  1. And a computer I'd say. The grille in that truck is obviously AI generated and looks like a lot, if not all the rest of that pic is also.
  2. Got the interior finished Modified the door panels and added printed window cranks. Probably should have picked a smaller set but I may pick them off and replace them with power window switches before it's done. Seat is from the AMT '57 Chrysler. It's the right size and looks like a common style custom seat for pickups. Made brake and gas pedals from sheet stock and made a steering column with shifter, tilt and signal stalks from scratch and added a printed steering wheel. I had originally planned to go with a green pattern decals for the seat and door panel inserts but I guess my decal paper is too old and broke apart when I tried to apply them so I went with the light brown. Again common with current pickup builds from the show coverage I've been watching on YouTube
  3. Are you eventually gonna make a set pf plexi covers for over the headlights, Kurt? I always thought that looked cool on the real Daytonas.
  4. Revell Lincoln Futura's are pretty close if not exact.
  5. Been working on the interior. Re-shaped the upper door panels. Some inserts going in the spaces at the top. Seat's from the AMT '57 Chrysler. I thought it makes a pretty good looking custom seat for this truck. Some green patterned decals I made up will go on the seat and door panel inserts. Made a tilt steering column from scratch and will be adding factory style tilt and signal light stalks and a shift lever. Paint is the same Tamiya racing white I used for the side panels on the body and it'll all be dull coated when done.
  6. A couple shots of where it's at right now. Not much progress as I'm concentrating on my Chevy pickup build. Trying to get it ready for a show in a couple weeks. But I will be back on this when the truck is finished. 😉 Not real happy with how the windshield tint is looking right now. Probably clean that up and probably darken the blue/green tint on both windows. Maybe even strip it and start again. Keep in mind it's not sitting right up where it would be when finished also. Needs some white letter tires, I think. Could also use a couple more passes with the Tamiya polish before foiling too.
  7. I have that kit. In doing reference for it [yes, I sometimes do that] I seem to remember reading it was all painted on by hand using some sort of strait edge as a guide.
  8. If some people could walk on water, they'd complain about getting their feet wet.
  9. Sorry to say I'm still waiting for someone to make a kit of one that looks "right". Yes, I used to own one so I'm very particular about it.
  10. I am aware of those. Amazing kits but just not my thing. But this is just what I mean, some people get off on building models like that right from the box. Then there's those of us who get off on taking something like this,, and turning it into this,, , , and just because I did this doesn't mean it takes ANYTHING away from someone who wants to build strait from the box.
  11. Personally, I think there's room for both camps. Some people like to just turn their brains off and follow the instructions and come up with a nice looking model. Some of us like to take that badly engineered kit and use our brains and creativity and come up with a nice looking model. Same destination, different road. I don't even look at building a Tamiya or Fujimi kit as the same as building an AMT or MPC any more then building a car as the same as building an airplane or tank. Different models/different skill set. ,,, and don't even get my started on building a car from a pile of unrelated parts from different kits from different manufacturers. ,well, anyone who'd do that is just nutz. ðŸĪŠ
  12. The actual Jeepster front bodywork is quite different from a CJ. BUT , , I have done that exact mod back in the early '80s with the MPC kits available back then and it was pretty strait forward. And it looked pretty good too. No pics from then but it's not exactly uncommon in 1/1 apparently.
  13. Those are actually hood ornaments.
  14. Any tariffs imposed by Canada would have nothing to do with you Al. That's NOT how tariffs work in spite of what some people believe. 🙄
  15. Excellent. I'm very much looking forward to dropping a few of those down low over some 20s in the near future. 😁
  16. Erik, quick question on another subject, If I may, I'm wondering about the status of the '67/'68 Chevy pickups? I hope all this wackyness that's going on hasn't killed the project. I'm very much looking forward to these.
  17. NAFTA deal was replaced 5 years ago by the USMCA deal
  18. No doubt you guys are correct, I wasn't there after all but the engineering of the RR also looks very similar to a lot of the MPC kits from the late '70s/early '80s such as the Pintos and Mustang IIs and front drive Mopars. The wheel mounting style has MPC written all over it, In fact, I've found that a lot of the wheel retainers and wheel backs from those kits will interchange with the RR parts. Nothing like the snap-on style of the Nova kit and '67 Chevelle released shortly after the Nova. That's why I've been suspecting the RR was in the works before the buyout. But again, You guys would know better then I would with your histories in the hobby.
  19. Nope, he never did any.
  20. That '68 RR was first released sometime in '89. It's not one of that generation of '90s kits. I kinda suspect it ,along with the '69 Olds 442, were the last kits developed by MPC before the Ertl buyout.
  21. Don't know what's up with the upholstery patterns on your pic of the '74 annual but it's not like mine. Note the seam down the center with one button at the top and one in the middle and the head rest area looks more prominent. This doesn't seem to match any Charger sew patterns I can find, maybe someone with more knowledge about them then I do may have more info. Looks like that one was modified somehow. Mine is shown in bare plastic with the only paint being the brown on the door panels and console.
  22. Local shop here in Fredericton had the F-250 4X4 for 53.75 and the new '65 Novas for 46.25. The '72 Ford wrecker was 59 even. Most of his Revell car kits are around 40 and Round 2 around 50. You may be getting ripped off.
  23. Just gonna go curbside.
