design Pitch: MPC Retro "Forever 80s" collection

IIRC it was around a '92 model, and I believe it's the same boxing I built right around that time just because I liked the beautiful turquoise paint Chevy laid on them last year. IF he still has it, I could probably get it from this vendor for $20, maybe even less. So you think I should get it? I'm not that wild to build another one, but it's always good to pick up stuff with good "swap fodder value." -
Any up dates on the Moebius chevy II gasser ?

Tim, your wheel openings look amazing! If I can find the mag locally, I just might buy it JUST to see how you accomplished that. Still, there's just something about the whole front end of that kit that doesn't look right to me--just doesn't look like a '70 Cuda front end--and I cannot quite put my finger on just what it is. Maybe the bumper doesn't protrude enough? Maybe the top line of the front fenders tapers down too much, or too quickly? I need to put some serious research into this, as I have at least two copies of this kit and no desire to build either of them until I can figure out how to fix it. -
Very cool, Chris! Drive on!

Here's a pretty comprehensive list, though I don't think all of these were Saturday morning: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_animated_television_series_of_the_1960s

At long last, some concrete information about what's in that book! This comes darn close to getting my attention/interest. -
They did substantial revisions on that kit to bring it up to stock specifications, which it had never really been before. IMHO that issue is the best of all the Monogram '65/66 releases.

Rocky & Bullwinkle Any and all Warner Brothers Hot Wheels The Beatles Johnny Quest, but he wasn't Saturday morning, he was prime time at one point.

I walked away from an unbuilt MPC Beretta at last week's toy show. If the guy still has it next month, should I get it? What's it worth? -
Looks pretty clean. Model on!

$20 will still buy you two packs of smokes where I live, but not quite three of the cheap off brands. When I was at university, $1 would almost buy three packs of any brand you wanted at the campus store. Kinda puts paying $30 for a $2 model, or $2 for a 15c bottle of paint into perspective, don't it?
-
OMG how could I have forgotten those? I've built a full-detail '70, Snake-Fu-ed a red '70 promo, and even as we speak am in the middle of a dark metallic blue '70 promo. These are every bit as nice as the Revells.

Revell '68 roadster and/or '69 coupe. Now about 30 years old, they're still fine, fine kits and have been reissued many times so are readily available cheap.

I agree! Very nice! If you want to build the Doug's car, you won't be able to do it from either Mobius kit. One's a hardtop and the 2DS is a '65, which has a different roof from the more common '62-'64s. And of course neither will have the altered wheelbase. All hope is not lost, however. MCW has a '63 2DS body that looks just about perfect for the Doug's car. https://mcwfinishes.com/shop/ols/products/1963-chevrolet-ii-2dr-sedan-funny-car

Rare 'Cuda up for auction

I'd buy it, but then The Lovely Mrs. Snake would want me to buy her one, too, so i guess I'm out. -
The Revell '67 Vette roadster has them (probably the coupe, too), though of course they'll be 1/25 but I doubt it would be noticeable. I have a copy of the kit I got cheap and have been parting out. Glad to send them to you. Email me your address to: snakeacp45 at AOL dot com Model on!

Inaccuracy in in the eye of the beholder/buyer/builder. I can think of at least half a dozen kits with what I consider unacceptable (in some cases, unfixable) shape issues that others seem to buy and build in droves. -
Very nice! Drive on!

Of course chopped tops were allowed in Gas class--remember Ohio George's '33 Willys and all the others? I just checked the '68 rulebook and chopping, channeling and sectioning were still allowed, up to a total of 4 inches. A '65 Nova gasser would have been a rare and odd bird in 1965. Very few brand new cars were made right into gassers (yes, there were a few exceptions). Would have been more plausible for 1968-69 or later. We all know that many '62-'65 Novas got the AWB treatment around 1965 to try to cash in on the lucrative match race circuit. Should the sedan roof be taller? If so, then it's definitely chopped (assuming the AMT HT body is accurate). -
Go for it. If it looks good, take some pics and post us up a tutorial!
