  1. I knew there was some reason I liked you!
  2. Would that be acceptable to do in real life? Don't think I've ever seen or heard of that done 1:1, but then I don't get out much.
  3. Very, very nice, all of them! I especially like what you did with the TD Vette. One of the cleanest builds I've seen of that kit. Well done and model on!
  4. Very cool! Here's another version by Hindu Love Gods, which was a collaboration between Warren Zevon and an up-and-coming band named REM:
  5. I saw some videos of that airplane, VERY impressive--and that's coming from someone who rode along on a few max-performance airshow demos in an unloaded Turbo Porter.
  6. HAHAHAHAHA! You know who enjoy that joke? Cassandra. She'd also enjoy the model too, I'll bet. Very cool and model on!
  7. Picked this one up at the local toy show for $10 (used). It seemed to be in good shape. This is my first Bburago and it seems a step up in overall quality from the Welly/Maisto/MotorMax stuff I’m used to. Not much to Snake-Fu on this one. I sanded the tire treads, painted the vents in the front valence black, painted the parking lights white and the front side markers orange, and the door handles got Molotowed. Didn’t even have to disassemble the body to white-stem the headlights (it wasn’t needed), though I did white-stem the taillights (easily accomplished with the flip-up rear body). The front and rear grilles were chrome and molded with a very fine mesh pattern, but it wasn’t quite fine enough. I painted the mesh black and think it looks better that way. (Photos of a real one seem to show the grilles in the rear panel and in the lower valence to be body color. I didn’t think I could pull this off with red paint. Oh well.) The photos I found looked like the interior should be light gray instead of Bbrago’s molded light tan. Maybe I’ll fix this someday; for now I’ll just live with it. I like this one a lot and will keep my eye open for other Bburago models of cars of this general vintage. As always, thanks for looking and comments welcome.
  8. I like this a lot, and I don't like that many '50s rods. Well done and model on!
  9. In other words, a kit.
  10. I just got an ERTL '68 AMX kit cheap. It's 1/24 but did I mention it was CHEAP? I hope to get it knocked together soon. (Oddly, it's called a Javelin on the box, but it's definitely an AMX.)
  11. I don't think I've ever seen those axles in a vintage kit, though some of the new Revell snappers have something similar. Have seen a lot of them on promos, though.
  12. And then there was the Pinto. AFAIK, it's the only car in history where the wagon was MUCH better looking than the coupe.
  13. Very nice, as we've come to expect from Randy B! Well done and model on, my friend!
  14. Very, VERY interesting! For some years now I've played with the idea of trying to build a '32 Mustang and your model tells me there's something to the idea. Well done and model on!
  15. Steve, here's my opinion, worth exactly what you paid for it: I'd use the SSIIs. They're not bad looking at all, and you can only use them on Oldsmobiles, which you don't seem to build all that many of. Mag 500s and steelies with dog dishes you can put on almost anything. But of course it's your model, and you should build it exactly the way YOU want to.
  16. The '70-'73 RS front end always reminded me of a Jaguar sedan. I never liked it. Didn't care that much for the straight front end either (I always thought Pontiac did a MUCH better job with the front end of that car), but now I see that Chevy was definitely going for a unified "brand" theme in those years--compare the front ends of the Camaro, Vega, '71-'72 Chevelles, and even the big Chevies. Yeah, definitely a family happening there.
  17. The Earth is definitely round. If it were flat, cats would have pushed everything over the edge by now.
  18. Doesn't look like it would be too hard to scratchbuild.
  19. Great to hear, and she's a cutie!
  20. Got a couple of 'em now. I need to get to work on one of them. Thinking of doing it as a tow car for a road racer or drag car.
  21. If HL gets them and I can get it for 40% off, I'll pick one up just for the Christmas tree and decal sheet.
  22. Very, VERY nice! I like everything about it except the scoop. Well done and model on! I've been thinking of doing something like this myself with this body. Thanks for the inspiration and showing that it CAN be done!
