  1. Yes, that is correct, but the body shape remains unchanged. The blank interior is the downfall of the AMT kit
  2. I like where this is headed. Your review on the other Merc kit is correct, and the other is slab sided also. Undergoing a similar milder project (although it is stalled) using parts from both kits. To save me some time I used the Revell 1/4 glass, Mercs are a favorite so I will be watching to see where this goes.
  3. The subtle changes look good on it. The only thing I think it needs (or needed) was to lay the rear window down a bit to give it that "swoopy" look it got from the windshield being laid back. But that is just me, it still looks cool.. I was happy to see it wasn't that other Merc kit.... LOL
  4. IMO, the AMT body is much better than the MPC. Here is a pic of the front of the original AMT 71. The main body is the same as the AMT 73 (Tope car)
  5. By looking at the bottom of the box, it is the MPC kit for sure. I wish they had just used the AMT kit and used the MPC interior. Luckily I recently bought a nice re-builder of an original AMT 71 Mach I
  6. You set the bar for this kit high for sure. Great job
  7. Rob Mattis, that is nice
  8. Yea, not a "real" hot rod, but is my hot rod. Been wanting a car like this since I was 8...... Took 37 years to find one
  9. I stand corrected.... I thought it was earlier
  10. There are some selling and auction pages on Facebook I use to buy and sell I like Model Kits and Bits Auction page
  11. I own my dream Hot Rod (car) 1971 Ford Custom 500, 351CJ 4 speed.
  12. I am working on a Johan Pinto Funny car and have been baffled as to what to do with the huge quick change rear end. Then came across this photo. Well, it looks as if the kit rear end is correct. Anybody have more photos or information?
  13. Yes, I remember seeing the Plymouth Fury police car release in the 90's. Sadly I did not get one
  14. I'd like to see this one again, or was the latest a version of it?
  15. Well, to my surprize. Discount Drug mart is starting to stock plastic kits again. For awhile now they have been loaded with die cast kits, but have recently brought back plastic kits. The selection consists of Revell kits. I emailed to customer comments on the Drug Mart website letting them know my appreciation. I mentioned an interest in them stocking some Round2 kits. I am hoping others may appreciate them stocking kits and letting them know. Prices range from $13.99 to $19.99 I grabbed these two today.
  16. Looks great.... Nice details on the chassis
  17. I'd say it's looking good. As an FYI, the hood is not straight across, there is a peak that follows the front header.
  18. Found a Revell 48 Ford in Columbus. Grabbed it along with a Gremlin, Diamond Reo, Kenworth cab over, International Transtar, and a flatbead trailer. Was a good day.
  19. Well, he is from New York City... Cost of living is high there, so if you adjust for that, it's a $100 kit. LOL
  20. Of course Ebay is packed with all these kits Ollies had. I grabbed a 1/25 Pumper. Anyone want to trade a Diamond Reo?
  21. It is looking great!!!! One of the issues this Torino has is the trim on top the door. It is too thick and raises the door and line making the openings to small, especially the 1/4 glass , Revell added the height of the entire piece to the top of the door and 1/4 glass whereas the trim is almost flat on top the door and rolls over the side. Even it out to open up the window the way it should be. Major kit flaw that drives me insane!!! i marked up one of your pics for reference.
  22. PM me if you do. I have a stalled project that I was trying to figure what to do with and I saw these on a page and thought they would be perfect. Til then, I'll watch Ebay
  23. Thank you so much!!!! You would not want to get rid of a set would you?
