It was in the kit and there when I built it, it's just fallen out over the years. It might be around somewhere. If not, I bought 2 more copies of this kit at the time just for the engines and wheels (not one but TWO different sets of Torq-Thrust-ish knockoffs). They were only $5 or $6 at the time at Walmart.

AMT also sold the '69. I had one. There's one for sale on eBay right now, but the asking price is WAY out of my league.

I don't understand your question. It's right there in the glue bomb/survivor model. I assume it came in the original kit.

67/68 Camaro RS/SS grille
Snake45 replied to Modlbldr's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
That should work. Now all you need to do is find and read my tutorial on how to fix the AMT body. -
Very cool! Didn't I see this very car on Discovery Channel last night?

Look at the big memory on Casey! Yeah, that's the earlier issue I was talking about. But I shot new pics Sunday, of the blue Yenko with the blue Revell Snapper I just finished, and with that green "68 1/2" in that thread. Will post up some of those sometime soon.

October display: Calendar Mustang: 2015 Mustang EcoBoost in red or orange. Diecast: 2016 Shelby GT350R in blue. This was the closest I had. What can I say? Calendar Camaro: ’68 SS396 in green. Diecast: Welly ’68 Z/28 in yellow. A little closer—I matched make, model and year, but not sub-model or color, but not bad. This is the same model (Welly) I had up last month, except that one is red. The more I look at these Welly ’68 Camaros, the better I like them. I think they’re more accurate in shape than either the AMT ’67-’68 or Revell ’67 kits, at least as they come out of the box. The only “bad” thing about them is they’re 1/24 instead of 1/25. The calendar Musclecar this month is a ’69 Dodge Daytona in dark blue. I don’t have any built or diecast Daytonas, but I do have a serviceable '69 Charger in dark blue (a glue bomb rescue of a couple years ago). Should I have gone with that instead of this month’s Mustang? And for those of you who might be wanting to play along next year, October is when Walmart starts displaying the new calendars—can’t tell you exactly when, but start looking now because some of them sell out fast. (You can get them elsewhere, but they cost $15-16, while they’re $4.99 at Walmart.) At my store they’re usually on an end cap in the school/office supplies section.

67/68 Camaro RS/SS grille
Snake45 replied to Modlbldr's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
It looks like it's set up for the Revell body. You'll probably have to do a little fitting to make it work in an AMT body. -
I forgot to say last night, to me it looks more like a Kass & Bernie cartoon of a '69 Camaro than it does a real '69 Camaro. Maybe I'll build a diorama base for it with it rolling down a boulevard of Wavy As.

I'm assuming the guy's wife will be handing it to him. And dealing with whatever aftermath. -

Dunno if it's out yet, but if it isn't it will be soon. This is the AMT (ex-MPC) '69 Camaro Round 2 will soon be selling in a beautiful new box. AFAIK except for tires it will be identical to this AMT F&F tagged one I bought and built for my son last time it was reissued, sometime around 2003-05? Absolutely straight from the box, right down to decals and wheels. (This one's missing one taillight, which has gone AWOL over the years somehow--not a big deal.) I have other photos of this model side by side with a Revell, and with a previous-reissued MPC, which had a little better body, which I'll post later, but for right now, I'll let these speak for themselves, and everyone can evaluate its accuracy (or lack thereof) on its own merits. Comments should be interesting.

First Look - Round 2's updated AMT 1963 Impala SS
Snake45 replied to tim boyd's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Today on eBay I saw an original unbuilt '63 kit, appears to be complete with all original parts. Sitting there about $30 now, but several days to do, so it's sure to go much higher. Still, if you want one, might be worth watching--sometimes stuff like this goes surprisingly low. -

Agree completely. Buy any common reissued '69 and build on with confidence. If you get the colors close, he'll wet his pants with joy. -
At this particular time, I wouldn't get involved in ANYTHING Ukranian. Just sayin'.

Very nice! I have one of these (red) on the bench at the moment and I hope mine comes out as nice. Well done and model on!

"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!
Snake45 replied to Snake45's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Straightliner, if we do Round 5, I should just go ahead and put you down for it, then? You'll be the first. -
Right now I'm getting ads from Acura of Omaha. I'm nowhere near Omaha, and have never in any way expressed any interest in Acura cars. Go figger!

Super Clean Okay for a Diecast?
Snake45 replied to Snake45's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks for all the tips! Yesterday I sanded the bare areas, degreased them with alcohol, primed them with Walmart white primer, let that sun-bake for two hours, then airbrushed on five or six coats of Pactra Odds N Ends yellow (a perfect match!) cut with lacquer thinner. So far it looks great. We'll see how it dries, but right now it's the best paint on the whole model. Fingers crossed! -

Very nice! But I beat you to it. I had my real '69 Camaro painted almost that exact color in 1978. Well done and model on!

Me too. Checked it out a couple weeks ago and nowhere near the traffic they had 6 or 8 years ago. -
