  1. Sodbuster's Desert Dogs my have in I.D. that is too big for most AMT Steelies. Try fitting some Spare rims to see. Fireball Resin has all the steelies and GM truck hubcaps you could want. Try looking at his list. 1/24 rims might be big enough to work on the DD's if they are too big for AMT/MPC rims.
  2. I have a partial sheet of Autoworld decals1962 printed in 1962. They have some really unique vintage, European sponsor logo, and I want to save them. I've tried a couple I did not need, and had one explode into fragments, and the other split in half, but remained useable. How do I salvage the ones I want? It would help, if there is something I can use at Hooby Looby, but I can mail order if I have too. Or is there a good, modern decal sheet of 1950's and 1960's logos as would be seen a Le Man, or Monte Carlo Rallye? I particularly want a "Tag Heuer, Chronograph" Decal. I'm building a Fantasy 1964 Monte Carlo entry, and while they are not todays' billboards, they do a carry a select few sponsor decals. Thanks, for the help.
  3. Cool Kit, HPI GUy does a great Kit review of the contents and buildup.
  4. I think it is a carry-over from Diecast Cars. That is where I first noticed it. Then Moebius copied it, and now Revell. I have no clue of the technical reason for doing it this way, but, Like You, I don't care for it. I wish they would stop doing it. It may have somehow be connected to the fact that this first appeared on Chinese made Diecast "Franklin Mint-style" pieces. It seems to have spread from there to other places who have tooling done in China. MIght be a slowly spreading Chinese thing, but I am just guessing. I do know that it is very annoying.
  5. Wonderful Story! Glad you shared it with us!
  6. HPI Guy just did a review of this kit. My First though when I saw it? Cannonball Run Highway Patrol Car. (Nevada, maybe?) The Blue/Silver Firebird in the opening credits. It's not perfect, but with the proper paint, decals and lightbar, it will be close enough for me! Hooray for Round2 bringing this back.
  7. And nothing at all wrong with that!
  8. I might agree with you if I had not seen some of the Modren Sales numbers. Mustangs & Messerschmitt's or Mustangs & Camaro's underpin the Model Industry. These are the sales giants that allow most of the new stuff to get funding. It is (of course) far more complicated than that, but these kits 'always' sell. So, new versions get tooled and old versions get new decals and are re-released.
  9. I've only placed a couple orders with Fireball, but both very sent fast with great communication.
  10. I Love your build! I have a 'thing' for racing Camaros. This is a great one!
  11. Awesome! Is that the Texas 3D Nose?
  12. And some more about the "El Kineno" http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2017/03/they-had-some-extremely-odd-ideas-of.html https://www.jalopyjournal.com/?p=35299 And here it is at a car show.
  13. And I found it! The "El Kineno" And was on the cover of Popular Science Thanks, Mike 1017. Never Find this in resin!
  14. There was a 1950 Buick Hunting Car from King Ranch on the cover of either Popular Science ot Mechanix Illustrated back in 1950 or 1951. My Dad had the issue, and it was an Awesome Car? I still remember the painting on the cover.
  15. It is the only one I know of, and it most not certainly, 'Trash'.... Pretty Nice kit actually. I've built two of them.
  16. What other Bond Kits are there? I am only aware of the Aston DB and the Mustang.
  17. Yep! Should be a fun build.
  18. Yes! So much "Yes" for this kit.
  19. Great Build. You nailed the Look with the whole package. The weathering is perfect, as is the stance.
  20. Any more news about Donn?
  21. Larry said it, better than I can! Just Wow!
  22. Those of us of a certain age will fondly remember the short stories in Pop Sci that introduced us to "Gus Wilson, Veteran Auto Mechanic" who's wisdom, and trouble shooting talents were second to none. I know that some of my automotive interests were sparked by these stories, the rest by by my Dad, and antique Car Nut. They helped to turn me on to cars, in the 1970's when I started to read 'grown-up' magazines like the Popular Mechanics and Popular Science that my Dad always subscribed to. I read every Gus Wilson story I could, and learned a whole lot about cars, and how to fix them. Looking on the Internet yesterday I found a site devoted to Gus and his stories. I found it fascinating. I share it in hope that some of you will find it as fun as I did. I know I'll be reading stories here for a very long time. Stories started in 1925 (!) and run until 1970, for 45 years. https://gus-stories.org/index.htm
