  1. Well, I agree to a point. The boom looks very similar to the one I posted and these also, but it is "boxed" in. Possibly to save engineering or production cost.
  2. Yup, at that time I did not realize the Firefighter and Dyno Don car came out in 1974.... I found a timeline of MPC Mustang II kits recently and my "thought" was debunked. LOL After 78, MPC did not release any Mustang II's with stock pieces, but the build on the 2006 AMT box art was an MPC kit
  3. Not sure bout that, I stumbled across this and it looks a lot like the GMC wrecker. Maybe the wrecker parts would be better suited for an older model truck?
  4. Not sure but I feel the stock MPC II is there somewhere. The first pro stock MPC Mustang II's were the Dyno Don and Fire Fighter car in 1974, I know the stock MPC went til 1977 and in 1978 the MPC King Cobra was issued (stock with new parts) This one was never issued again
  5. That looks great!! Now sure what flaws there are, she looks darn near perfect. I like the engine color too. I know I am going to paint something in that color for sure.
  6. Pretty sure the Mustang II is available in stock version still. It is what was on the AMT/Ertl box
  7. Not a big Corvette fan, but I loved those when I was young. Would love to see them released in original form
  8. Nice... Even with ll the bashing of this old kit, it can be built to look good.
  9. I am leaning towards 67 and 71 Mustang bodies... or maybe a Torino ?
  10. Used often on full bodied dirt cars.
  11. Well, the GTO super stocker is great to see. I may need to get one to do a Cutlass or Chevelle stocker
  12. Decent kit, goes together well, 1/24 scale. Something off in the headlight grill area though. Revell has been known to label a 1/24 kit as being 1/25.
  13. Can this thing really be considered a model? Holy smokes...
  14. We will have to see what they do. I know I am picking up a few kits before the coupons a phased out. Will have to see what they do with regular prices. Kits at HL are $2 more than my LHS, so the coupon helps when they have a kit I want, when they do not have it, I go to my LHS.

  16. Nice job on that. I was going to do the same, but decided to scratch it. The upper part of the tower on mine is the wheel well from the chassis. I should have done "in progress" pics
  17. Anyone know if they are still in business? Newest FB is from 2012! Sent email, no response yet
  18. Shocked.... with political correctness and fear of influencing kids and all, Beer and tobacco advertising on what is considered "toys" disappeared in the 90's examples:
  19. Although not a "newer" truck.... I would love this in 1/25
  20. As an FYI, this modification did not take that long. Not 100% correct, but looks acceptable IMO
  21. This is just another "wish list" thread, unlike the thread on kits that tooling started or were released but never came out.
  22. Fitment and quality does have an impact, but those things can be overcome without much trouble. Correcting inaccuracies is much tougher IMO.
  23. Wow, I read through this thread and found many kits I would have never expected to see listed where-as I knew I would see some. Many listed I was able to make something nice out of. I am going to list my personal worst kits. #5 Revell 57 Fords. Much loved kit that I cannot stomach. The body on it has so many flaws and inaccuracies, but I am correcting one of each. The Multi piece Ranchero and 1/32 are more accurate. #4 Revell chopped 49 Mercury. The sides are flat, lower body too squared off, the roof looks squashed, has a weird chop, windows are too flat, hood is not correct. Tried to correct one, tossed the body in the trash. #3 AMT Earnhardt/Baker 83 Thunderbird stock cars (lump in both Petty Pontiac Grand Prix too) Worst Nascar kits ever IMO #2 Monogram 69 Camaro. Nuff said #1 Lindberg 71 Mustang. Actually a 70 that has been doctored to look like a 71. I am actually trying to make something out of one tho. Dishonorable mention. Revell Chopped 48 Ford. Windshield shape is way off, rear quarter windows shaped incorrectly, another funky "humped" chop, otherwise, nice kit.
  24. I think so, I will need to check and see if the sizes are listed Thanks for the replies guys, I was able to trade off the tires I have, but when I need more, I know where to check.
