  1. Looks awesome to me!! Excellent work!!
  2. Thanks so much!! Thanks Kerry!! Thanks!!
  3. Looks great! You’re really knocking this one out!
  4. Here’s a couple of pictures of the real thing:
  5. Great project! If I am not mistaken, this kit comes with two water manifolds. Looking forward to seeing more!
  6. I just left Micheal’s. Evidently they don’t carry those studs anymore. The closest thing that they had was more like a flat mirror than a hubcap. I will check Hobby Lobby soon and see if they have anything similar.
  7. Jim my inspiration often comes from trucks that I have seen or been involved with in the past. I also have a ton of old Overdrive and Owner Operator magazines, along with a few fleet owner and CCJ magazines that give inspiration as well. There’s also trucks that I have seen recently in person too, either on the road or at truck shows. I think the problem is that I have more inspiration than I have time and ability to build.?
  8. I will look the next time that I go to the Michael’s here. That is where I found the ones above. I had to buy a set that had more that I couldn’t do anything with than ones that I could use. They were pretty cheap though. I will let you know if I find any more.
  9. This one is really coming together! Looks great!
  10. Not sure how the kit is made, but on the real thing you can do an axle flip (putting axles under the springs instead of on top). This give about 5” of lift in the real world. I’ve done this on the MPC CJ 5 Jeep.
  11. Thanks Gator! I’m going to trim the fenders like the reference truck, but they won’t be widened. I started to put a 3208 Cat in this one as they were used in these trucks, but the 6-71 is my favorite engine to put in a model.?
  12. Thanks Pat!! I hope that you are getting settled in to your new home.
  13. I don’t know how tight your time schedule is, or if things are the same in Connecticut, but it usually takes 2-3 weeks for something to arrive in North Carolina from ST Supply in Canada once it has been shipped. Not speaking negatively of ST Supply. It is a shipping from Canada thing. I received my KFS tires yesterday that were shipped on the 10th.
  14. Go to Micheal’s or Hobby Lobby and look at iron on studs. There are various sizes.
  15. Worked on the dash today. All the Ertl kits with this cab use the same dash with the Speedograph and the tachograph. I decided a regular speedometer and tachometer would be better for this build. Here is a picture of a Paystar dash: Here is the dash from the kit: I used a dash out of an old 4300 to modify. Here it is with the new speedometer and tach:
