  1. Clean build, fabulous finish! Model on!
  2. This is pretty cool! Love all the junk in the trunk!
  3. Very nice! Your errors aren't obvious and I probably wouldn't have spotted them if you hadn't mentioned them. Well done and model on!
  4. Who are you kidding? You KNOW that when you get into it, you'll replace everything with a vastly superior scratchbuilt part and your finished, magnificent model will have not one kit part remaining in it! Model on, old friend!
  5. What a cool, old-school retrostalgic build! I hope you had as much fun with it as it looks like. Model on!
  6. Very, VERY nice! And your finish is absolutely superb! Well done and model on!
  7. Ace, you made a good argument, and you made it with respect. Respect back.
  8. My Dad taught me at a young age, "It's probably a good idea to be nice to anyone who has anything to do with your food."
  9. He's the Black Sheep Squadron General I spoke of. You didn't have Three's Company? That is so very sad. Every young man needs some Suzanne Somers bouncing around on his TV every once in a while.
  10. But did you enjoy Robert Duvall's bit part? And did you spot the Rat Patrol guy? The Black Sheep Squadron General? Mr. Roper?
  11. No, you only need 4 at the beginning of the chase and 2 at the end. During the chase, you see three (some claim even more) come off, after which it still has two. This is because a good bit of the chase is repeated using footage from different cameras. It's also why you keep seeing the same green Beetle and '68 Tempest. They went down that hill once, with it being filmed by many cameras including some inside the cars. The way it's edited, it looks like they went down at least two hills. They didn't.
  12. Very cool! Kurt, for some reason your bike always reminds me of this car:
  13. And there it is: They at least had hope of finding "greener pastures." They weren't leaving to go to a known desert with no food, no water, no air, and no hope of getting back. (Even the late great Sam Kinison knew what to do in that situation. )* Heck, I bet even where you're going "in the desert" you're going to have water, electricity, and access to extra supplies if you need them. And hey, good for you! I'm genuinely happy to see you (or anyone) making a life change that you've carefully chosen, and I wish you nothing but good luck and happiness out there. *I'm afraid to post it here due to NSFW language, but if you don't know what I'm talking about, go on U2be and search for Sam Kinison world hunger.
  14. Agree completely. Drive on!
  15. Yah. It's kind of like you look at your house and all the paint is peeling and the grass is a foot high, so you decide it would be a good idea to load up a pickup truck with everything you can get on it and just drive into the desert until you run out of gas, and then you'll just live there from now on.
  16. Very clean build. Well done and model on!
  17. That is just TOO funny!
  18. Oh I know. I just thought it would be fun to build them in tandem, but I haven't been able to keep up, so you drive on!
  19. Just for grins, I went looking for Porsche GT4 diecast 1/43 on the net. Found a large and confusing selection. So I tried eBay just to narrow it down. Found them at all prices from $35 up to over $200. Was hoping to find you an inexpensive white one (easiest to repaint), but all the less expensive ones were yellow. As far as building/painting one, it shouldn't be too much trouble to get the basic red/white/blue scheme on it, and the number 11. Tracking down all the little decals--or having them custom printed--is probably going to be a major headache. And that's before we even get into nonstandard wheels/tires and other racing mods. Good luck with your project.
  20. Fabulous! I haven't touched mine since last time we spoke. You're WAY ahead of me. Don't even know when I'll get back on it. Drive on!
  21. Welly makes a nice '70 Challenger diecast in 1/25, but it's a R/T, not a T/A.
  22. You're right about Ronin, but at least that one had a plot you could follow, and some cool car chases and gunfights. Been so long since I saw Repo Man that I don't remember anything about it, so can't comment on that one.
  23. He posted the other day on HyperScale. First time I've seen him anywhere in months and months.
  24. If I wanted to try to match the finish on that Hot Wheels thing, I think I'd at least give Krylon Silver Shimmer a try. (I've used the blue, and have the green and red. The Blue Shimmer job came out nice.) https://www.krylon.com/products/shimmer-metallic
  25. I've had some do that. I believe I actually went on to use at least one of them normally. It seems in at least some cases the goo oozes out, dries, and seals up the leak. Good luck with yours.
