  1. Yes. In the DC area, Bozo was played by...wait for it...Willard Scott!
  2. Is there a Hobby Lobby, Michael's, or Jo-Ann Fabrics near you? Some of them carry embossing powders. I bought mine at a HL a couple years ago.
  3. In my experience, Wet Look Clear is very tough stuff. It looks to me like you haven't smoothed it out down to level yet. I've never used the Micro Mesh pads so can't comment on their grit. If I were trying to fix this, I'd start with 3M WetOrDry #1000 grit, wet. Then on to #1500, then #2000, again, wet. Then my beloved Wright's Silver Cream.
  4. Flintstones pretty much was prehistoric Honeymooners. I didn't realize that until years later, as I was too young for Honeymooners in first run and didn't learn about them until late-night reruns many years later. And Jetsons, of course, was pretty much space-age Flintstones.
  5. Alan, just to clarify, I believe the two cars in Chuck's pictures are the AMT second issue (one issue of which was the Pro Shop) and the Revell 2D sedan, not the Revell snapper hardtop., which is a completely different kit. I happen to think the Revell snapper is a nice kit, but Chuck's opinion of it doesn't seem to be quite as high as mine, if I read his comments correctly.
  6. He didn't actually say there was a Tamilya '57 Chevy. The above is what he said.
  7. OMG, I just saw her on a Seinfeld rerun the other night!
  8. Probably the sharpest completed build of this kit I've ever seen. Well done and model on!
  9. Yes, but then again so is the ZZR.
  10. Went to mine today. The Model Masters were on sale, but very picked over and not much left. Even worse, the store morons had removed the label tags from the rack! I had to sit on the floor and look at every remaining bottle and can, one by one. No MM lacquers of any kind left. I did get one can of Blue Angel Blue enamel, and eventually found 8 bottles that might be useful for something. Total was $10.06 including tax. Only marginally worth the trip.
  11. Here's the one I built about 10 years ago. I removed the roof vents and '65 emblems to make into a faux '66, or '66-"ish." Last year I picked up a cheap glue bomb at the local toy show and laid a couple hours of Snake-Fu on it. Before and After:
  12. Looks better than the Fireball 500! Well done and model on!
  13. Any of the ones in Chucks's post.
  14. That one does. I think it's been issued in stock form too, though. It would be easy enough to swap on stock wheels/tires from an AMT or Revell kit. I'm sure there are plenty of those floating around the board if you just ask.
  15. For a sedan, the Revell, no question. For a hardtop, probably the all-new/revised AMT, but if a curbside will suit you, the Revell Snapper might meet your needs. Both are better than the original AMT and way better than either the Revell or Monogram.
  16. VERY nice! Have you seen the Welly 1960 AR Spider? It's available with top either up or down--the one I got at Rite-Aid last year has the up-top. I THOUGHT I'd posted about it here but I just ran several searches and can't find it. Anyway, it's not quite as nice as these of course but it's a typical "pretty nice" Welly--WELL worth the $10 buy-in.
  17. I've observed that many people want to grow up as much like their parents as possible, and just as many want to grow up as differently from them as they can. "Preacher's Kid" is a stereotype for a reason, for example. I'm somewhere in between--I'm mostly like my parents, I guess, but in other ways I'm 180* from them.
  18. Gary (Gramps) can probably give you the definitive answer, but I'll take a shot. First, I don't know anything about 1/18 because that's out of my price and space range. In 1/24, if either Franklin Mint or Danbury Mint did the '63, those would be the best, but you'd have to search for them and be prepared to spend fairly large $$$. There are several "affordable" '63s in 1/24, and I have a few different ones. Of these, the best I've seen is the Welly, which is available in that "silver blue" color. My favorite DC vendor isn't showing them right now but google shows they're available from several vendors. You shouldn't have to pay more than $30 for one, and you might find it for much less.
  19. He was also Inspector Gadget.
  20. "Watch out for that tree!"
  21. Sweet! I'd be happy to own any or all of them.
  22. That looks so right it's just sick! Buick actually used Chevy Rally Wheels on at least one model, the '67 GS340, but of course they had Buick emblems in the center caps. Well done and model on!
  23. Revell never did their own C2 Corvette until the '67s, and then later the '63 Snappers. The '65 in the Revell box set is indeed the Monogram, from the early days of their merger. The Monogram originally appeared as a modifed car, not stock. To clarify, I didn't mean this whole kit is one of Monogram's best, I meant that the issue with the red 396 on the box was the best issue of the Mono '65 Vette as they finally added all the correct stock parts. They are. Revell has never done a '65 Vette.
  24. In the meantime, I talked myself into wanting and buying another air rifle from the original vendor I was trying to deal with. Ordered it Monday, it arrived today, YAY! Its a nice looking piece and very much what I expected, BUT it had a broken part right in the box, and the front sight was canted to one side to a noticeable and disturbing degree. Contacted their customer service immediately, haven't heard back yet. I plan to send it back for replacement unless they can tell me how to fix/adjust it to my satisfaction. Or unless they offer me at least a 25% discount as a "factory second" or damaged good. Still waiting for the first rifle I ordered, which is expected Monday.
