  1. My car model budget is safe, my truck budget is screwed
  2. I need the van, Hostess truck and Ford 9000.... I will have to deal with the price I guess.
  3. Now I have seen the flaw, I cannot un-see it.... Great
  4. Love that Barris Merc. Good luck with the build, hopefully you can make that Revell body look good. Would not have been my choice to start with because the sides are too flat and the hood contours are way off. There are other things, but those are the glaring ones from that kit. She shows her die cast roots.
  5. Sweet. They look "just right" on those trucks. Great job, love the broken grill
  6. The Woody, okay. That just needs the AMT front bumper to be more correct. The chopped custom can die a slow death. Great parts donor, but the body is so bad that I pitched it in the trash. I attempted corrections and just gave up. The 48 is a lot better than the Mercury and the rear quarter windows are the only thing really needing fixed
  7. Those look good for that Jeep. Is that the old Revell Mork and Mindy Jeep? The Linbergh F150 has some nice tires too.
  8. Nice build. Yea, seems the 70's and 80's kits had the smaller tires
  9. I recently bought a set of desert dog tires and wheels from that site. These things are HUGE. Definitely not what I wanted. I know there is a 1/25 scale desert dog that is smaller, but not sure where to find them. Anybody have a clue? Pic is a comparison to the Firestone tires from my Super Stones truck
  10. If you cut the valance off, cut the front fenders also. It is one of the many inaccuracies of this kit. Your build is looking great though
  11. I have a Monogram 66 Mustang built... the front end just looks wonky to me. The 67 Coupe would just need side panels for the rear and a rear seat. They could add a score line on the fastback side panel to remove the rear section. Just a thought.
  12. Very cool... Those metallic colors sure do pop
  13. I love the color. Looking good!!!
  14. I like it a lot. Glad to see it was not a graft on the front clip conversion. That would have been really tough to boot. As for the Olds body line, it must stay. Possibly make it a bit more subdued like the Olds wagon.
  15. I just came across this thread..... I must now nap from my information overload and astonishment of this build! Wow, just wow
  16. HAHAHAHA.....
  17. Being a Pinto fan, I'll be watching. Nice job on the inner fenders. Put a flat piece on top the chassis and it will look pretty good.
  18. This one always turned me off. Nice kit, bad representation.
  19. I have several of the faux Boss 351 kits, but I may need to get this one too. The front looks nice, I would just need to use the much nicer AMT tail light and bumper. The bucket seats in the MPC version are horrible IMO, so I may need to cast some from my original AMT 71 Mustang since they are much nicer.
  20. Did not see an "era" specified so then I would pick this as my other dream hot rod. Traditional, Y-block powered. None of the resto-mod changes, rubber band tires. or aero mirrors.
  21. Mine are fairly simple.... Bodies for 65/66 Mustang fastback. 69 Torino Hardtop, 61 Starliner, 67 Mustang Coupe, correct bed for the Firestone truck......ect Retool a few older kit suspensions. (63/64 Chevy, 63 Galaxie, 69 Riviera, 66 Mustang. 73 Mustang, 72 Chevy truck ect) All these mentioned and more could be done as new kits with parts from existing kits My 2 cents
  22. Well, I built this kit as a teenager and had no issues. It is an old kit, and takes patience and trial fits, but to say it sucks is an over-reaction IMO If this kit gives you so many issues, get the Revell snap kit or the high price Revell glue kits.
  23. That is cool. I can see the Stroppe Edsel influence for sure. The details are amazing.
  24. To be fair... no box art can save this kit
