  1. VERY cool project! Drive on and keep us updated!
  2. Cops will tell you the vehicle is stopped when the wheels stop rolling. Since the top of the wheel is moving at twice the forward speed as the whole vehicle, wheel movement is real easy to see. I once got a ticket for blowing a red light I didn't blow. I knew the route and timing of the lights, and timed it perfectly, I idled up to the light and just as I got there it turned green, so I got back on the gas. The cop, watching this from at least a block behind me (maybe more like two), claimed "Your brake lights never even came on at all" (this was at night on empty streets) and refused to accept my explanation. He must have had poor depth perception.
  3. Yah, that was a real mess. If there was ANYTHING on your list that was now out of stock (and stock was decreasing by the minute), it refused to process the whole order, and it wouldn't tell you what the problem was! You had to start all over and try to guess what was now gone. I had to go through it two or three times before I finally got an order to take. And when it came, it had an error--I ordered '66 Vette stock wheels and they sent '65s. I didn't bother to complain at that point; they had enough problems going on. I ended up using them to "sweeten the deal" on a swap I did with Gramps46, so it all worked out.

    69 Camaro

A Camaro's either an SS or a Z/28, it can't be both. As it sits, yours is neither, it's just a Camaro with the RS front end and taillights. That said, it is spectacular! The finish is especially stunning and you don't often see 1G Camaros in this color. You achieved perfectly exactly what I was trying to do with my own recent build of this great little snapper kit (which I won't post here so as not to step on your thread). VERY well done and model on!
  5. Email me at SnakeACP45 at AOL dot com. And if you go back to PMs and try to write me again, your original PM text MIGHT pop up and you can copy and paste it. At least that usually works in posts here.
  6. And I think I bought a recent reissue of it at Ollie's last year.
  7. Get that, and then kitbash the common Revell '67 hardtop onto it. I KNOW you have the skills to do it.
  8. I did this with cheap generic kitchen foil, and the paint polish polished it up nicely.
  9. No, I just use rubbing alcohol to take off superglue fog.
  10. You win the "My 2019 Models" thread award. Soon there will be nothing else here on Page 1. Nice output, BTW. Some cool stuff in there.
  11. What he said. It might be helpful if you'd tell us what car the windshield is for, and--even better--post a pic or two of the exact damage. We might be able to tell you whether or not it can be fixed, and/or suggest alternatives.
  12. Meh. Not EVEN in the same league.
  13. You wouldn't have liked my '69 Camaro. But maybe you would have--I had it painted that way in 1978, LONG before that color became a thing.
  14. Very cool! I like the finish you put on the wheels.
  15. Looks like you're making good progress, Misha, and it looks like you're well within striking distance of GITTIN ER DONE! Drive on!
  16. Very nice! I haven't seen that one before.
  17. Absolutely! I do it all the time. Only problem is with tube glue, especially older tube glue, which can penetrate and frost the plastic to a depth that can't be polished out.
  18. Very, VERY nice! Great finish, and your foilwork is exceptional. Well done and model on!
  19. I'm with you. I'm a builder, but I'm amassing quite a collection of (inexpensive) diecasts of cars I like, but not enough to spend my typical 40-60 hours building.
  20. Yah, it just need some first degree Snake-Fu!
  21. Model airplanes. Sometimes my model paint comes in handy on gun work.
  22. Don't even remember what-all I ordered. And you probably won't believe this, but I haven't opened the box yet! Someday I'll NEED something in it, and I'll have a Christmas in the middle of the year. I do remember ordering a '68 Coronet kit, several '67 Camaro RS grilles (and a couple hoods), rear bumper for '63 Riviera, Javelin spoilers and several other '69-'70 Javelin parts, one or two '65 GTO headlights/bumpers, and a bunch of random stuff for '66 Skylarks and AMT '63-'67 Corvettes (which I have several of to restore). On "final final sale day," I scored a '66 Impala rear bumper. Later on I scored an otherwise nice promo that was missing only a rear bumper. I hope to have that one restored by the end of the year.
  23. Fabulous, Bernard! I'll mark you down as DONE for the next update. If you can't get another one done by the end of the year, don't worry, we'll probably have a Round 6. (I hope!)
  24. Me too. At polish time, I wet-sand down to the primer, and then while polishing, the primer comes off, too, leaving lovely BMF.
