  1. Agree completely. Rushed and confusing and several doses of deus ex machina thrown in. I was hoping for better.
  2. You were WAY overdue.
  3. Nicely done! Model on, my friend!
  4. Had the same thing happen once with a gun accessory company. Owner had a reputation as a jerk (and a real rude one, too), and at first he was, but when he found out I was a repeat (3-time) customer, his whole attitude changed like flicking a switch and he couldn't have been nicer.
  5. Very clean build and really looks the part. Well done and model on!
  6. Shockingly accurate description of every HL I've ever been in (three or four now).
  7. The '66 Pontiac police car made another appearance in this week's episode.
  8. As we celebrate mediocrity, All the boys upstairs want to see How much you'll pay for What you used to get for free.... --The Prophet Tom Petty, "The Last DJ"
  9. What do you think? Here are a few of my observations from the first episode. 1. Conspicuous by his absence was Big Chief. This kind of thing sounds right up his alley, so I guess his absence means he's permanently gone from SO. 2. Great fun to see them hashing out the "rules," such as they are. Everyone seemed to have an idea in their head of what the concept should be and there wasn't 100% agreement. Maybe about 80%. 3. Fun to see Ryan's difficulty in finding an affordable '69 Camaro, and he doesn't seem to want to settle for anything else. 4. They didn't set a budget or spending limit, but everyone seems to be trying to go as cheap as possible while still being competitive. Couple of them surprised me by leaning toward Fox-body Mustangs. 5. My favorite rule was their "gotta drive it 50 miles to the race site." That will keep at least SOME "reality" on the things. 6. I'd give JJ the edge to come out on top of this thing, but you can never count out Kye Kelly or for that matter Ryan. I just don't see Murder Nova coming out on top, and Axeman is a real unknown here.
  10. I wonder if the Suburban will be back in Season 2? It seemed to sustain a bit of "incoming" damage in Episode 4. Looking forward to Ep 5 tonight.
  11. I think you could get away with the grille, if you could replace the headlights.
  12. One of those hard-working character actors you saw in many, MANY TV shows but never knew his name. "Hey, there's THAT guy again." Thanks for all the good work, L.Q.
  13. To Live and Die in L.A. Great movie. I'd like to see it again.
  14. Also all Pace Cars, and it was optionally available on any SS or Z/28 model.
  15. They're in the photo, they're just not prominent. They should be there.
  16. Hard to argue with you on that one. Lee Marvin, George Kennedy, Robert Ryan, John Cassavetes, Clint Walker, Charles Bronson, Ernest Borgnine, Jim Brown, Trini Lopez.... I think it might have been Donald Sutherland's first movie.
  17. Very nice! I love "Then and Now" builds of this kind, and have done a couple of them myself. Very well done and model on!
  18. Last year I found their cheap Color Place flat white, gray and black primers still listed on their website. Ordered a bunch of it. Couple days later I get an email that these are no longer available. Had the same experience a few months ago re Sure spray deodorant, which has also disappeared everywhere. Moral: Just 'cause it's on Walmart's website doesn't guarantee that it exists.
  19. I'd put Kelly's Heroes right up there, too, unless you're only counting "reality" movies. Welcome to the board, BTW. Don't be a stranger!
  20. Just off the top of my head: Elliot Gould, Ryan O'Neal, Edward Fox. And I'm sure we don't have them all yet!
  21. I think my favorite role of his was in A Bridge Too Far. Thief would run a distant second.
  22. You're right about two different Chevies. I'm halfway through Ep. 2 and the car that was clearly a '65 in Ep 1 is now clearly a '66. I'm as anal about guns as you are about cars and police equipment. The star carries a Target-stocked S&W, and you can see early on that it has adjustable sights, but in a few early shots the barrel looks like a 586, which wasn't introduced until the mid-'80s. In the scene where he shoots Guy in the leg, though, you can see that it's not a full-underlug barrel (i.e., a 586), but I haven't yet decided whether it's a Model 15 Combat Masterpiece or a Model 19 Combat Magnum. (Leaning toward the latter.)
  23. Started watching this yesterday on your recommendation. You're right--it's pretty good! Love the '70 Elky. Don't think I've ever seen one in styrene but it's been done as a diecast. The Tribal Police Chevy is a '65. Could swear I saw a '66 Pontiac in one scene, and I'm thinking it was also carrying Police markings.
  24. This morning when I got up I went out to the garage to have my first smoke of the day. Noticed that my trash man's truck was on the street, thought that was pretty late for him. Ten minutes later he was STILL there, so I went out to check on him (being a recent stroke survivor). He was okay but had a flat tire, and turns out he'd been sitting there for about 2 hours. He couldn't have had it at a better spot--I just happened to have a small, portable compressor and a long extension cord. We got him pumped up and on his way in about 15 or 20 minutes. It felt great to be the one in the position to GIVE some desperately needed help, for a change.
  25. Beautiful! I wonder if these are still available.
