  1. Did you raise the wheel well or box it back further? Looks like you opened and boxed back, As long as it works, why not? Kinda how the AMT is and it really does not bother me. You use the dual quad intake to make the tri-power? Looks good
  2. That thing looks killer
  3. I tried some adjustments, still not the greatest
  4. Yea, I need to get a camera and not use my phone...... I'll see if I can change the settings or something. Any recommendations for decent camera for these type of pics?
  5. Absolutely beautiful Mighty Mouse was on his drivers suit and on the car several times
  6. Well, drivers side is modified and glued in a more correct location. let it dry and a little filler and I'll do the other. By left - right comparison, you can see that the car can be lowered now.
  7. Well, been doing some wet sanding and finishing of the body. Should have some paint on it this week. Still up in the air on color. I have mocked up the body/floor and frame. The valance was cut off the floor pan/fender well since it no longer lines up after the changes made. I want to lower the car, so the front wheel wells need corrected now. First was to look at the fender wells here in the garage, and now I see where they are off. The inner fender follows the outer fender opening, it should not it is about 3 to 4 scale inches off. In this pic, the lower black line should be at the bottom of the solid black area. I am not moving it all up, but I will raise the rear area then add styrene up to the solid black area. A little bit of a cheat, but easier. The more I work on this kit, the more I shake my head. So far I am using the AMT 57 front fenders, rear quarters, front valance, front bumper, dashboard. I will say, the grill, frame and engine are nice.
  8. wicked
  9. Hey, little hint for you Howard. If you are using the 2 piece kit tires, use super glue and clamp them tight. After sanding the tread area, the seam will be gone. Looking great, I have one on the back burner. Bright yellow and red. Here is how my tires came out. I did not paint them black first either.
  10. Tom, That is looking really nice. I always liked Willow Green. My dads 57 is Willow and Cumberland. As an FYI, that front valance is silver from the factory, Does not have to be, just letting you know. Also, another FYI, I am pretty sure the center section of the rear end is upside down, not that you would ever see it. I love the color, wheels and stance...... Here is a pic of dads also. I hope we finish it soon. I need to get to work on my replica of it.
  11. lookin good
  12. Yea, I'd like to know the status also
  13. Very nice.... Love these builds
  14. What can I say.... I needed some parts.....
  15. Do not use that Revell valance, it is way wrong and will not look right on the AMT body. Your retractable build looks good, You will need to shorten the roof, it should not sit on top of the windshield frame, but it should butt up to it. Need inner fenders and firewall? Leftover from my current build.
  16. You did better than me... Mine is still not finished. Looks good.
  17. I have that... need to assemble, most is painted and ready.
  18. I took a little more time on the passengers side and got the gaps a bit tighter. Very little filler needed
  19. I have the old front end with the Desoto bumper also. Do not have any of the original rear custom pieces
  20. Thanks guys. I'd have never done this kit, but 57 Fords are among my favorite cars. Sad part is, my other favorite is a 49 Merc, and the Revell kit is a good parts kit, thats all. Maybe I should finish this and send it to Revell and say "this is how it should look" LOL Nahhhhh..... just kidding. Truthfully, these corrections have not been too bad. Thinking of trying to cast the body when it is done. The Del Rio will be a bit more difficult. I may have to work with the kit front fenders because of the trim. I know what you are saying there Kevin. Some would refer to it as rivet counting, but the issues on this kit stood out like a sore thumb to me. Revell has been pretty lax with accuracy on the bodies, and that is the most important part. Give me a screw bottom craftsman AMT over a full detail Revell as of late
  21. Primer looked good but can be deceiving..... a little spritz of paint and I believe it was worth the effort. Very happy about the lower front fender. To the other side soon
