If I had that model and that calendar, and didn't have anything better to use that month, I'd roll with it. I bought a Ferrari diecast kit at Hobby Lobby last year but I forget what it is--might be the same one you have above. I'll have to dig it out and slap it together one of these days.

I try to make ALL my models "cool," of course, but one that pegs by "cool meter" recently is the original AMT '65 Mustang custom I bought off eBay and restored a few months ago. I didn't paint it, I didn't build it, I just fixed a few broken things and touched up some minor damage and did some general very minor Snake-Fu on it. This model just makes me happy for some reason.

Walmart had some good ones today. M2 '70 Boss 302 Mustang in Grabber Blue (pass--I already have other B302s in red, yellow, and Grabber Green). M2 '70 Challenger RT in white (pass--I'm very happy with my Welly '70 T/A). JADA '70 Chevelle in blue--very tempting, as it didn't look oversized and even the wheels weren't awful, just over sized Mag 500s, but I passed because I just rescued a Franklin Mint one in blue. And '69 Dodge Charger Daytona in orange (#71). This one looked good and not oversized; it might even be 1/25. I got it and hope to lay some Snake-Fu on it very soon. Doesn't look like it will take much so it goes to the top of the list.

Was this last seen as part of a Cougar funny car team from Model King a decade or so ago?

She should take the $28K offer and run. It might be possible to recover that and more in retail sales, but how much time and effort would it take? -
Two GREAT tunes, Von Zipper!

Looking good! Drive on!

Beautiful finish! Well done and model on!

If the body is the dark gunmetal gray, it might polish up nicely! I polished up their Camaro molded in "pearl red" and it looks good. On a related note, I got a 1/24 diecast kit of a '17 (I think) Camaro that went together quickly and looks good. Maisto, I think? Anyway, I got it at Hobby Lobby 40% off.

16 1/24 diecasts for $1500? Good luck with that. My guess is he'll be lucky to get $500 if he wants to sell them all at once.

Very nice! One of my alltime favorite funny cars. Well done and model on!

Very cool! I'm not much of a Show Rod guy, but I always thought The Invader was kinda cool. You're doing good work with it. If you need inspiration, there's a VERY nice built one shown in the brand-new Contest Annual from the "other magazine." Good luck and Drive On!

I'll see your metal and raise you a clean Corvette.

Very interesting. Looks like at some point it might have been Milner's AG coupe.

VERY interesting! I've had a JoHAn AMX on my shelf for decades and it never occurred to me that it looked "big." Haven't been able to do any actual measuring, but last night I was able to compare the diecast ERTL body with a JoHan kit body (unbuilt) and they're virtually identical in size--nothing like the typical 1/24-1/25 difference I'm so familiar with. So I wonder if the JoHan Javelins are 1/24, too? Hmmmmmmm......

Is that plastic or a diecast? If it's a diecast, you can either just take the graphics off with non-acetone nail polish remover, or strip it back to metal with "aircraft stripper" (DON'T use the purple pond or anything else lye-based). If it's plastic, you can try the purple pond or Easy-Off. But last weekend at the local toy show, a guy told me that NOTHING he'd tried including brake fluid would take the pre-paint off an AMT Phantom Vickie (purple with graphics).

Agree with you completely. I'm only interested in 1/24-1/25 and don't bother looking at other scales. I don't think I've ever posted a diecast here that was unmodified--what's the point? I enjoy modifying and detailing and improving my diecasts with "Snake-Fu," and treat them just like plastic models. I'm well over 100 diecasts now but haven't yet Snake-Fu'ed them all. Did a rough count the other day and it looks like I've done about 86 or 87 of them and made them shelfworthy.

I was thinking Meat Loaf's "Bat Out of Hell" had a Vincent bike in it, but in googling, apparently not. (Maybe he sang it live that way on the version I have--I'll have to check.) But along the way I ran across this list of 11 Best Motorcycle Songs: https://www.loudersound.com/features/motorbikes-rock-metal-playlist
