  1. Chris, that '29 is stretching the definition of "Station Wagon" a bit, but your theory sure sounds workable. It is a nice kit in many ways and would be great to have back.
  2. Best Build of this kit, I've ever seen! Just perfect.
  3. Well........ I'll be buying the '66 Chevy Modstock for the decals. They look marginally better than the old ones. I have to say that while I will end up with the '76 Dart, the Hype Sticker on the box once again brims with half truths. Retro Box Art. True, but totally irrelevant. New Decals. Only point that is true with no caveat's. Pad Printed Tires. True of 90% of all Round2 kits since 2008. So, irrelevant. And last, the Two Figures. Same as the ones in the '75 Dart kit. So No change, and another lame selling point. So, three wasted Bullet Points, and one (new decals) that is mandatory in order to "Move the Plastic" as it were. Given that many buyers at the Big Box Hobby Stores may not know of this kits connection to the '75 Dart, Round2 may have deemed these Product Call outs necessary. Still seems like much buzz for nothing. Can We get the "Smokey, Convoy Chaser" next, please. At least it has some different parts. Now to see what comes up in March!
  4. Indeed, Dave, you may be correct. I know that I've really scaled back my buying. I'm waiting now for the kits that have not been out for many years (like the awful '63 Impala) before I pick up "just another kit". Round2 has gotten chintzy with tires in the last couple of years too. Kits that had 8 or even 10 tires, now come with 6, at most. Going back to the '63 Impala, it supposedly has a Drag version. but you get only 4 stock tires. No Such luck in the Kit. No Drag Slicks, No Dragster Engine parts. Just some fairly lame decals. More like a Street Car in Drag, than a real Drag Racing Car. That kit has 2 options really. (well Okay, 3). 1. Wild Custom 2. Mild Custom 3. Stock. It does have a ton of typical AMT 1960's car kit accessories. TV, Tools, ect.
  5. I have bought two of these in the past, just to get that giant Pro Stock scoop. Nobody casts that exact scoop. I'll wait to see the kit reviews before I buy one, now. You are correct about the wheels. MPC made some poor wheel choices that have not held up well over the years. Ah Well, maybe the decals will be decent.
  6. Thanks, Mike! I'll check with them.
  7. Thanks, Guys! Good to know. I passed on the '75. I regret not getting one then, so this kit will do as well. I wonder if the Hi-rise Hood Scoop will be back in the kit. The '75 had the older two-piece style scoop. I am guessing that it will not. It would be nice really nice to see the "Smokey, Convoy Chaser" version back. Maybe in 2-3 more years........
  8. I've read that Roger Harney from Revell-o-gram, specifically avoided using a Hallibrand Quick Change rear axle in the kit. He was trying to have a "Modern" version of the car, as it would be if built now. The rear end choice on the model was made with due thought and care. We may not all agree with the choice, but it was deliberate.
  9. I've seen a mail-order website showing a 1976 Dodge Dart Sport, for Pre-Order. Is this kit in any way different from the 1975 Rebel Rouser Dodge Dart from about 5 years ago? It appears from the box art photo shown to have exactly the same optional wheels, and even lists the Cheater Slicks, that where in the last kit. So, just new decals, then?
  10. The Stepside kit that just came out has your Intake Manifold, and other parts. Oddly, they are on the same tree with the Stepside Fenders, which explains why you cannot get them in the Snowplow or Big Game GMC smoothsides. A really ODD tool layout choice by Monogram 40 years ago. As far as the Factory Steering Wheel, you'll have to steal that from a different kit. Not sure which one. I'll bet that the Monogram 1/24 Blazer uses the same Chrome tree from the truck series, so it retains the Aftermarket Steering Wheel. The Monogram 1980 Citation X, might have a stock Chevy S.W. Hard to tell from the Instruction Sheet. The Heavy Chevy Malibu might be a candidate as well. Also, the New Stepside kit has a really great set of GM Corporate Truck Wheels. I'll be getting a kit for those alone.
  11. Great. Cannot wait to see where this goes.
  12. Really Does not matter which wagon Round2 does. I'll be buying a couple of them. Never can have enough wagons.
  13. Not Car related but, glad to see the 1/72 Ju-52 and 1/35 GMC Deuce and a Half, from Heller. Those kits have been going for stupid money lately. This will knock the legs from under that market. And I'll get fresh decals. Some other nice Non-Auto stuff from Heller, as well. Good Show. P.S. Any ideas for a good mail order vendor for purchasing Heller kits in the USA?
  14. I drive a 2017 Kia Sorrento. While this kit is a Hyundai, it is the only game in town for a Modern "Cute-Ute". I'll be getting one eventually, just for that reason.
  15. Well, I gotta get some! Thanks for the info, guys.
  16. Man, I want that Green Paint. I wonder what the TS# is?
  17. Now, That is Great! What a fun build.
  18. You are correct. Those Taillights are perfect.
  19. Nice to see a possible inspiration for Alan Barton's Willis build.
  20. Awesome Set-up! Both the car and the tow rig are period correct.
  21. Neat Car. It looks appropriately sinister in the black.
  22. Man, what an impressive Build, Alan! I like the "just-right" stance and the colour. You've nailed the look perfectly.
  23. I hope never to read the words "68 Coronet" again. I am so tired of the constant stream of guff about this car. It may come as a surprise to some members of this board, but in 1968, there were at least 4 Domestic major manufacturers of full size cars. General Motors, Ford Motor Company, American Motors & Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth. (aka MOPAR) Each of these companies offered to the American Consumer a great numbers of choices of cars and trucks to choose from. Strangely, the Coronet was one of many. Thus while desirable, it had much competition Therefore, enough about this one car. I want a 68 AMC Ambassador. I have never mentioned this 'want' until now. Why? Because it is a waste of bandwidth. I swear, I'm gonna start hunting '68 MOPAR Gluebombs and kits of all kinds on the secondary market, and burn the danged things just to make them scarce! Argh! Enough is Enough. Round2 will (or will Not) tool up parts for this kit, When (or IF) they deem it a good use of their limited Tooling Dollars. Want one sooner? Buy Round2! Buy Revell! Buy Moebuis! Put YOUR money into this project, and stop carping about it online!
  24. You are correct about both the Nose-Hi reasoning, and about the narrow tires being from an earlier time period.
