  1. yeah, i can get it posted in the morning if the storm has passed
  2. i can easy send you some, i have 2 sizes and i'll never use it all
  3. the wheel nuts should be acceptable to go to centre locks. there are kits bolt on centre lock hubs to most wheels now, and wheel adaptors to convert almost any wheel to fit any bolt pattern in the 1/1 world. its no longer a case of needing race car hubs for cantre locks. The custom vw guys are even converting bolt on wheels to be centrelocks
  4. theres a 3d file from ditomaso147 on cults that looks similar, but i would try the horn ring from the revell 48 ford on a chevy wheel first as it would probably be kinda close
  5. use glue from a puncture repair kit, or shoogoo2. the shoogoo2 is black glue for repairing soles of trainers. its mostly found in the independant skateboard shops as long as you dont live in california cos it got banned there. loctite also do a version but its clear and full off bubbles and includes silicon which nobody wants near any models. The shoogoo2 does not contain silicon and i'm sure if you were careful could be used to mold your own tyres but its would be a messy process as its really sticky. once it has set it is still pliable. also use it outside, or in the garage with the big doors open. the fumes will affect you otherwise as they are very strong. when i glued up my trainers i left them outside for 2 days cos the fumes hung about for a while
  6. thats sligthly different, the stuff i have is just the braided part. and due to the braiding it can be squashed back on itself lengthways and wire put inside. i can get the 2mm to open up to 6mm but any bigger and the braid opens and can look a bit naff. i found the largest selection of sizes in the loch flies section but thats a scottish thing. it might be called the lake section for anyone outside scotland
  7. if you really want to use non hobby paints similar to rustoleum, it could be worth trying plasti-kote enamels. decent range of colours and they work reasonably well.
  8. you want neutrogena norwegian hand cream. it was all we used on the boat to prevent chapping on our hands. its less than 2 bucks a tube and i can happily recommend it. there are much more expensive versions but neutrogena is by far the best. It even works with salty air, and every person i know that works on fishing boats uses it so it must be good.
  9. am i doing it right?
  10. Another option for braided line can befound in fishing shops that carry kits to make your own flies. There are braided fishing lines that comes on 150ft reels. It is hollow, and if you need a larger diameter you can use wire inside to bulk it up, or to make it hold its shape. You will need very sharp cutter for it or it will fray at the ends but the cutters are available too for around 5 bucks. the fishing line is around 15-20 bucks. It can be painted with acrylics if you plastic prime first. the larger sizes can be thickened up to do radiator lines too. i'll get some pics when i get back home
  11. I was meaning stockish appearing, the only ones i've seen have been customised (only see them on telly on this side of the pond)
  12. nice project, i think your pics is the first stock version i've seen. i'll be watching
  13. lightning mcqueen has really put the weight on since the acting jobs dried up
  14. thats not a 1jz, the 1jz is a straight 6. the v8 is a 1uz
  15. monogram have a 53 sedan and van available in 1/24.
  16. got a pile of old santa cruz skateboard shirts and jumpers, some warm jumpers and a new warm wooly hat
  17. digital surface - a range of full kits of 32 and 33/4 ford coupe, roadster and sedan. all with flatheads and are also available with louvred roofs and trunks. also does a bmw e21 in stance and stock kits. I've done the 32 roadster and coupe and they are very nice. I'll be getting the rest at some point
  18. there is a volvo kit, its a 240 touring car from nunu or belkits and there are numerous aftermarket parts to change it into a wagon or road car. uscp-ua spring to mind first as they carry a pretty wide selection for it. i dont understand how you say only the beetle can be weathered when they have a decent range of other cars that can be aged.
  19. if your wanting lexus instead of a toyota, there is amt rebox of it that comes with a small pe set. it seems to be an easier find
  20. could it be laurel green? it a chevy colour from the 50s and i think a photo of it might fade to something like your pic. I searched for the truck colour rather than the car since they seem to be the same
  21. Thats only in north america Claude, in europe they have laws about competition that they have to follow or they risk being blocked and fined by local and regional governments for breaking the rules. Its this reason that motortrend isn't offcially avaialable in europe without a work around or vpn.
  22. Nicely done, the extra bits you did really add to the model
  23. i've reported myself. i guess i got caught up in the irony more than anything else and didn't think. sorry folks
  24. yeah that was me, but i grabbed the nose of the board cos i didn't know how to ollie. I guess people remember things differently after 30 years cos i'm still not a tourist either and was probably returning from a holiday as at that time stromness was the only harbour for passenger boats from the mainland. I still have my board nexr the door but i haven't been on it in years. the last time it moved was to move my freezer but i'll not get rid of it. Another of my friends from this time now plays bass for cradle of filth (dan firth), and yet another produces industrial music(eriktricity). Their famous in their own areas but i just see the guys i used to hide beer with when we were underage, as its not really a scene i know. if they were rappers it might be different cos i'd know the music
  25. Somebody that I grew up with skateboarding and who is now photo editor (or at least was) at thrasher magazine has me mentioned as one of his influences. It doesn't mention me by name, but it mentions something i used to do that was pretty unique to me. I've not had any contact with him for more than 30 years but I'm seriously touched to be remembered for something 30 years ago. The fact that its one of the top positions in skateboarding he's in and he remembers me as an influence is really cool to me cos i was never that good, and people used to make fun of me for grabbing my board but now 30 years later I find out i've influenced somebody for something. I wasn't even searching for him when it popped up cos i gave up years ago after many near misses by days or even hours as he moved around the country https://blog.slamcity.com/auteurs-ewan-bowman/
