  1. You're right Luc. The character lines around the wheel openings are now smoothed over and IIRC, the gas cap is no longer factory stock. I think there's some other small things but I'm too lazy to go down stairs right now to compare my copy to the '74 annual I have.
  2. About that fuel pump ,, on my 1/1 '69 Riv, it was in the tank attached to the float for the fuel gage. Came from the factory like that. Now that was a 430 engine, not the 425 nailhead like in '66 so I'm not sure all that generation of Riv was like that. My '72 Riv had a standard mechanical pump on the engine as did the other 4 Buicks I had. update ,, it seems just the '69 and '70 Rivs had the pump in the tank but you could say one was refit to the '66. [BTW, I'd be more worried about the lack of headlights than the fuel pump.]
  3. Looks like a set of 8 spoke wagon wheels from a MPC Jeep CJ kit with the spokes painted would get you pretty close to the stock '80 wheels. The centers kinda look like the "volcano" centers from the AMT Gremlin kit wheels.
  4. Just copied this from Wiki,, In May 2014, Mark Andes, bassist of the group Spirit, and a trust acting on behalf of Randy California, filed a copyright infringement suit against Led Zeppelin and injunction against the "release of the album containing the song" in an attempt to obtain a writing credit for the late California.[26] A lack of sufficient resources is cited as one of the reasons that Spirit’s members and their survivors did not file the suit earlier. A friend of California's mother explained: "Nobody had any money, and they thought the statute of limitations was done", adding, "It will be nice if Randy got the credit". If the Spirit lawsuit is successful, past royalties earned by the song—estimated at more than US$550 million—will not be part of the settlement, but the publisher and composers may be entitled to a share of the future profits.[27][28] On 11 April 2016 a Los Angeles district judge ruled that there were enough similarities between the song and an instrumental for a jury to decide the claim and a trial was scheduled for 10 May. The copyright infringement action was brought by Michael Skidmore, a trustee for the late Wolfe.[
  5. I first hears of this several years ago and wondered back then why it never went to court. Apparently Spirit was an opening act for them in part of one of thier '70s North American tours. [ first one I think] I never was a Zep fan, before my time.
  6. That's really cool Larry.
  7. This pic is supposed to have come from Ed Sexton of Revell according to the original posted on the other site so???
  8. Michael, I tint madel glass all the time with the Tamiya clear acrylics. Here's how I do it,, Mist on your clear color coats. This will leave the clear part looking foggy. It won't look very good at first. Then after the clear color is completely dry, give it a couple coats of regular acrylic clear. It will look better but not perfect. Wet sand the clear with about 6000 or 8000 grit being careful not to sand through the clear to the color coats and give it another couple coats of clear. When dry, wet sand and polish like any other clear coated paintjob. This has worked for me for over a decade now. Here's a pic of some I did a few years ago. As you can see they're in a "factory shade" of tint but completely clear. [I do them a bit darker now as it doesn't show up as dark in the pics as they actually are.]
  9. Very sharp ! ,, You don't often see someone do the headlight trim properly on those Caddy kits.
  10. I think the Hangman kit was reverse engineered back to the Dragon Wagon from which it originated. They changed the name to "Circus Wagon " though.
  11. and of corse the Nothern Pikes
  12. Anyone mention Colin James? ,,
  13. Colby, are you looking for a regular non-hidden headlight grille or a hidden headlight grille with the headlight doors open?
  14. Yup, they used the chassis and engine., not the body
  15. It was but Monogram did something similar by putting a "cap" on the back of the Vette so it looked like a wagon. I think it was then turned into the '66 "Stingray" TV show car then the "Black Rat" then the stock '66 or '65 and now the Penske race version. Could have been the 4 door "Corvette America" somewhere in there too.
  16. Maybe the new Yenko Nova will be a '70 LT-1 "Deuce" ?
  17. I built this one over 15 years ago. don't mind the dust. LOL Corrected the side windows as this was built from the first issue. BTW, these trucks only came in white with red trim from the factory. I simply boxed in the foot wells on mine with sheet plastic. No one ever sees it anyway.
  18. The cab side window problem was corrected years ago. Pretty sure it was before the yellow version.
  19. That issue is one of the serise of simplier kits Round 2 did back in 2009 aimed at younger builders. Molded in color and less parts count. also in that serise were the ,, '55 Nomad '57 Chevy '55 Chevy Cameo pickup '70 Camaro Z-28 '66 Pro-Street Nova '33 Willys gasser '06 Camaro concept car It's pretty easy to tell them from other kits by the artwork. Just a pic of the model on the box with "speed lines" n the bascground fading to light grey under the model.
  20. I have at least one of all that generation Impala/Caprice, they all have that chassis, as does the MPC '68 that I have. The MPC '69 and '70s I've seen also have that chassis. Charlie may be thinking of the AMT '70 chassis, which would be a good substitute for the MPC one. A bit more detail but not really all that great either.
  21. Looks really great !
  22. Also keep in mind that the Turbine car was also sold by X-El in the '80s so it may not be an original.
  23. Looks great. Could easily pass for the real thing in a couple of your pics.
  24. Yes, the bodys are the same. The louvres for the GT are moulded to the body and have to be sanded off for the Cobra version.
